Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 Remix still slated for 2014 release

As their fiscal year comes to a close, Square Enix has good reason to rejoice. No doubt due in part to the successful relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square is reporting a profitable year, a nice change from the embarrassing loss of their previous fiscal year. While their low projections for 2015 mean that the long-anticipated (and long-delayed) Final Fantasy XV is still a ways away, and Kingdom Hearts III with it, we still have Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 Remix to look forward to; the report confirms that the game, which Square has been quiet about for the last few months, is still intended for a 2014 release.

This may not be as nice as an actual release date, but as we're nearly halfway through 2014 already, it implies that the window between regional releases may indeed be small (CY2014 = Calendar Year 2014, rather than the fiscal year, which ends in May of 2015). A simultaneous release in Japan, North American, and Europe may stretching it, but we can dream, can't we?

E3 will be starting on June 9th this year; it's likely that we'll see Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 Remix there. Until then... Please Be Excited™!

Right now, I'm really starting to believe HD 2.5 ReMix will have a worldwide release (or at least a very short gap between the Japanese and Western release dates).

Makes me laugh that they have to confirm a game is still on for its original release projection. Makes sense with their track record as far as KH releases. Oh well, good to hear either way :L SOON, MARLUXIA. SOON.

The document is a brief on their financial status for the last fiscal year and projections for the next, so they mention the major titles that will be releasing soon. Keep in mind that the people looking at this brief are probably suits who don't keep up with the series, so I don't think this is at all unique to or reflective of Square as a company. For the fans, though, it's nice to have confirmation that they haven't changed their plans considering that I think the last time we heard about II.5 was E3.

Correction, it was Jump Festa. II.5 wasn't even confirmed during last year's E3.

Good to see the game is coming out. I am planning on buying a PS3 just so I can play some of the old Kingdom Hearts games, not willing to wait until PS4 releases the game streaming service. This is just one more reason for me to go ahead and take the plunge and buy it.

Lets hope that they stick to schedule, and don't dawdle for another few years uwu

In any case however, I'm relieved at the moment to see that the date is still for 2014 (as I've been meaning to get this for that time).
