Kingdom Hearts III appears in Degenki's PS4 Lineup

Alas, there is still nothing that new to report on the title of Kingdom Hearts III, but with Japan's launch of the Playstation 4 this month, the title will be apearing alongside Final Fantasy XV in numerous magazines. Today, Sqex.Info has translated some scans from a recent Degenki article with comments from Shinji Hashimoto.

Again, nothing entirely new, but he does give some insight on the appeal of possibilities on the next gen console.

— What do you find appealing about the PS4’s aspects?

The 8GB memory is great. It’s 16 times that of the PS3. As a next gen console with a x86-64 AMD CPU and high spec 8 cores processor, I am sure it’s capable of doing a variety of things. Not only does it have a high polygon number count, I think the PS4’s hardware gives it the potential to do various productions, including effects. The graphics display is also in full HD (1920×1080), so I’m excited for the evolution of our visual productions.

Our characteristic CG movie style characters coming to life in real time will be something to see. Also, I think that the PS4 offers an appealing development environment. Thanks to the AMD chip, we can produce titles that closely resemble how they appear in their PC development environment.

It’s evolving the player’s portability as well. I’m especially looking forward to corresponding with the PS Vita as a second screen. Both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III will be next gen titles and we’re aiming to evolve them rapidly.

Finally I think that the PS4’s starting price is particularly appealing. I want to play with the real thing already. Personally, I like the PS4 console’s design, and I’m looking forward to putting little things on top of it’s smooth surface.

I too am fond of the PS4 design. If the content they have shown in the KH III trailers so far is even a fraction of what to expect, I think we have a lot to look forward to.

Agreed. I personally can't wait to see how a next-gen KH game is going to look like (apart from what we already saw)

Ooh, they're kinda snubbing Microsoft here, aren't they?

I wonder if Microsoft will respond, or if they already know that they're not the most popular with the Japanese or Japanese developers?

Also, it's kind of interesting to think about developers making a game for a console they don't even own yet. I know there's devkits and whatever, but still it's an interesting concept.

I'm not sure if you understood what was said completely, but you still will need a PS4 to play the game. The Vita can be used for certain features in the game, though we're not currently aware of what we'll be able to do exactly.

Basically, it'll support remote play like all PS4 titles do. You'll have the PS4 game in the console and then you will be able to 'stream' that over onto the PS Vita. From there you can fully view and play the game. So yeah you'll need the game for the PS4, but if you have a Vita you can play the game with the TV off, or in another room, or outside of your house so long as you have an internet connection. Though the interview does say potential Second screen apllications, but at the very minimum it will support remote play, which is a great feature in itself.

Yes, indeed. I was more referring to features other than remote play, but I should have mentioned that in my post. Maybe one of the other features could be similar to the recent Sly Cooper title, where you can hold your Vita - which goes into an x-ray effect - up to your TV and reveals the locations of treasure and other collectibles.

I'm excited to just have him say it. I'm also excited about how the games will turn out on the console I don't own yet. xD But can that screen sharing apply for a PSP or JUST the Vista?

Yes I know that. It's not like they've been saying "Kh3 for PS4" or anything. I get it. Special features on the game can use it as a 2nd screen. I just said that because for once I actually have a system that will work with it already instead of me having to buy a PS4 along with a PSVita

All PS4 games are supposed to allow remote play with the Vita (KH3 and FFXV included). Otherwise, you can simply play the games on a PS4 (without the Vita's remote play).

But, yeah. I don't want to know when KH III or FF XV will be release now, I just want some more info about them this year. That would be enough.

I think FFXV information will begin to ramp up towards the middle or end of 2014. KH3 might have some whispers but I don't expect a lot of news on that front until FFXV is nearing release, sadly.
