Kingdom Hearts: Chasing Shadows

The fire hit Xenree, scorching Xenree's Organization XIII coat until all that remained was a crude skin layer of complete black armored scales. Another bolt of white light struck Xenree's armor and scattered. Rounding back, the light rammed into her again, dissipating as it struck her armor.

Riku gritted his teeth as he waited for the inevitable strike. When it didn't come, he glanced back. Akii, in all her small glory, gripped Nickolai's Keyblade in her small white hands. "That's enough."

Renee stared at Xenree's changed body with wide brown eyes, "This can't be...the beginning...of the Impact?!"

Sei snarled, "You...what have you done?!" The skin on the sides of his eyes tore, revealing a pure, glowing red substance that wasn't blood.

The world fell silent... Above Agrabah, a large black mass descended slowly towards the ground, casting a shadow across the surface. Spikes of pure darkness poked through the clouds. They were solid, like rock, and connected to something far larger. Xenree's body lurched upwards, her eyes snapping wide open, but instead of glittering silver iris, pure, blood red eyes stared up at the descending mass. "....u....dis...." she half gurgled as he body shifted back to the normal skin tone and silver eyes she was born with.

Standing atop the Cave of Wonders, a man stood in a puddle of residule darkness. "It appears...our time has come... The First Impact has begun....the end of the world as they know it will end with this beginning. The Dark Kingdom will take root in this universe and spread like a virus." Closing red eyes of his own, the man cracked a small smile, barely enough to lift the corners of his mouth. "I suppose....the worlds should prepare for their end and the rise of a new Ruler and God to pray to."

 

Carrie's eyes widened at the sighs of Sei's mother's changing form and Sei's eyes. She backed up in horror... What the **** happened... How the hell had this happned... What had she caused... Worst of all... what had she caused to hurt Sei... She feel to her knees and felt the world go back around her. The last thing she though, before she passed out was "What is the Impact?"

OOC: Holy **** Twilight...

 

Nox, much like everyone else, was staring at what was unfolding around them. She knows what she's doing, Nox thought to himself as he saw what was happening with Xenree. He could feel the earth shaking underneath him, but he could barely keeping himself balanced. His heart was aching as the events unfolded around them.

"What's going on," Sora cried out. "Riku, we have to stop this!"

 

Shinji was silent, stopping hsi battle wth Nox and heard Sora as he jumped back to stand near Sora. "How do you suggest that huh? I'm all ears for it." He asked Sora immediately, taking notice of the girl he saved faint.

OOC: SHort yeah.

 

His keyblade gripped in Akii's hands, Nikolai growled. "Would you like to die with him?" He threatened before getting side-tracked by the enormous spiked mass descended toward the ground. He also saw Xenree's body going towards it. He tried to speak, but no words would come out. He had never seen such a large mass before in his life. He turned back to Riku and Akii, "It seems out time is limited. If the girl interferes any longer, I assure you, today will be both of your final days.

 

Kirra seemed to lose all focus on Larxene with everything that was going on. In an instant, she collapsed to the ground, crying in pain. Alexander, noticing, lost all focus on Nox and ran to Kirra. He felt her trembling in his arms. He remembered the days when they were younger, and she would come to him for comfort whenever there was some kind of storm. Kirra although didn't remember anything at all. She did, however, feel something familiar about him. It didn't matter now; it felt like the world was going to collapse around them.

"Well, it seems to have to do something with her," Sora said, pointing at Xenree. "How about we knock her right out of the air. Maybe that'll stop whatever this First Impact business is!"

Sora barely reacted to a fiery Keyblade being thrown his way. It was Nox who threw it towards him, enraged. "You will not harm my Queen, Keyblade master! Anyone who dares to harm her or interfere with our mission shall be exterminated." Nox began his battle with Sora and his companions, hoping to buy Xenree some more time.

 

Xenree fell from the sky, her energy drained for the moment....

A man in black blurred by Sora and his friends, skidding to a halt where Xenree would land and jumped straight up. Catching the black haired woman and landing back on the ground without so much as a grunt. He cast golden eyes towards Sora and smiled. "You can't stop the First Impact. Prevent the Second Impact and you might just save the world....fail...and the world will suffer until the Third Impact and the revival of the Dark World." He lifted Xenree's head and crooned to her, "You shouldn't have exerted yourself so much so soon. I know you miss it...but it'll come in it's own time." Bending his head, he covered Xenree's lips with his own in an all-encompassing kiss.

Riku set Akii down and summoned A Way To Dawn, "Stay here, Akii." She pouted, her large blue eyes staring up at him, "But papa..." Sliding her back with a foot, Riku narrowed his light blue eyes on Nickolai, "You're insane if you think this is the time for a fight. Do you even see that thing up there? If we don't hurry...nothing will stop that thing and we'll be crushed!"

Renee grabbed Sora's arm, "Run! Run away! NOW! If you are the Keyblade Master, you'll leave this place..." Memories Renee had no recollection of having before came flooding into her mind. About Xenree...about the man beside her...and...about the black, spiked mass that was falling on their heads.

Sei felt an old tug towards his mother and the man holding her now. He wanted to cry out like a lost child to them. But...things could not go back to the way he knew them as. His mother said he'd betrayed her. She wouldn't accept him like this.

 

Nikolai contemplated what Riku said. He was right, if they stayed there, they would would inevitably be crushed."Rrrgh...You may be right...but my Queen is more important than my life! If she falls, then I have failed my mission! I will not let some pathetic fool keep me from obeying my orders!" He yelled, his eyes glowing with rage. "If I die today, it will have been for my Queen. It is because of her that I am where I am today, and it is because of her that I have gained the strength to fight you! And it is because of her that I will end you NOW! End of the world or not!" Nikolai said as charged at Riku.

 

Nox's heart was filled with rage. It was the same feeling he had when he was dealing with Xemnas. The man in the black coat was tainting his beloved Queen. Unfocused, he felt Sora's attack knock him back into a wall. He quickly got up, noticing that Sora was being dragged away by someone who reminded him of Xenree. He made his way over to Larxene and the rest of the Organization XII members who were reserected. "We have no more part to play in this," He told them. "I saw we go back to the Castle and await our orders there."

Although it was against everything Sora believed, the girl seemed to know what she was talking about. "I can't just leave the world like this," Sora told her. "We can't retreat now."

Alexander on the other hand took her advice. With Kirra in his arms, he carried her away from the disaster zone.

 

Shinji stood beside Sora and spoke. "I know how you feel but it seems like we won't be able to stop this 'First Impact' right now, they spoke of a Second and Third meaning their plans are much more broader than Agrabah, listen to the woman for now until we can figure this out." He looked at Renee briefly pulling Sora.

 

OOC: Just reminding before everyone flees the area or the world all together, that Carrie unconscious right now..

 

Xenree shoved the black robed man away from her, standing on her own. "You...I can't...remember." He smiled gently and winked as if he knew an important secret, "Don't worry about it. It'll all come back as soon as the Second Impact begins again. For now..you should go back to your Castle." Xenree nodded slowly and opened a large dark corridor. She gave Sei a soft, motherly look and stepped into the darkness, followed by the others.

Riku slashed at Nickolai and jumped back with Akii clinging to his leg now. "I don't have time for this. Sora, let's get out of here! NOW!" Running towards Sora, Akii opened a wavering dark corridor directly to their gummi ship.

Sei watched his mother disappear and the black, spiked mass slowly descend before shuffling back over to Carrie. "Forgive me..." He picked her up and dragged her into Akii's dark corridor with Riku and Sora and Renee.

 

With no time to wonder what was going on, Keel ran followed behind everyone into Akii dark corridor.

 

"Right," Sora said. He ran into the dark corridor, shortly followed by Alexander and Kirra. For him, it didn't feel right to leave Agrabah to fall into darkness. What's going to happen to Aladdin and Jasmine, Sora asked himself, returning to the gummi ship. He was taken aback though, looking at the new faces that have joined them on their journey.

Alexander did his best to explain to Kirra that they were, in fact, siblings. No matter how much he explained, she didn't believe him. In the end though, she decided to just go along with what he was saying. Right now wasn't quite the time for them to be arguing over such things. She kept remembering Larxene and how purely opposite they both were.

Nox walked through his dark portal, entering Castle Oblivion once again with the Organization right behind him. He acted calmly for now, wondering how Xenree was doing. He turned to her. "What's our plan now," Nox asked her.

 

Renee patted Sei's head as he gripped Carrie's hand, "She'll be alright. You're...Xenree's son, right?" He nodded, his silver hair falling over his eyes as he stared at the ground, "That's right...I'm her son. My name is Seiren, but I've called myself Sei in the meantime because...she used to call me that...before the world collapsed under our feet." Renee gestured to Sora and Riku, "You two should really listen to this boy. I think he can explain what that black thing was in the sky."

Riku loomed over Sei, his silver/gray hair blocking the light, "Well then...tell us what it is. After all...this thing is what you and she called the First Impact. Obviously you both know something about it."

Xenree shoved aside Xaldin, who was trying to help her into her chair, "Get out of my way!" She made a sweeping gesture and the shadows in the room ripped away from the corners and walls and formed into a black ball in front of her. "With the First Impact beginning...we must not faulter in our task now. I won't allow for mistakes!" The black ball's underside took the same shape as the spikes descending on Agrabah and the top flattened out. "Progress is good... When the Second Impact ends it will be recognizable again. Once more as the Dark World that it was in the glory of it's reign!"

 

After Riku and Akii ran off, Nikolai decided it was better to head back like everyone else. He opened a dark portal back to the castle and went through. He arrived in the same room as everyone else. "This isn't over, Riku. One day, we will finish this. Once and for all." He thought as he stood by the other Organization members and Nox.

 

Shinji too amnaged to retreat as well as he lsitened in the conversation, deciding to hold hsi introduction to everyone until this First Impact was expalined.

When Carrie opened her eyes, she looked up to find Sei looking at her. "Sei..." she trailed as she went into a sitting position. She looked around to see Renee as well as others including (but not limited too)a brown haired boy she guessed was Sora, a sliver haired boy she guessed was Riku, and the boy who had saved her ass. She held Sei's hand and looked towards Sora and Riku. "You two must be Sora and Riku right? I've heard a lot about you guys from Leon and the other. I'm Carrie," She then looked at Sei and sighed (no pun intended) "I guess all this First Impact crap was all my fault, hun?" Once more she sighed. "If there's one thing Lea and I had in common it wass our short tempers... but hell I ain't even sure if I should call Lea, lea anymore... Maybe I just ought to call him Axel..."

 

Sei rubbed his head, "The First Impact is when the dark world of Zu Vendis enters the universe in the atmosphere of one single world. It marks the existence of the Higher Being. Who that is, I don't know. I only know what my father taught me. The Second Impact is when Zu Vendis is visible in all the worlds no matter where you are. You see...it exists beside each world, feeding off of the dark emotions in people's hearts. Like the Heartless and Nobodies. The Third Impact....Zu Vendis' initiation into a new universe is complete and it will begin to devour the universe slowly. It's what it does... It's the home of my mother and I."

Riku stood shocked by Sei's explanation. "This is insane... A world of darkness...devouring our universe? Is there nothing we can do to stop it?"

Sei's silver eyes pierced through Riku, "You'd have to kill the being that created Zu Vendis. Demise. The one my mother worships like a God."

 

"You're telling us to kill a God?" He asked Sei with a tone of disbelief. " Not holding back on what spells the end are you? I'll admit these Impacts must be stopped but the first one already begun, so we should see this Zu Vendis in Agrabah's atmopshere." He decuded and uncrossed his arms, leant against the wall witha leg crossed over the other.

"But why does your mother crave the end of this universe and create the new one?" He asked him once again.
