Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Translation Patch (In progress)

Hey guys, I wanted to see if I could get in on perhaps helping a bit. (After seeing the last couple "No new people" allowed posts I'm guessing it won't be toooo welcome.)

What I'd like to be able to offer is creating some high quality 1080p+ videos showing off the patch to share with the community.

I have a fairly powerful PC and should be more than able to run the game at 1080p in PCSX2.

Along with that, I'd be glad to do some general testing, which I'm guessing is mostly just installing the patches and at this point, comparing translations between the HD 1.5 version and the current one.

For an example of the kind of visual quality I produce, here's a video I've made in the past showing off Wind Waker, rendered in 4k and framerate locked.

Select "Original" quality to view the video at the 4k resolution.

Another small example, here I was running Kingdom Hearts 2 at 1080p/60fps to make this GIF so I should be able to create media for this translation patch to share around at a high quality.

 

as off right now i think we need more translators but i think we still want the patch to be quiet . but we need help

Well like I said, I'd be happy to test it however I could help in those regards, but I thought I should let it be known that where I'm most proficient is creating media for things like this, so whenever you do want a great way to showcase it I can do my part to help show it off.

As for getting KHII:FM to play in 60fps, you just gotta add a patch to the .pnach

I haven't done too much with KHFM at the moment because I was hoping to work through it with the translation patch, but KHII:FM in 1800p at 1080p is a real sight to behold.

I get mine at 8192x8192 when recording. ;)

 

Miles you record at 8K? Wow, what are your PC specs?

 

8k is actually 7680x4320.

I don't think it's an actual named resolution because it would be rendered as a square lol. I'm thinking he was probably joking.

 

No it's the max pcsx2 internal res will go. It's very real. 4:3 is the original aspect ratio. Though it doesn't look much different than around 4k.

 

So are you actually recording at that resolution or just rendering at that resolution?

As in, are your video files 8192x8192 or are they 1920x1200 or something similar?

The first one would be REALLY impressive, but the second one is 8xSSAA, which is still great but not as much as the former.

first but can easily do both. But there is no point since really no site can support 8192. Higher screen res doesn't make the picture any better it just... makes it bigger.

 

Anyone accurately translated the synthesis items yet? Here are the official names

The Goos (しずく shizuku, drop) are translated into Stones in the English localisation. Some of them are:
 
    Spirit Goo (闘気のしずく): Fury Stone
    Power Goo (力のしずく): Power Stone
    Blaze Goo (燃え上がるしずく): Blazing Stone
    Frost Goo (凍てつくしずく): Frost Stone
    Thunder Goo (とどろくしずく): Lightning Stone
    Shiny Goo (きらめくしずく): Dazzling Stone
    Mystery Force (満たされるチカラ): Serenity Power
    Mythril Goo (ミスリルのしずく): Mythril Stone
    Force Goo (みなぎるしずく): Energy Stone? I haven't reached Hollow Bastion, and みなぎる minagiru is translated as Energy in KHII. Verification would be most welcome.
    Gale Goo (吹き荒れるしずく): Gale Stone? Let alone End of the World.

Everything is correct except the two towards the end. I'll tell you once that hits

 

I've been watching Emiru's videos whenever he uploads new playthroughs. I update btltbl.bin in the drive whenever I find something new.

I'm only missing official english descriptions for a few things now.

 

while your at it i noticed the command 'Finish' is missing the 'h'.

It was Finis in the original US version
