Hey everyone. Yesterday, Chev updated KH-Vids with the first scan that surfaced from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. As you know, Pinocchio is the new world that will be included in this upcoming Nintendo DS title. New sceenshots from both the Pinocchio world and “The City of Bellsâ€, based on The Hunchback of Notre-Dame can be found in the screenshots.

Also, here's the info compiled from the weekly Jump issue:

      But think about this.

In Wonderland the Queen of Hearts was punishing Alice and he stood up to her. If the judgement of the man is clouded, Sora will do the smart thing.

He only stood up to her once he heard that Alice was accused of trying to steal the Queen's heart, since he knew the heartless were behind it. And it doesn't look like Frollo's accusing gypsies of stealing hearts, just describing them as bad guys. But we'll have to wait and see.

I'd probably go with Corey Burton or Peter O'Toole.

But even before he heard what it was over, he was concerned for Alice.

If they tell him to track down a girl for crimes, he may be skeptical unless he thinks it's Maleficent or a Dream Eater.

Hmm... Not sure why the Katakana for Quasi's name is "Kashimodo" rather than "Kuasimodo." Ah, well. =P

In French "Quasimodo" is pronounced the same way as "Kasimodo", the English Disney version got the name pronunciation wrong.
I suppose the French novel was translated in Japanese long before the Disney movie, "Kashimodo" is probaby the Japanese translation they chose back then.

      ~UPDATE~

This is some info from the info in the jump issue regarding 3D. Belly of the giant whale? Could it be that it's also inside Monstro?

If so, it could mean that "new worlds" may just be different locations with already known characters.

Knowing Frollo's views of gypsies, I'm sure his descriptions would fit under something close to what someone would describe Maleficent. But I do have faith Sora will do the right thing in the end.
    9. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
Of course! He's Sora, nobody doubts that he'll do the right thing when he's figured it out after an hour of being manipulated.

They'll always utilize his arrogance for their own personal benefit. I just wonder if he'll remember that Maleficent died for his sake in TWTNW.

Wait, I thought Maleficent survived since she was in Re:Coded.
    11. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
      Yeah, somehow.
But don't forget, she was also beaten again in Re:Coded along with Pete.

You never know though, she came back after having been killed in the original game. Sora probably assumes it could happen again.
    12. Patman
      Patman
Huh ? In Re-Coded she was just a program created from Jiminy' s KH1 journal (erased by Namine, then tampered by DiZ).

For all we know DDD will mostly happen in a dream, so storywise everything' s possible. Maleficient singing la cucaracha, the Pope humming along, Michael Jackson dancing la macarena, you name it ...
    13. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
Ah, yes. I always WAS confused by her re-appearance in that title.

True, though the worlds "submerged in sleep" have to be awakened. I wonder what happens when Sora and Riku manage to do this? Will they disappear from the map? Can they still be accessed after that?
      The possibilities are endless.

Wait, really? But don't you remember how Pete explains how he entered the data world? How he accidentally got sucked in when Mickey and the others did when that light appeared. And once Pete took a look around, he like...called her over to see the place. owO

Yes, but I thought he just called Data Maleficent, he had a screen of Data Hollow Bastion right in front of him.
Humm, here' s what the Kingdom Hearts Wiki says :

Having apparently survived the destruction of The Castle that Never Was, Maleficent was at a loss with her plans with the Heartless gone, her control over the darkness weakened, all her allies save for Pete defeated, and still without a base of operations. Desperate to make yet another comeback, the sorceress sends Pete to Disney Castle to spy on the king and bring her up to date on events. Pete eventually enters the journal world when Mickey turned the journal into a Data World to find answers to unsolved questions. Maleficent is summoned into the data world by Pete when he is sent there.
Together they decide that they could use the data world to forward Maleficent's original plans to find Kingdom Hearts and fill the worlds with darkness. The pair plan to build up a huge army of Heartless under their complete control by using the Journal's data on the creatures and then send them into the real world to conquer Disney Castle and the rest of the worlds. Maleficent planned to either destroy Mickey or simply leave him trapped in the Journal's data world.
She reappears in person in the data version of Agrabah. At the entrance to the Cave of Wonders, she strikes down the data version of Sora and destroys his data Keyblade. After, she gloats and summons Shadows. Data-Sora later fights and defeats her in her Dragon form. Later, when the debugging of the journal is complete and the Data World is being deleted, Jiminy Cricket remembers that Pete and Maleficent never left the Data World. Data-Sora rushes back to the Data Hollow Bastion to save them, and finds them fighting the corrupted version of Sora's Heartless, who is completely immune to their attacks. The Data-Sora attempts to save them, but they are both deleted before he can do anything.
However, after the battle, Data-Sora and King Mickey walk outside to find them alive, standing next to Data-Riku, who explains that there was a "rift in the data" where he was able to rescue them. Maleficent points out that this makes them even, referring to when she helped them in Kingdom Hearts II. Data-Riku then escorts Pete and Maleficent out of the Data World. A digital version of both later appear when Data-Sora goes to Castle Oblivion and attack him before leaving.

So ... Maleficent and Data Maleficent just happen to never meet each other ? There' s no Data Maleficent in Data Hollow Bastion ? Right ...
    16. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
Right. The Data World was made from Jiminy's Journal. Maleficent was already "defeated" by the time they got to CO and the journal was messed up so Data Maleficent didn't exist.

The closest we get to her is in the data Castle Oblivion.

"Appearance of Demons in the city". For a moment i was thrilled but then i realized that those "Demons" are the Dream Eaters.

As for Pinocchio's world i am a bit confused, as i do not remember Monstro swallowing the entire city in which Pinocchio lived. But it's Kingdom Hearts, isn't it.
    18. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
Yep. Even if it didn't happen in the movie, Kingdom Hearts is part of a whole different storyline. They might try to stay true to the source material, but it'll obviously stray from it for certain things.

Please don't let there be a maze in Monstro...Please don't let there be a maze in Monstro.
    20. ShibuyaGato
      ShibuyaGato
Hopefully there won't be, but since Monstro and Wonderland are known for their frequent mazes I doubt it won't happen.
