Sora returned Roxas' solid shake with one of his own, the brunette's eyes not leaving the teen in front of him. It felt good to be on good terms with Roxas again. It was at that moment that he realized just how much stress he had been under when he and Roxas were not on the same page. But that was very different now.

 

After a moment, Roxas pulled his hand back from the handshake. Now that he was forgiven, and things were to be set right again, he felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Things were going to be all right again, he could feel it. Even if it did take a little time, everything would turn out okay. As long as all four of them had each other.

 

Sora looked down when Roxas withdrew his hand, and he did the same. His hand naturally moved back to his side as a light breeze began to blow, shifting the Keyblade bearer's spiky brown hair. The teen looked up again, his eyes finding the pair identical to his.

 

Roxas offered Sora a small smile when they met gazes. A small breeze came from behind the blond, blowing his short spikes forward a little.

 

Sora returned Roxas' small smile with one of his own, his eyes staying connected with his best friend's. Things were all right now...thank goodness. If they hadn't made up, the future would have been very, very uncertain. At least now they know they can always depend on each other. Sora had a feeling Roxas wouldn't betray his trust again.

 

Roxas kept his eyes locked with Sora's for a moment. He felt a more peaceful aura surrounding them, the tension fading finally. It was better to know that things had been resolved. And Roxas guessed he and Sora had the girls to thank for that. After all, if it weren't for them, they wouldn't have solved things today.

 

A thought suddenly entered Sora's mind and he broke the stare he held with Roxas, his eyes moving over to the side. The girls were still sitting on that bench nearby, the area around them pretty peaceful. No threat. Some tension left him, tension that he didn't even realize he had until that moment.

 

Roxas turned his head in curiosity when Sora did, his eyes falling on the redhead and blonde still sitting on the bench nearby. He and Sora had been standing there for a while, talking things out, which meant leaving the two girls alone. His eyes scanned the area, searching for any possible threats. After what happened, Roxas had been very over-protective of Namine, but she didn't seem to mind; in fact, she seemed to like it that way.

 

Out of the corner of his eye, Sora noticed that Roxas was looking at the girls as well. We may as well head over now, he thought to himself. After all, it seemed as if the conversation he and Roxas had been having was over, so there wasn't much point in just standing there and leaving the girls alone. That was completely unnecessary, and he didn't like the idea of leaving them by themselves longer than what was required.

 

Roxas let his eyes fall on Namine again when he didn't find any harm toward her or Kairi, who weren't sitting that far away. He turned his head to Sora now, seeing his friend looking in the same direction. "Maybe we should let them know that everything's okay again," he suggested softly. Besides, the girls were the ones who set this up, so they deserved to know...not that they wouldn't have found out anyway. Plus, Roxas's protective side was kicking in since he was away from Namine for a little while. He wanted to be by her side again.

 

Sora nodded slightly. Roxas was probably thinking the same thing he was, though he hadn't said it aloud. It didn't really matter though, since they both wanted to go to the girls now. "Sounds like a good idea," Sora agreed. He turned to look at Roxas for a brief moment before turning his gaze forward, heading toward the girls.

 

Roxas nodded once and then started to follow Sora's lead, walking over to both of the girls on the park bench.

Kairi sat calmly on the bench beside Namine, patiently waiting for the boys to finish their conversation. She hadn't been that far away, so she had been able to hear a few things, but soon she had blocked it out, not wanting to eavesdrop on Sora and Roxas.

 

Sora kept his eyes on the bench the girls were on, and then as he got closer, he set his eyes on Kairi. She looked pretty calm, and he was glad for that. He never wanted her to feel anxious, or afraid, or hurt. She was his princess, the love of his life. His world pretty much revolved around her. It felt so natural that he knew that it was right that they were together. He couldn't imagine life without her.

Namine had her hands set in her lap, and she fiddled with her fingers slightly as she waited. Her gaze rested on the movement, her soft blue eyes surprisingly calm. Though she was a little nervous about Roxas and Sora, she just had a feeling things would be fine.

 

Roxas brought a hand to the back of his head, rubbing over his hair a little before he let his hand fall to his side again. His blue eyes were on the blonde in front of him now as he grew closer to the bench. Even from behind he could tell Namine was looking down. But she was quiet, and he knew that she had been patient about their discussion, waiting for them.

Kairi kept her eyes focused on the lake in front of her, the water sparkling from the sun. She wasn't aware of the boys approaching from behind, the girl's attention directed ahead of her. She couldn't say there was much going on, except for the sounds of laughter and kids playing in the park. That was always a great thing to hear. It reminded her of the day not too long ago when she and her friends had had fun here. Kairi blinked once, her eyes shifting to legs. She hoped the boys made up; nothing would be the same if they didn't. But there was this feeling in her heart that things would turn out all right again.

 

Sora noticed that Kairi wasn't aware of the fact that the two boys were coming towards her, and he almost wished she did know. He didn't want to startle her, coming up from behind. As he came closer, he walked over to the side, hoping that Kairi would see him out of the corner of her eye. That would probably lessen the chance of her being frightened, and Sora definitly didn't want her to feel that emotion. Not now, not ever.

A faint breeze came through the area, bringing some of Namine's blonde hair off her shoulder. Without thought, she brought up one hand, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. She lifted her gaze to the lake, seeing some of the trees blowing gently.

 

Kairi caught movement out of the corner of her eye and turned her head in that direction, her violet-blue eyes falling on the boy she loved. She felt her lips forming a soft smile when he was within her sight, a natural reaction when she saw Sora.

Roxas saw Namine lift her head, apparently looking at the lake within view. He glanced at the water for a second as he came around the side of the girl, noticing that, like Kairi, she also wasn't aware of his or Sora's presence.

 

Sora's eyes caught onto the smile forming on Kairi's lips, and a small smile appeared on his face as well. He was glad he hadn't startled her, that being his number one concern at the moment. Normally protection was number one, but since he was so close to the red head, he could see there was no threat surrounding them. And that was a great relief.

Namine saw a faint movement out of the corner of her eye, and she immediatly turned her head, seeing her boyfriend coming around beside her. She exhaled silently, glad to see him again. Some previously unknown tension left her, the girl feeling relieved that her guardian angel was nearby again.

 

Kairi's smile grew faintly, her eyes connecting with Sora's bright blue. Gosh, she loved those eyes. They were beautiful, and loving, just like the boy they belonged to.

Roxas met Namine's eyes and he felt a smile forming at her expression. She looked happy, and that was an emotion he loved to see in her. She was his life, the girl he lived for every day. He was her guardian angel, always nearby and watching over her with love. Of course, Roxas was just the guardian. Namine was the angel.

 

Sora stopped right by the bench, his eyes not leaving Kairi's. He was still standing right next to the side of the bench, beside Kairi. Slowly, he lowered himself to the ground kneeling on one knee in the soft green grass. "Thank you," he said softly, communicating through his heart as he held Kairi's gaze. Though he wasn't too thrilled about the idea of her working behind his back, in this case, things really did turn out all right. And he was thankful that Kairi had played a part in this.

Namine saw a smile starting to form on Roxas' lips, and she felt one start to appear on hers as well. Gosh, he had such bright blue eyes. They were always burning with warmth and comfort. But even more than that, determination was obvious in their depths. And Namine knew that was directed toward protecting her. Roxas was determined to protect her in everything he did, and she loved the security of that.

 

Kairi felt her smile grow a little more at the warmth that suddenly impacted her heart, Sora's heart communicating with hers. She didn't reply audibly, or silently in this case, but just let her smile do the talking. Kairi nodded faintly, her smile one of comfort, as well as happiness. Apparently things were okay now, and that was wonderful to know.

Roxas stayed where he was, standing beside Namine. He let his hand find the wooden back, lightly letting it rest next to Namine's shoulder. The girl was having a smile appear on her lips, and he was glad to see it. Happiness was one of the most important things when it came to Namine's well-being, and Roxas was going to try and provide it every day.
