Hey jaden, when your on, Could you explain how to get worlds to load with the evm changes? Or would I have to start a new game to load the worlds, Playing on my ps2 after ripping the disc, Translating it, then installing it onto my harddrive to use with OPL,

 

Kay.. They were working fine till i used EVM's So I will eventually try without them I dont mind bad timings.

Edit: Mostly Cause Anytime I play on PCSX2 it crashes after beating the darkthing.. Can't think of his name. The big guy. on destiny island. So One of my settings might be messed up,

I will, When I next want to play ^^" I have so many games to play atm that its not funny, Do you happen to know what setting would fix the slowdown after beating a boss and the sunset scene? *allready past the sunset and saved so dont have to care about that atm*

Here's an interesting error while testing Traverse town, Going into the item shop I get the sentance "You can make items like this on the second floor" Then what this screenshot says. with a little textbox that says sure and no other options then it just dissappears and freezes up, Music keeps going but have to restart the game to get out of it,[DOUBLEPOST=1379906532][/DOUBLEPOST]Update: Pausing works but can't move and Sora is stuck in the chat... Mode? I guess it could be called.

 

Traverse town is really janked up right now. I really don't know why since I am within my line limits and everything is lined up fine. But it ends up something else in game. So I will put Traverse Town on pause for a while

 

i need help tranalting a part in the end of the world ... i cant get it in english no matter what i do... the door part before u enter the ansem battle

 

Since a bunch of people have been talking about Traverse Town, I looked through the current files on the drive and fixed 'em up a bit. There were a few things I fixed but they are in no way complete. At the very least no one should be experiencing crashes now. Grab the new stuff on the drive.

 

thanks man[DOUBLEPOST=1379931232][/DOUBLEPOST]got the begging cutsceen translated . and also got the cutsceen trasnlated after where u enter the door and soras say is this is this my island !? now i have work on the cutsceen before the first ansem battle ..

 

These big text files seem to be a major offender of becoming messed up easily. And you can't just add EVMs to fix them either.

What exactly do the EVM files contain? I don't want to blindly replace them without knowing what they do.

 

EVM files have the alignment and timing (textboxes and cutscenes) of the US version. I don't really exactly know what else it effects. Crazycat is sort of iffy because he doesn't exactly know.

For Dive into the Heart, Disney Castle, and 100 Acre Wood you be sure it would work perfectly since those places for sure don't have any Final MIx stuff in it. Although for Dive into the Heart you have to replace the {controller: x} with {controller: o} since no one feels like remapping just yet.

 

Just did a very quick EVM test on Destiny Islands. Specifically the part where the subtitles differ between the japanese and english versions.

English:

Japanese:

Copying the ARDs & EVMs from the english version DID fix that issue so now the japanese subtitles match the english ones. But obviously it removes all the final mix stuff. There are many other instances of the above example in other world ARDs I've encountered. It would be much MUCH better if we could figure out how to take apart the EVMs and replace only specific values. That way, the subs can exactly match the US version and would still maintain the added final mix lines.

Until then, I would still prefer to avoid using EVMs until we figure out how to use them.

 

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. This applies especially to modding, romhacking, and programming.
Doin't avoid using EVMs until you figure out how to use them, spend that time on figuring EVMs out faster.

 

I still do not like the idea of simply copying files from the US version and pasting them into the FM version. This will most likely cause many errors. If anyone figures it out, it would probably be crazycat. I'm no programmer so I don't even intend on working on it, but if crazycat has other things he wants to work on instead then so be it. Once he figures out how to hack EVMs then I'd be all on board. But unless you are helping him work on a fix, I would not replace those files blindly.

 

What i said is pretty much the opposite of encouraging copypasting...
