Hey everyone, we are still dealing with the lack of Kingdom Hearts news. Recently, IGN has wrote an article where they give their own concept on the next sequel of Kingdom Hearts "Kingdom Hearts: III." I just wanted to let you guys know that everything on here is NOT official. Thanks to our forum member Shades for letting me know.

Edit: Just found out that there is also a thread about this in our forums. Thanks Hannah Montana

Kingdom Hearts III: The IGN Concept
We lay the foundations for a legendary sequel.
    by Ryan Clements

July 28, 2009 - Square Enix has traditionally been associated with the Final Fantasy franchise, but one particular series that began in 2002 took the gaming community by surprise. Kingdom Hearts

The action RPG revolved around a young boy named Sora and his two close friends: Riku and Kairi. The three children played together on an idyllic tropical island until one day a strange darkness invaded their surreal sanctuary and swept Sora up into a quest to find his friends. This journey connects Sora with Donald and Goofy, servants of the King, and the eager trio travels to many worlds in search of old companions -- all while battling the Heartless.

Kingdom Hearts would later be followed by a GBA game titled Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which followed main character Sora and his adventures after the conclusion of the original Kingdom Hearts. With the launch of Kingdom Hearts II, the protagonists enjoyed a dramatic growth both physically and emotionally, as even more villains threatened the natural order of the worlds.

The most recent game in the Kingdom Hearts series to reach the US was Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, a PS2 remake of the aforementioned GBA spin-off. With two more spin-offs on the horizon, little is known about the seemingly inevitable Kingdom Hearts III. As Kingdom Hearts is a very special series to me, I decided to put together this outline of what I'd like to see out of the third proper entry in the series. In my effort to shape this as-of-yet untold adventure, I called upon friends and readers alike to create original concept art for this dream project. combined the JRPG expertise of Square Enix with the rich worlds and characters of the Disney universe. Add in a few Final Fantasy cameos and you had one of the most unlikely pairs in videogame history -- but it worked. The original Kingdom Hearts was met with a tremendous amount of success and gamers everywhere were captivated by its unique charm and sincere emotion.

"Don't look so smug. I know what you are thinking, but The World That Never Was' was merely a set back. Did you honestly believe I would trust the future to some crazy, half-weird hearts? Hahahaha... Oh no, no, no, those were merely instruments, a stepping stone to a much larger plan! It has all led to this...and this time, you will not interfere!"

"If Sora was trying to find his friends, why is he fighting in a tournament or helping Ariel play an underwater song?"
Because, Ariel's MUCH hotter than Kairi, and fighting in a tournament's more fun than being gay with Riku. =D Isn't it obvious?

Such is the power of bad writing, my fine feathered friend! The nemesis returning in the next entry in the saga with no explanation is a common practice.

We won't know 'till screens come out. THEN, you can get an idea whether Sora & Kairi kiss.

In my personal opinion, I'd love to see Sora & Kairi kiss. It would drive to Sokai fans crazy!!

The cliff hanger with Riku and Sora looking at a message from King Mickey shows that anything is possible. If the organization does come back they would have to be their oringnal selves, but then again the darkness is still around so is the castle. Hmm I see them returning since Nomura really underdevloped their characters in ways. Popularity with characters always have a come back. Who could bring them back? Let's see what about Ansem. I forgot if he is defeated or not. In KH 2 they said that the one they were fighting was not the real one. *shrugs*

I loved how they had Pirates of the Caribbean in, but I do agree that the characters looked weird next to the cartoons. It would be interesting to see live action characters cartooned down and maybe try to make KH characters a little more realistic on that world

KH 3 needs a simple thing. coop.

Imagen playiing throw a whole adventure with you as Sora and your friend as Riku, i mean damn the coop attacks in KH 2 with the in world charecters where awsome! Imagen a 3 way coop attack" orgazms"

Limex, about that. Here was my idea.

Considering Kairi, Riku AND Sora all have wielded Keyblades, who's to say Riku and Kairi won't be playable characters in KH3?

Imagine, certain parts of the game, you'd play as Kairi 'cause of a story element, or maybe you could choose who to play as. Different abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, and whatnot.

But, yeah, there's my main point. Playing as Kairi, Riku, and Sora. I mean, they already have three different playable characters for BBS, right? Why not for KH3? And, to extend that concept, co-op, like how Limex stated:

      Player 1, Sora.
      Player 2, Kairi.
      CPU 1, Donald.

      Or even,

      Player 1, Riku
      Player 2, Goofy
      CPU 1, Sora

Just think of the combinations. And now that I think about it, PS3 can support up to 4 players right?

      Player 1, Sora.
      Player 2, Goofy.
      Player 3, Donald.

I don't know what Player 4 would do, but think about it. That'd be kinda cool, right?

I'm sorry, but I hated every second of that article. Kingdom hearts doesn't need to be darker and more mature. That's why Disney worlds are there. That's why we ended up with a keyblade instead of the original chainsaw weapon. Now, if there was a spin-off game that took the series a little darker, like Majora's Mask did for the Zelda series, that might actually be pretty cool, but the entire series doesn't need to go that direction. And Good God, I don't want to see a 20 year old Sora. Please no. Getting rid of the command menu and bringing back cards is also a bad idea. I don't want to see cards back at all unless they have some major changes.

I did like the Idea of making the Party members more interactive in a fight, though.

Alright, you do make a good point at the whole "chainsaw" thing being too dark and more mature. But then again, there are Disney movies that are more developed and mature (that AREN'T live-action) that haven't appeared in the KH series yet. For example, Treasure Planet? That takes on a deeper meaning than Aladdin & The Little Mermaid. Of course, KH should keep the veteran Disney worlds. But the new Disney world additions could be based from stories that have such a deep meaning. The Pride Lands, I am almost certain that world will return in KH3.

You don't want to see Sora 20 years old? Well, Sora's gotta grow up someday.
This is a really good outline of what developed gameplay Square Enix may have planned. This very well works. The gameplay system should run like 358/2 Days' system. It was complex, but very easy to use.

Please, I don't want to see those bloody cards again, EVER. It was a terribly annoying gameplay style. At least, in Kingdom Hearts it was.
