Sure just make sure to use my checklist so I can keep track of which one you are doing!

Yep. Also what hex editing program is everyone using so I can make things easier and use what everyone else is using or what do you guys recommend. Don't really do any hex editing often but know enough to do this.

Personally, I use wxHexEditor. It supports tagging sections, and showing live what a hex value is as various number types (uint8, uint16, etc). It also has a x86 disassembler in it, iirc (useless for us, though). Basically, it makes hacking easier for me. ;)

Going to take a crack at the SLPS file?

I'll take it from you and use that. ;)
I honestly haven't gotten around to checking the extracted files, ards and what not or your tools yet. Pretty much been hovering over you guys shoulders through this. So I will check all of this out.

Call me crazy but I don't see a color code on that page.

Don't work on the intro part of the game plus destiny islands. I've been hovering over this forum as well today but haven't been able to respond. When I get home I will list everything I have done or is WIP

I've been away for a bit, looks like you guys are making great progress.
Do we know where keyblade descriptions are stored? I need to change all of them for my mod.

I updated crazycatz google doc with info on what exactly I have done so far.
If any of you have began translating we could all keep track and write each others names like how I have it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvBCRWkclDn2dHBrLXVrTEJpT3FyMTRY7OTNBNUxKSUE#gid=0

The link above as well as a shortcut to get to the string mapper & other tools are also found on crazycatz forum sig if you need to get to them later on. (Or bookmark that shizz! :D)

As for testing each others files and whatnot, it would be better if we only put completed files in our new soon to be dropbox folder. Honestly it would get annoying if I saw a dropbox notification every 5 seconds as someone was editing a file. Right now I would say I am 80% FULLY complete with "btltbl.bin" so if and when we share a folder, that will be the first thing I place in for you all to bug test.

Yes, all are in "btltbl.bin". I'm currently in the process on finishing that file. But like crazycatz said earlier:
This makes it super frustrating to change sentences, especially since the item descriptions in english are twice as long as the description in japanese.

To crazycatz, would it be possible if an extractor/inserter were made specifically for this file? Would that then fix the problem of a character limit in hex? If I recall, I was able to add extra text without error while translating with ARDs so maybe this process would work similarly?

Also a bit off topic but I have one more letter to add to your mapper :p
    0x19 0x5E = 燃
    (Needed to find Blaze Shard/Gem/Stone)

That letter currently exists in FM SYS as 0x1A 0xC7 but it may be incorrect

If you are interested in this i'm developing an editor for the btltbl.bin...
Also, can someone tell me how to extract the files from the US iso?

Crazycatz, when will you release the new tool for the ISO editing?

My ability lists should fit into the descriptions pretty easily, they're pretty short.

Does DropBox really notify on every change? lol

It should be possible to make one, just have to figure out it's format. One of the things I'm looking at...

And yes, ARDs can have text added or removed and the tool handles it. ;)

    燃 is now 19 5E
    {燃} is now 1A C7

Ok, you got btltbl. Still interested in its format myself, though. :p

Extracting from the US ISO... Should be as simple as taking IMGextract.exe, _HashPairs.log, and an English kh.iso and extraction like normal. Are you getting an error?

The new ISO tool works fine atm, just de-hardcoding a few variables in it. Also thinking of making some sort of cache for the compression, since my method is quite slow. ><

So whats the easiest way to find out if the translation went well. I did a little for Wonderland. "Oh, my fur and Whiskers! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late! Do i need to play the game up to that point to find out?

Yup. I just grabbed some final mix game saves off gamefaqs and imported them into my pcsx2 mem card. some of them are saved at different parts of the game. That's how I was able to make that unknown battle video because someone saved right before that moment. Also, don't use save states.

I know. There are only 2 saves and nothing before wonderland.
