When I tuned into the stream it looked like Gmod was being played.

 

Olympus Coliseum is done but now I want to get the alignment correct.
I have figured out some of the text alignment EVT codes. I can actually fix subs that are off-screen now.

I'm going to write up a short explanation real quick.

This is why messing with codes and testing them in game on your pc is kind of required.

For the most part, here are the codes to center text in ARDs.
I've seen some others, but for the most part they are the same as the ones below.

Funny thing is I actually tested it also and showed it to Trilix last night. XD
Did you catch the slow down of one of the cutscenes when compared to the music?

Anyway, off to test out more of the patch.

 

What do you mean? Whats wrong with the slow down?

 

The music in the cutscene goes faster than the video of the cutscene. Trilix pointed it out to me when we were doing screen share in Google Hangouts so that way he could fix any possible alignment issues.

Updated the mapping arrays for the string mapper and online ARD editor:

• Added missing semicolon to the "KH1 Final Mix English EVT" map, along with an alternate period, comma, and colon (Thanks for the heads up Trilix)
• Added icons to the character tables for {iShield}, {iPotion}, and related (only affects string mapper)
• Added gummi characters+icons to the 3 EVT fonts (only affects string mapper)

 

Just wanted to post an update. (no nothing is uploaded yet, sorry!)
Right now I'm working on a bunch of things at once.

Here's my current progress:
Olympus Coliseum:
Translation complete, alignment is done for the most part.
There are only two scenes I haven't aligned only because I don't want to play the entire game to see how it looks.

I might need your guy's help. If you are up for it I need SAVE STATES of certain scenes.
This involves you playing the game for quite a while until you reach a cut-scene, up to you if you want to do this.
If you want to help me please MAKE A SAVE STATE ANYTIME BEFORE THE CUT-SCENE KICKS IN. I quickly edit them in Cheat Engine before actually applying the change, this makes alignment a lot easier so I don't have to reload the game to see my changes. But if the save state starts in the middle of a cut-scene, I don't think I can quick edit it.

PLEASE make sure to match your PCSX2 version with the same as mine here BEFORE creating save states!!

I need save states of these scenes below:
1) The scene after you beat Herc. With the whole true hero and strength of heart dialogue.
2) The scene before you fight Hades, he says a line or two of dialogue. Plus another line or two once he's defeated. (one save state before and another save state after would be nice)

Dive to the Heart (Awakening):
I have realigned some parts so now things are centered and nothing goes off-screen. (Yes Roxas that means no more "You've gained the power to FIGH" lol).
Also, I have coincidentally removed the lag during the scene before you fight Darkside. Now the music ramps up when it should.
This is probably as perfect as it's going to get until we learn how to adjust the sizes of message boxes.

Destiny Islands/Disney Castle:
Getting started on aligning them right now.
I forgot how big Destiny Islands ARDs were :(

Hollow Bastion:
I don't know who exactly is working on it. But I only have the Unknown battle cut-scenes plus locations translated.
The one ARD uploaded on the drive (not mine) is very broken so I will upload what I have soon and others can use it to work off of.

I believe the EVT font needs to be changed a bit again, I would do it myself but I'm not sure how.
The spacing is a bit large between words compared to the US version. This is part of the reason why many subs go off screen even if they are properly aligned.

I'll upload everything at once when I deem it "Complete", and I'm a huge perfectionist so I can't give you an exact date :p

 

I'll take a look at that tomorrow; iirc I can change space sizes in EVT. ;) (Thought I set it to the same as US, but ohh well. ><)

Also, when messing with save-states, remember 1) you need to be on the same PCSX2 version, or nearly same and 2) it may crash if it tries to load a file from "your" ISO with "their" IDX. That given, I'll see if I can get a save (normal save+save state, b\c why not) as close to those scenes as I can.

 

I had no idea about the emulator version info. Although now that I think about it, it does make sense. Updated my post.

EDIT: Did a rough save state transfer test by saving on unedited FM and loading on my edited version. Obviously had to change the name of the file. It worked but only until I interacted with one or two things when it crashes. I guess worse case scenario I could just grab some god mode cheat codes so I don't have to spend time fighting through 50 battles to get to Hades :P

 

The beta patch does not work on PS2 period as a heads up. I tried and it crash for me in Dive to the Heart. It crashed for Sora right before Traverse Town. These ae soft crashes BTW (music is still playing) I don't know if it's fixable or we should just make this PCSX2 exclusive

 

Well they could get fixed, on the other hand most people would rather use PCSX2 anyway due to the options for better resolution and graphics.
