Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Translation Patch (In progress)

How do you edit .kmb files? I'd like to get to work on Jiminy's journal.

I have the Journal done: http://crazycatz00.x10host.com/KH/files/mod_FinalMixEnglishFilesPartial.7z. KMB files are only used there, and simple enough, so I just used a hex editor.

Oh, I didn't realize that all of them were done, I thought it was just the Ansem Reports. Although to be honest all I really wanted to do was change the last line in report 12 to "Nobodies". Hex editing I go!

EDIT: There, that's all I wanted to do.

 

Why don't you bbtbl.bin file that people already made and edited. That's all you have to do is replace the FM with the one people uploaded on these forums. Then you have to turn your extracted folder back into the ISO to change it.

 

That's what I been trying to do . But idk how to do it !!

I have that as well. It's useful for item/ability names but the descriptions are terrible. The following links are ones I've been using and are a bit more accurate.

Literally searching anything on kingdomhearts.wikia.com or khwiki.net will find what you need. Btw I'm almost done translating some FM only items on btltbl.bin that crazycatz00 didn't do and will post it soon.

 

Woah I was just starting on that. I do weapons you do accessories?

Cool then. I'll get to work on looking at the many unnamed files and finding anything translatable.
Also I forgot to upload the updated Unknown video, my render settings seem a bit too dark so I'm going to try and fix that.

 

Was there any action taken on the talk of setting up some manner of community or chat or something for this effort? I'm thinking that having communications more open than a single thread might be beneficial and prevent doing things twice...

 

Yeah I offered setting up a Facebook Group where we all could chat. There is also a file upload section for the whole group to view and download files. No one said anything lol

I'd be on board with that, though I don't think it'd be exquisitely useful if it was only you and me there. Er.... not that you're useless, or anything, but it is kind of a team effort.

If you are using FRAPS then check FORCE LOSSLESS RGB. Also upload the Xemnas ard.

I dont mind it. but i already have Crazycats and Enzineda on skype.

 

I'm going to be honest with you and say that I haven't the first idea what you're trying to tell me.

Skype works for me, but I think having a document pool through Google Drive or the like might also be beneficial.

I figure the more important people on the project should go with what works best for them collectively. I just do grunt work. ;)

Beginning to translate the SLPS file.
It's working, but man is it slow and tedious. Not to mention character limits, I cannot go longer then the original Japanese did (Hasn't made too much of a problem, in most cases).
I didn't see any tables for these strings though, they're referenced directly through the code. So this seems like the only option.
