Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Translation Patch (In progress)

US English files need the use "KH1 US", it covers both EVT and SYS for that game. And for ARDs, you need the EVT font. ;)

 

So, in the end, our translated .ard's should match the KH1 Final Mix English SYS format, right? If that's the case, I may have been going about translating all wrong...

 

It should match with "KH1 Final Mix English EVT" for ARDs.
I just meant that for the United States (US) version, its one option covers both types.

 

Man, I'm lost. I'll just stick to translating the stuff Jadentheman puts up.

 

So I'm in the process of translating the SLPS file, and I hit some FM-only lines. Could someone properly translate these, please? I'd rather not machine translate. Even if you can only do one, help is appreciated. ;)

Also want to note I released a new version of the English-font SLPS file. The ONLY changes is some characters like "i" and "l" are thinner now, more like they should be.

I take it you won't attempt the hanging lowercase letters y, g, and j? It's all good crazycat you did enough unless you're a perfectionist

 

To be honest, I don't think we can fix this without rewriting Square's font code. I'm still finding font parts as I go....
I did try playing with the offsets in the table I do have, and I can move them down, but then it cuts off the lower part. Ex: "y" looked like "v".

 

@Crazycatz00 you can make the patch for font files Changing the following character for portuguese translation?:

how would i replace the bin file ? my iso file is unmodded . trying to use your modded english files

 

Jadentheman, how do you get the Japanese scripts that you put up? I keep feeling like a freeloader when I translate your stuff, so I was hoping I could start doing it for myself.

 

Read the instructions. For me I used the ARD checklist plus world codes to choose which world to fully translate. Once you picked your ARD put it in the ARD reader (not edit) and it will give you the HEX readings in those txt files. You then must put the HEX in Crazycat's string table (Have it set to just Final Mix EVT). You will get the Japanese text there

 

I couldn't figure out the first few referencing importing settings, but here's the rest:

Also uploaded a complete btltbl.bin to the completed files folder on the drive. Feel free to bug test.
There are still a few strings still named BTLTBL## but I have yet to encounter them in game. If you find anything you want to change or add, let us know what you change first so all of us can have identical files.

I am using crazycatt00 IMGreplace program to replace it . but its giving me an error . i draged my kingdom hearts final mix iso and it loaded with the harshpairs or something like that . but do i drag and drop the btltbl.bin from my desktop then i hit enter . it failed . i need help..

 

You might need the PAL version of KH1 they usually carry those vowels

 

Okay i signed up to answer your question, along with other reasons...
But here is what you do:

1. Download all of completed files from here along with the tools(you can download the in-progress files too but remember they can change):

2. Put all the tools in one folder along with your Kingdom Hearts Final mix clean ISO

3. Rename your ISO to kh.iso, and double click IMGextract.exe and press enter when it tells you to then wait for it to finish extracting (you know when it is finished when it says press enter to exit at the bottom)

4.Then you need to put the completed files in the export folder (completed files in the menu folder go to the menu folder in the export folder)

5. Open up IMGreplace.exe and press enter when it tells you to, and then again (keep a backup of the original iso for future use)

6. It will ask you file to replace, this is the important part; if the files are in the export folder directory you just enter the file name (eg. btltbl.bin), however if it is within a folder within the export folder you must write the folder name then a / followed by the file name. e.g The menu files should start with Menu/ so if i want to replace sysfont.bin i would write it as menu/sysfont.bin in the program. if it says the file is bigger then the original if it does just enter y and then press enter.

7. Once you have done this with all the files just press enter twice to exit the program and you should be done

8. Enjoy!
