Maddox was surprised, and turned around, studying Cyphus. "Maddox. You could just call me Max. Your in Hollow Bastion..but shouldn't you know that? Is there anywhere you need to go?" he asked, There's other people here, why does he ask the guy with the black coat? Don't they teach you this stuff.. he thought, He should know where he is, I mean, after all, he can't do any travel, whether by gummi ship or dark corridor. he pondered on these thoughts in a split second, tempted to pull his hood up and run away.

 

Cyphus smiled nervously. "Nice to meet you, Maddox. Uh..." he said, putting his hand behind his head as if he were confused. This was awkward. "Yeah, I probably should know where I am. I just kind of... woke up over there on that balcony. You were the first guy I saw. Sorry to disturb you." He said apoligeticaly. Cyphus wasn't sure why he had decided to talk to a guy dressed in black walking around looking ominous. That wasn't exactly the best idea. He looked around at the castle and the town, taking in all the scenery. He saw the obviously rebuilt houses and shops, the half-destroyed castle behind him, and he felt... dissapointed for some reason. It was like he had lost a dear, dear friend. He shook off the feeling and considered walking towards the town. He didn't have anywhere specific to go, but he couldn't think of any reason to stay.

Maddox chuckled, "It's fine. So you just woke up, do you remember anything?" he asked. Oh well that was a great way to say it. he sarcastically thought, scratching the back of his head anxiously, occasionally glancing around.

Cyphus looked at the ground. "No, I don't remember anything at all. Like I said, just- waking up." He looked up at the castle, and said (more to himself than anybody) "I wonder what happened." He looked around again and back at Maddox. He was thinking. Now what am I gonna do? I don't know who I am or how I got here. Everything has a purpose. What is mine?

"Where have you been?" Xehanort asked as he turned around. Despite the fact that he now had a young body, his back was still arched and his hands were clasped behind them. A habit of old age. "We have many things to discuss, my young apprentice."


Sora shrugged. He was still in his normal attire, but his face had a gloomy expression, made all so gloomier by the shadow his hood cast on his face. "Around. I feel like...like I shouldn't be around other people. I'm going to go out soon. I want to...do something."


Xehanort's eyes narrowed. "What is on your mind? We have pressing matters."

Riku watched Roxas from a far. He wasn't hiding, but merely observing. He couldn't believe his eyes. There was Roxas...and right next to him was Roxas. Two Roxases, with only a few differences. He knew one was Ven, but he had met Roxas before Ven...or had he? Ven felt familiar to him. Riku felt like he was with Sora when he talked to Ven, just as he did with Roxas.
"Penny for your thoughts?" A dark voice whispered behind him.
"Go away. You're not needed yet," Riku growled.

 

Ven noticed Roxas tense slightly. He was about to ask when he felt, more than heard, Roxas' thoughts. To put it simply, he felt something slightly dark. Now that Roxas' mentioned it, he felt it, too. He just wasn't sure where. Somewhere behind them, for obvious reasons.

There's this group..., Roxas began in his head, they're called "New Order", from what Mickey said. They're like...the Organization XIII. I doubt you know them.

Ven narrowed his eyes, once again feeling Roxas thoughts. Well...no. But through you, I sort of do. I need a lot of catching up to do, you know? It's hard...

Roxas smiled a little to encourage Ven. I'll explain more, later. But all you need to know right now is that dark force we're sensing... It could be a member of the New Order, the bad guys. If he gets too close, that's when we pounce. Can you dual wield?

I think so...

Let's go to Sunset Hill., Roxas said, leading the way. Once again, Roxas sort of tensed, a sort of grim look on his face; like he remembered something.

Maddox put his head in his hands for a second, but quickly lifted his head again, realizing Cyphus was still there. He asked carefully and quietly, "Can you feel anything...do you believe in anything?" Why did you just ask that? Now he'll think your more off your rocker then you look! he thought, scolding himself and taking deep breaths.

OOC: Kind of short post, I'll try to make up for it with my next post.

 

Cyphus didn't think that Maddox was off his rocker. The thought didn't even occour to him. He thought hard for awhile, and then answered the questions as honestly as he could. "I feel... incomplete." He looked up at Maddox. "And I believe in the Light." It didn't make any sense to Cyphus, but it was what he felt, what he believed. It was the truth. Suddenly, he felt embarrased that he had said this out loud. If he didn't even know what it meant, and he was the one who thought it, how was a complete stranger supposed to understand? Then again, Just about everybody around here probably knew more about anything and everything then he did.

Maddox thought for a second, Believes in life; but incomplete? I'm keeping this guy around. "Does the term 'Nobody' strike you in any way..even though you lost your memory?.." he carefully asked. He better come with me when I ask him. This is the first time I'll meet somebody besides me who likes the light. he thought, tapping his toe in his shoe. He was about to move his hands to stick them in his pockets when he remembered he didn't have one. But still..why am I about to tell this valuable information to a stranger? Xehanort is going to kill me.

 

When they reached the top of the hill, the darkness began fading. They took it as a good sign and decided to just sit around for a little longer. Roxas brought a hand to hover over his chest. "It feels weird...having a heart."

"We share it, don't we?" Ven asked. "Why don't you have a heart?"

"Comes with being a Nobody. Basically, when a person loses his heart, he becomes a Heartless. When the heart is strong enough, the body transforms into a Nobody, making me. But Sora still has his body and kicked me out. I'm nothing but an essence now, I guess."

"Oh..." Ven muttered. He didn't know what else to say, but he was sure Roxas could feel the wave of sympathy from him. His twin (or clone; he didn't really know) had a small smile.

From what he heard, he could only assume that his heart being inside Sora when he lost his was what influenced Roxas to look like Ven. When he thought deeply, he could vaguely see Sora releasing his heart and that girl's, Kairi.

As if someone up there decided to break the serious tension, a random golden retriever walked past the two, though only Ven saw it as Roxas was leaning over the fence and Ven was merely sitting on the bench. Ven, upon seeing the animal, exploded.

"Roxas!" He called childishly, running to the dog and petting it. The dog sniffed his palm and wagged its tail, sitting down. "Can we keep it?"

Ven heard a sigh. "No."

"But he's lost!"

Roxas sighed, almost in defeat. Sometimes, he felt like he was babysitting a kid...

 

Cyphus looked at Maddox, thinking. A 'Nobody'? No, he had never heard of that before. Yet, he realized that although the name didn't hold any meaning for him, it made him feel... afraid, almost. "It sounds... Dark," he finally said. "Almost like there's no light." He reflected on his feelings, analyzing them and trying to make sense of his own words. Feel incomplete. Believe in the Light. Afraid of the Dark. In his mind, these things all seemed to be connected, but he didn't know how. He shoved the thoughts to the back of his mind. He needed to stay focused on the topic at hand. Maddox had said Nobody. "What is a Nobody?" He asked. "Is that a name or something?" He wasn't really sure if he wanted to know. But, he needed a purpose. Perhaps this was it. Besides, he might as well listen. What was the harm?

Maddox nodded, "The smartest decisions. Not the best path to..well..take. Nobodies are incomplete, normally when somebody has a strong heart and they die, or their heart is released, a nobody is created, and they are 'rejected' by light and dark. But a heartless is also created. They have the hearts, hunger for them, they roam each and every world. Normally telling a stranger this would totally put me on the edge of my job..but you seem safe enough to tell." he explained. He knelled in closer, lowering his voice, "I know your like me..believing the light wise. I'm apart of The New Order, but it's not all as great as it sounds. it consists of Nobodies and any people that have moved over to..well..the dark side. You join, there is no leaving, because once you leave, they will find you-" his voice hardened, "and destroy you." He finished off his explanation nice and lightly, "That's all I know. If anybody knew I was telling you this they would destroy me on the spot." he knelled backwards again, waiting for Cyphus's reaction.

Cyphus thought for a moment. A Nobody was a creature that was formed when a being of strong heart died? Rejected by Light and Dark? Then maybe he was a Nobody. That would explain his memory loss. And although he believed in the Light, who was to say it hadn't rejected him? It certainly was interesting information. And Maddox said that giving him this information practically put him on the wanted list for this... New Order. "I promise not to tattle," he joked. But seriously, what kind of group destroyed you for telling people what happens to those who leave the group? It sounds like these aren't exactly the kind of people I'd want to be associated with. He thought. And yet, something about it still intrigued him. Besides, If he did go with Maddox to this New Order, he wasn't exactly leaving behind a wonderful life. Gee, I sure miss my old life in Hollow Bastion, He could imagine himself saying later. I had the most wonderful times there... waking up on that balcony. At the thought, he laughed out loud. Then he realized that to any bystanders (including Maddox), he had laughed for apparantly no reason. He looked at Maddox. "Uh, sorry." he said sheepishly. "I just... thought of something funny." Why did he keep doing stuff like that?

Maddox chuckled, "It's fine." Maddox sensed the different thing about Cyphus, and it confused him, Once he knows, they'll probably know. It's like their everywhere. he thought to himself, wanting to tell Cyphus. But then Cyphus would know. "So..erm..I better get uhm..going now. Do you want to-?" he didn't feel like completing it, looking at Cyphus trying to tell him Dont go! Don't go! Run!

Cyphus looke at Maddox. Do I want to come with you?" he asked. "To this New Order thing?" Hm. Did he? He had to make a choice. Maddox had to leave. He didn't exactly have forever to decide. Wait, yeah he did! it occoured to him that Maddox could probably find him again if he wanted to. (He wasn't sure how he knew this, he just did.) He could think about it for awhile, and then decide later. "Naw," he answered. "I don't think I'm ready to join a group or anything yet. I think I need to think about it." Well. He had said it. So now what should he do? Walk around, I guess. he thought. Learn what I can while I can. He looked around at the town again. He wanted to know more about Hollow Bastion. What was it's history? What kind of people lived here? How had it got it's strange name? Yeah, there was a lot he could learn here.

Maddox looked at Cyphus for a second, "Suit yourself, it's the smarter choice if you ask me. Nice talking to you. If you need me..just..erm..call my name? I don't know." he stated. Maddox put his hood up, waving to Cyphus as he opened a dark corridor and walked in. He's a confused one. I think they'll find him. Join or death. Doomed to existence. his mind swirled with thoughts, the tips of his fingers tingling. Cyphus was different, he wasn't sure how, but he was different. He feels incomplete? Hmph.. he went over the conversation they had over and over again in his head, wanting to turn back.

 

Cyphus waved back. "Nice talking to you, too." he said as Maddox walked through the portal. Then he walked toward the town. He started thinking about what Maddox had said. About the New Order and all that. Would they find out that Maddox had told him about them? What would happen to Maddox if they did? Would they destroy him? Cyphus still couldn't imagine a group of people that destroyed one another, no matter how bad someone messed up. Yeah, maybe it was a bad idea to get mixed up in something like that. By this time, Cyphus had reached the center of town.

Hi, Master Yen Sid. I'm just gonna post this for you just in case the leaders forget to check. Sorry, but this group is pretty dead. My sister and I tried to bring it back to life after we discovered it. It looks really cool! But, even when we got people to come back and post, it died again within a few days. So while I think your entry form looks pretty cool, Don't expect to get accepted. :(
