a HD remake of the series could be in the works! They said the following regarding the latest interview with series creator Tetsuya Nomura from the Dengeki Playstation magazine:

okay, maybe itl be a "sepicial edition FM"...
,and it might be for all games...
, the games could be in new platforms...

    what do you all think?

I guess an HD version would be interesting, but if it's a remake, besides being HD, will there be any other changes?

Well, if he is remaking them in HD I a also guessing that he'd port them to a different console.
Considering the PS2 is out of date, they'll probably be ported over to the PS3 - or even avaliable over PSN.

Well HD has to be at least current gen (PS3/360) previous generations and the Wii simply don't support HD.

What I hope will happen is that it will be FM with maybe a tiny bit more content, and the content remains the same for all regions. The last thing the fans want is the content war simply being carried out one more title.

if they remake it to HD they need to add all the things in FM, that way we can fight Xemnas in the first game, and fight Roxas and get all those goodd scenes in the second.
But if they do they better change the controls for the first game, because I could never get used to them

I agree that it should be with the current generation, but I think that it could work with the PS2.

If I recall correctly, they are still making some games for the PS2.

Hm. If it wasn't lazily done, it could even have some form of Transfarring(no that's not a typo). You could play on the PS3 then transfer over to the PSP what game you have and continue there until you get back to your console. Then again...that kind of thing would be better with the Vita. It'd be a nice little extra feature. It could probably all be packed in one disc since it's not like both games are exactly massive.

Like I said in a previous thread, it would probably be a remake of KH and KH2 with all the FM content in one blu-ray disc for PS3.

If they can do it for the Sly series, KH could do it too.

I wouldn't get too excited about it. Not to be a downer, but "HD technical test" doesn't scream game to me - remember the PS3's HD technical test of the FFVII opening?

If it was remade that would be nice, especially if the FM content was put in, but I think it depends also on when next year it would be released. If Nomura decides to give the Wii a shot (since it does appeal to more "casual gamers"), it could very well be one of the first titles on the Wii U. Because let's face it, even though the current gen is very high powered and high quality, with the release of the Wii U next year there will be new competing systems within the next year or two of that, so why release it on a "old" console?
And since Skyward Sword will be the first real Wii game to take full realistic advantage of the MotionPlus, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd find a way to make that an appealing aspect of a potential HD KH game, giving that Keyblade-wielder feel for fans and possibly attracting more that way.

Putting another game out for the PS2 would be a huge waste. Plus PS2 is not HD.

I doubt they would put FM content in it. People buy FM regardless of it being in their language so why possibly cut their sales.

I've never bought any of the FM titles and I never will as long as they're only in Japanese, I like to be able to read what the crud is going on thank you very much. If they plan on rereleasing KH(1) in HD though then they have no reason what so ever not to add the FM content, except for the fact that they would have to translate it of course, but really Square? KH:FM doesn't sell anymore, they're not making money off of it, so why not add that content on the HD remake if they plan on making one? The only thing that could possibly do would be increasing the sales since people who never got FM would want to buy it just for that.

It probably won't happen, but it would be nice to show my support for the original KH game again and I would definitely buy it.

And yes, there are still being made Ps2 games, though not very many, its usually just ports of other games like the annual Fifa games.

I am acknowledging the difference between FM and regular KH, how is that forgetting it is released in Japan first?

Also, I am sure someone mentioned this already, but if Square does end up remaking them in HD, a box release of all of them together would be pretty rad.
Chances are it will end up on whatever is the current gen. console of the time, which as Wolfie mentioned would probably be the Wii U/PS?/PSP Vita.

    Personally I'd prefer a box set, but if I had to buy the individual games that would be alright too, I guess. ;~;

If this is true, I hope it'll be more than just an HD remake. I mean, the games already have pretty decent graphics, I don't want Square wasting time on that. I'd prefer another Coded or Days game. Now, if it's an HD remake of the FMs that gets localized here for the PS3? Now that I would enjoy.

I too agree with getting the FM content in this "remakes." If they were to be more than HD graphics, I hope they give KH1 the KH2 system. KH2 played much smoother for me, and I would love to play the original with the controls from 2. Oh and they should nerf Riku's 2nd battle. I think everyone can agree with that.

I would rather hope that it would be a compilation of all the games on one disc in HD. Seeing as BBS one in the poll for games to be made for the PSP it could be interesting.
