By test I actually mean talk to everyone 5 or more times to see their different dialogue. Interact with every single object and make sure everything matches the US version. No one has done that yet. I purposely left a few issues in there for people to find.

my guess for him intentionally leaving issues is to see who is a good tester? i'm guessing he wanted to make sure people were being thorough with their testing and not just skimming around.

not really interested to be honest. since Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix came out today, i'll use that to play the game in English :)

I am SUPER surprised because most of the flashing words matched my version EXACTLY with only some minor differences. Honestly I wish they had just simply translated the line "Allow me— to test your strength." instead of changing it. "That power... Allow me to test your power." sounds much more menacing imo.

After checking I see they got lazy with the textboxes and kept the same sizes as the ps2 version. They even made the last sentence three lines which is not something you see often.

 

hey guys, would you guys like to start a new thread for this? the reason i ask is that i noticed it's a little hard for newcomers and people who haven't been following the thread to see what's been done and hard to find download links to current patches and such. so i figured that whoever is doing most the updates can start the thread and turn that first post into a progress and links thread. how do you guys feel about that?

 

I don't care. In other news how feasible would be to find the timing for the lines for the textboxes and cutscenes?

We could grab it from 1.5 HD, but it's one of those things we can do later.

 

The majority of the game is untranslated based of the files in the drive. If new people come after reading about the translation and download, they might get disappointed and post here asking either why isn't it done yet or asking for a date when they can expect it. Or we might get more people saying they'll help but have no idea what to do and ask a million questions.

Overall I like the idea (thread would probably be started by me anyway) but I feel we should hold off on it until the rest of the game files are on the drive. (Maybe i can quickly do them without adjusting just to get a release) Then maybe we can dedicate that new thread to updating those files.

A new thread would be nice, but as you rightly said there would just bee too many newbies signing up just to ask when it will be done and helping when they clearly can't.
