By far, the most complete, polished, professional-looking fan dub to come out of CGNET Productions yet, thanks to great direction from Mike, exceptional aid with sound effects and editing from William Morris, and possibly the most adept vocal cast assembled yet for a KH-Vids fan dub production! Everyone involved (including all those who auditioned) should be greatly commended for you hard work and dedication. This was well worth the extra wait. And now, to follow greater_bloo's EXTREMELY detailed critique XP (thanks for that!), here we go:

Vocal Team
Axel: Voiced by Newkidaye - I believe the last time I heard you as Lea/Axel was in the Birth By Sleep production for the "Ventus Meets Lea & Isa" scene (sorry if I'm mistaken), and you've still got great similarity to Quinton Flynn. This time, it wasn't as cocky as I would have expected, but still a well-done performance!

Beat: Vocied by Shadowsvoice - (Before I continue, I just have to say, I'm so glad TWEWY is featured in this game! Worthy replacement for Final Fantasy.) It's a shame Beat wasn't featured more in this trailer, but I'm sure he will be in future videos. Like greater_bloo said, great timing and emotion! Solid performance!

Frollo: Voiced by Ross (PaW) - Good sinister voice overall, the 2nd line could have had a tiny bit more viciousness, but for such a difficult character to replicate, you've done an admirable job. Congrats!

Jiminy Cricket: Voiced by HeroicRoxas - Sounds close enough to Jiminy and emotion was done appropriately. Also difficult to critique since it's only one line, but from what I've heard you fit this role rather well!

Joshua: Voiced by Genshie - Genshie my friend, it's been a while since our fan dubs with your Mickey and Xemnas (and Goofy XP), but I'm glad to be a part of a production again with a great voice actor like you! Joshua's a very complex and interesting character, so I think you grasped his arrogance and intelligence completely in the first line. Some of mysteriousness was lost in the 2nd line and the rhythm seemed a little awkward, but that's probably due to the mouth coordination. I don't know what happened to the third line you have, but I REALLY wish I knew what is was!!! Haha. You were a great choice for Joshua; great work!

Phoebus: Voiced by HeroicRoxas - Another one liner for you; Kevin Kline (the original actor) is rather talented and difficult to replicate, but your voice choice worked just as well, very heroic. No complaints, good job again!

Pinocchio: Voiced by Saru4life - I've never heard a better Pinocchio dubber in my life. Perfectly executed, good pitch, spot-on emotion! You have great range as a voice actor; I'm very impressed!

Maleficent: Voiced by Refi-Chan - Returning as Maleficent and doing a damn-fine job of it! You also of great range, from evil queens to powerful heroins (Aqua & Kairi). I have zero complaints for you performance and I'm very happy to be in another production with you! Smashing job as always!

Mickey: Voiced by Chaser of the Dawn - Good god man, have you ever done Mickey before?! Because if not, then you were born with Walt Disney's vocal chords because you nailed him! I'd send some samples to Disney if I were you just in case Bret Iwan mysteriously disappears! (lol) I did Mickey in the Birth by Sleep fan dub production, and I kinda wish you had done him then too! (Although, then I wouldn't have had a part haha.) No complaints, can't WAIT to hear more from you!

Neku: Voiced by Mike (CGNET) - Don't be so hard on yourself Mike! (I'm not sugar-coating this, I promise.) There wasn't much of an English voice to base this on, but you've got the tone and pitch nailed down, especially for new territory! Now, you just need to give Neku a little more of the attitude he gives off towards people. He's not so much depressed as he is annoyed. He's also a hero, so he shouldn't sound so weak; you're final line definitely had Neku's emotion in the right direction, so you're very capable for this character. Just study Neku's motives and relationships a little more and you'll be golden, I promise ;) . You fit Neku well, so good job, and I can't wait to see you improve in future videos!

Riku: Voiced by Hlmactiii - I forgot that I'd done him in the Re:Coded fan dub promotions! Wow time goes fast … I was ok haha. Here and there.

Rhyme: Voiced by Saru4life - Just as good as Pinocchio, spot on with emotion and pitch. You gave Rhyme the right amount of innocence and hopefulness that she needed. Everything else I need to say is below …

Shiki: Voiced by Saru4life - Ok, you've definitely got the most roles in this production hands down, and that's because you're versatile, emotional, and give each one of your characters their own life. Shiki has just the right charm, and pitch/emotion is spot-on AGAIN! I'm glad to be in a production with such talented actors as you! (along with the rest of this cast!)

Sora: Voiced by Zekkai - The star of the show! XP I know you and I have been doing Sora's for different productions from time to time, and each is different and equally successful. You do a fine job of portraying Sora, or just a confident, happy-go-lucky teenage hero overall! I don't know what to think of Square Enix these days as to what voice (KH1 or KH2) belongs in Sora's body, ever since Re:COM & Re:Coded … I think you pitch was just a teeny - tiny bit too low, but I really didn't have a problem with it, since it worked well and all you emotion was great! The only line that was weird to me was Sora's line to Xemnas, because your emotion was questioning when Sora's face and actions were angry. The final line was VERY epic! You are well deserving of this part Zekkai, and I'm glad to be voicing alongside you! Awesome work!

Vanitas: Voiced by Greater_bloo - Great to be working with you again too, Greater_bloo! Now, I know you voices Vanitas in the Birth By Sleep production, so isn't Vanitas and Sora supposed to have the same voice? … I don't know XD. You and Zekkai both fit Sora's voice, so I guess it's fine haha. It sounded very dark and menacing, and it's only one line so … Excellent job! I really hope Vanitas has a huge part in this game cause I can't wait to hear more!

Xemnas: Voiced by TheVader74 - Let me just get the 1 complaint out before I say anything else: your Xemans and Yen Sid seemed to have the same pitch level, so it sounds almost like the same voice. But you do such a deep manly voice so well, I really don't mind in the least bit! Your Xemnas fit right in, and wasn't the most work you had in this production, but I just wanted to punch Xemnas in the face when I heard your voice because it took me right back to KH2! (good times) All I'm trying to say is you're a perfect pick for Xemnas, Xehanort's Heartles, Ansem, all of them! Great emotion, great job!

Yen Sid: Voiced by TheVader74 - Now this is dedication! You have so many lines I can't believe your vocal chords didn't snap! Throughout every part of this promo, you were there explaining every important detail to the audience with wise inflections and great clarity. I would hate to say you're typecast, but … XD you're so talented at these parts! You have great strength as a voice actor, and I have no complaints whatsoever! I bow down to your greatness.

Cat: Voiced by Atiragrame3 - Sounded just like a Cat! XD Good job.

Donald: Voiced by SonicTheVA - Best Donald there is! Glad to work with you again too!

Goofy: Voiced by Newkidaye - Great Goofy (although it was hard to hear you and Donald with Mickey and Sora all cluttered together with you), but I know you'll be great from past performances!

Pete: Voiced by William Morris - Sound identical to Pete! I wanna hear more of this! Nicely done.

Minnie: Voiced by Atiragrame3 - Just a gasp XP, but a good one! Sounds like Minnie to me.


Production Team

SFX: William Morris - That must have taken a hell of a long time, man! That's a lot of hard work from your part, and there was nary a moment missing the right sound fx. Good picking and masterful execution! I'm very happy you're talent is used for this production!

Audio/Video: William Morris - Same as above. At few part, some of the line levels were mixed, but overall it was coherent and well edited. Once again, congrats on all your hard work!

Director: Mike (CGNET) - You're love for Kingdom Hearts and this community makes you one dedicated director, and an honor to work for and with. The time you put into these productions really is wonderful. You should be profoundly proud of your work, your team, and especially yourself. I don't know where the Kingdom Hearts community would be without you! (Wow, pretty epic statement, but very true.) I wish there was a way to virtually shake one's hand haha.


Wow greater_bloo, you were right, that took 2 hours! Sheesh … but it was worth it, because everyone who was a part of this production from it's inception to where we are now is to be greatly recognized and commended for your hard work. I'm very proud to be a part of this and I look forward to the great work we put forward in the future! Thank you Mike for making me a part of this for nearly 3 years now!

 

Wow, that was beautiful Hlmactiii. I feel so emotional right now. I'm like tearing up reading this, seriously no lies. It's SO true. I feel so honored to be able to do what I do and I'm so glad I enjoy every second of it. I think I'm also SO honored to have a strong and talented team like many of you guys. I wouldn't trade it for anything. At the end of the day, I can say I've had six years of experience with the Kingdom Hearts community and four years with the fandub production. I think it's a major impact that has released upon the community.

As far as your role, I loved each and every line that you delivered. I didn't get much time to talk to you and Greater_bloo, but we have to all talk in a group chat sometime soon.

I like what I do, but its people like you guys that I enjoy to be around. I feel like this was something meaningful and I would never trade it for anything else. "All for one and one for all!"

 

Thank you! And I would be so down for a group chat soon, it'll be another great way to grow together as a group. I absolutely agree with everything you've said. I think what makes this all so special is that we share not 1, but 2 loves: Kingdom Hearts, and acting. Bringing together a group like this who all share in so many common interests makes for very strong and special connections between one another that without, I probably wouldn't be whole. You definitely got it right with "All for one and one for all!" :D

I don't know what happened to that third line because I am dead sure I sent it in the previous day with multiple takes to your email. I guess it didn't go through. Oh well.

Thanks for the compliment Hlmactiii, I too hope Vanitas has a huge part. Not because I want more to voice but I feel he was way too simple of a character in Birth by Sleep and a bit of a missed opportunity as a villain.

What I thought of him in Birth by Sleep is that he was a bit of a fan service character who was put into the story for the sole purpose of seeing an evil version of Sora. Sure it adds a shock element once you figure out what's behind the mask but other than that he doesn't have a will of his own, his will is Master Xehanort's will, he literally existed just to be the bad guy to Ven's good guy. It'll be interesting to see why he's around now though since he is conversing with Sora. Maybe like Ven, Vanitas drifted into another's heart, Xehanort's heart since he is saying the same lines as him. And he wants to help Sora get Ven back (Why else would he be interested in the hearts within Sora?) so that if Vanitas can somehow come back as well, he plans to create the X-blade again. Though this is all speculation.

I do wonder how Nomura will explain his appearance in 3D, though I hope it isn't some dream scene/Sora's imagination.

Anyways Mike, that group talk sounds really interesting and fun! XD For me personally without the fan dub production I probably would've lost interest a long while ago. It gave me an interest in acting as a whole, while also fueling my love for Kingdom Hearts. Seriously nothing is better at getting to know the characters more than taking a more detailed look at their lines and trying your own spin at it. Not to mention all the people I've met because of it! So thanks Mike without this I'd be a totally different person now!

Also yes NemesisPrime, that is generally what an understudy is ...you're not planning on doing anything to make him "not available" are you? lol I'm kidding. :P Congrats! Makes me curious as to what your Xemnas sounds like.
