So. I bought a fliptop cover, and have been able to do switches with other games. (Heck, I was able to switch from swap magic to my US version of KHII.) However, when I put in the Ultimate Hits version of KHIIFM+ (The original version wasn't available for sale on Playasia, sadly.) it's a no-go. The screen just spits me back to Load Program/Video Mode saying that it was an invalid disc format.

Is the Ultimate Hits version incompatible with Swap Magic? This is the only reason I can think of it not working, because of perhaps tweaked coding. Because I know (obviously) that the original KHIIFM+ was swappable. Or is it my PS2? (I'm still using the old fat kind. But I've never experienced that kind of problem before, nor have I heard of it.)

I'll try it again, and see if it was just some kind of misplacement of the disc or something. Still, this is a strange problem, and I'd like to not have to run into everytime I want to play.

I've had the same issue before. Sometimes, you gotta check the disc and see if it's placed correctly. I've found that sometimes I put it in, but it's not fully in the tray itself.

i have the Ultimate Hits version and mine works perfectly fine. aside from the boxart, both the Ultimate Hits version and the original release of the game are exactly identical. that issue has happened to me a few times but for other games, i just reset the system and try again and usually that fixes it. also, it MIGHT be your PS2's laser because i heard that the slide method causes more wear and tear damage on your laser (not sure why), and if you've been using the slide method often, that DOES wear out the laser pretty quickly (mine died in a matter of months so i had to send it to sony to get the laser fixed). hope that helps and good luck.
