Kingdom Hearts: Chasing Shadows

Two years after Sora and Riku defeated Xemnas and returned to Destiny Islands with Kairi, a message was found in the ocean in a bottle. Marked with a familiar symbol of the King. After the years of peace, Sora and Riku decided to answer his call.

A new shadow looms over the worlds and possibly the universe as enemies of old and new arise from the depths of the darkest pits and stand in Sora and Riku's way of saving the worlds and the universe all over again.

That's where this story begins...


In the shambles of Castle Oblivion a single young black haired woman stood in an old black Organization XIII coat in front of the door to the Room of Awakening. “This is it. This is our beginning.” Her melodic voice crooned as she started to laugh delightedly.​

With new friends and old friends, Sora's journey will be filled with plenty of adventure and drama.

Bio: Xenree is a Nobody and remembers everything about her Somebody and the day she was created. A dark resentment for the world burns in her but reasons are unknown why. Not much else is known about her.

Appearance:Poke has black hair, wears black shoes with white rims and the nose being a red color. He wears a black coat with a red T-Shirt inside. He wears dark blue jeans and he has a red, white-in-front cap. Poke also wears a backpack, full of many things. And he is 5'8' tall.
Personality:Poke seems to have a never-able-to-be-memorized personality. He seems a little annoying, a big joker, a music lover, and also random. Strangely, he has some hatred to a few...specific things that you'll have to find out. Let's not forget the many things he loves to do! And there's also a 'sneaky' side to Poke...That has a few things to do with 'civil conflicts.'
Bio:Poke was living a pretty normal life at his home, until heartless showed up. His family were keyblade wielders, so it was pretty easy to fend them off. But then, strong nobodies came, and one by one, many of Poke's family members disappeared. They weren't dead, just gone in a way that they still exist. Poke's village, without the help of all the keyblade wielders, was ultimately destroyed. He set out on a journey to find his family and help others.
Keyblade: Poker(Not original, I know xD)It looks like a normal keyblade, with a few differences. First, the things that surround the handle when you hold it are colored red. And the handle itself is colored blue. The 'ridges' that hang near the end of the key are now spikes. The end of the key chain is a question mark shape.

Name: Howard "Rat" Steward

Class: Summoner
Appearance: Gray hair, green eyes, only about 5"8 in height, hair in a crew cut. Long, unkempt fingernails.
Personality: Stuck-up, cocky. Taunts people quite often, ridicules people, yet has a serious composition in battle for the most part.
Bio: Rat always had the gift of magic. As a small child he was interested in magic, often watching people on television practising it. One day, at the mere age of six, he decided to copy them just for fun. Standing up, he waved his arms around and thought of an animal, then began speaking many words, almost jibberish. In a flash of light, a squirrel appeared right in front of him, staring blankly at him just as he had imagined. He was overjoyed, jumping around in the room constantly.

Years on, Rat still practiced magic, able to conjure up almost anything he could envision in his mind. He constantly practiced his summoning skills on the pavement right near the clock tower in Twilight town. He realised, over time, that summons alone wouldn't cope, so he asked his parents for help in making a spear. After many months of working on it, he created himself a spear.

Bio: Keel has alway been someone who didn't always fit in. Often called and outsider by everyone around him. eventhough this happend on a daily basis, there was one quailty that no one could denie, his determnation. No matter what happend to him, he never gave up.

The Room of Awakening...the room Marluxia and Xemnas were searching for. Inside, lie Ventus, sleeping as if nothing had happened. A pale hand caressed his face, "Sweet dreams...little one." Xenree stood and headed back to the new main foyer. Discovering this place was the easy part. Fixing it up from it's ruins was harder. It had an original look, but all the white was starting to drive her crazy. With it's new black and gray color scheme, Xenree felt better and it was easier on her eyes. With all the time she had, the worlds would be dark in a matter of days. Already, old Heartless were released and the odd creatures known as Unversed were wreaking havoc on the worlds. Her vampiric smile shone through parted lips and silver eyes glowed from underneath the hood of an old Organization XIII cloak as she tore open a Dark Corridor and stepped inside to spread her dark energy throughout the worlds personally.

Meanwhile~

Riku lounged on the beach. He felt much more at ease at home now that he knew what lie beyond the sea. His urge for adventure had been sated and his desire for power quelled. His friends were safe and things were peaceful. But...that didn't stop the ocasional itch under his skin. There's something...something wrong, but I can't put my finger on it.... Closing his blue eyes to the harsh sunlight, Riku let the wind and ocean sounds lull him into a nap.

Renee ran for her life away from the scurring Shadows. Turning a corner, Renee slammed face first into a wall. A dead end. She hadn't thought Twilight Town had any. Yet, her luck was fading rapidly. "This is it...it's fight or die. And I refuse to die!" her hands trembled as she summoned her Keyblade. Without much practice or memory, Renee barely remembered how to do that. It was going to be a problem if she needed to actually fight.

Bio:Carrie was born in Radiant Garden and was friends with Isa and Lea. When her home world was destroyed she was able to make it to Traverse Town and later went back to the Garden as did many of the other residents including, Aerith, Leon, Yuffie exc... She is a member of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee although she never met Sora and his friends. She prays for the day that she might see her friends again. She gained the keyblade sometime after Riku and Sora beat the Org 13.

Sora was pacing around the island, just like he did when he was much younger. With every step, he had a new appreciation for the time he spent on the sand, listening to the ocean waves crash along the shore. He no longer had a need to leave this place. He knew something was on the horizon though; the air was shifting day after day. He was constantly on his guard, waiting for some kind of signal to tell him it was time to leave again. He snapped out his trance when he noticed a familiar friend walking along the beach ahead of him.

"Hey! Riku!" Sora called out. It had been a while since he spent time with his friend.

Alexander was running, not out of fear, but for the safety of the others. For the past few years of living in Twilight Town, he had grown to like some of the people who resided there. The last thing he wanted to do was to strike down one of the citizens by accident. He was being attacked by a dark creature that was much taller than him. Alexander knew that it was attracted to him because of the Keylade, so he was leading him straight into the forest, where it would be much easier for him to battle.

"C'mon, big guy," Alexander said, trying to provoke him. From the creature's mouth came a dark ball of energy. Alexander was able to dodge it, but just barely. "Well, that's new," He groaned.

 

Keel couldn't belive his eyes. Twlight Town, one of the most peaceful place he knew of, was infested by heartless. Granted he wasn't aware of this until he found himself surround by them in sandlot. Great, I was hopping that I wouldn't have to fight. He thought as one of the shadows around him lept towards him. But it was quickly defeated once Keel had summoned his keyblade. Hefting it on his back, he got ready for which ever of the heartless was going to attack next.

"I believe I can flyyy..." He randomly sung as he walked calmly through a crowd of staring heartless. "I believe I can touch the skyyy." The heartless lunged at the teenager, before he summoned his keyblade, the Poker. He spun around quite fast, wiping out the unfortunate heartless that were swiped away, while yelling, "I believe you can die! Muwahaha!" He stopped his spinning, before noticing more heartless, just staring, ready to lunge at him at any moment, and in any way. He was ready for them. A neo shadow lunged for him, before he thrusted his Poker right at it's face, instantly making it dissipate. Another shadow lunged at him, thinking he wouldn't react, but instead, he let the keyblade slide through his hand, before grabbing the chain, and pulling it back and slamming it down on the poor shadow's head, before he threw his keyblade under his legs. More heartless jumped at him, but the keyblade destroyed many of the ones behind him, before he backflipped, grabbed the handle, and let the heartless continue their unstoppable leap as he did a horizontal slice that ended them. "Give me a better challenge, or I sushify y--" He stopped to notice there were no more heartless. "...Oh yeah, I already did. Whoo hoo hooo~" He whistled, continuing on his way through Twilight Town.
(By the way, forgot to ask, is it ok if Poke has a..um..."truck"load of instruments? XD No stranger than keeping a giant door utensil in a pocket, eh?)

Dakota sat in the street surround by old out grew wall.Twilight town was awfully boring.It had the same color all the time,well,Most of the time atleast:Orange.The sun glistening A sparkly Orange on the orange building,He hated it.Not that he liked much of anything. " Heartless are such in-desirable creatures. " He spoke to himself softly.Yeah,he did that,He was his only friend.The only one he could relate to.He walked towards the giant hole that lead to a [The] forest. Once there he sat next,or rather on,a tree in the corner.Heartless emerged at the corner of the forest in a small clump of ten around the forest.He only sighed. " What a bother." He spoke to the heartless as if they were capable of understanding,standing up then Summoning his keyblade named Havens Grace,a light blue keyblade with a design of clouds making up the body and the top of the key ,slightly darker, with lighting bolts for the tips.The handle was puffy,with 4 dents the size of his fingers.The forest was somewhat darker than the town,since it was noon it was kind a of hard to see the shadows, he aimlessly,but still swiftly, swung into the dim light and manged to strike a heartless.He then swung in a 180 knowing they were summoned in a clump,so he figured they be close.He hit 5 more,making a total of 7 out of ten.While all were still alive at least he'd manged to hit them.He could see them now and stuck two as hard as he could and they dissipated,since heartless don't die.He did the same to two more then cast fire to finish of another.The heartless jumped at him,One manged to claw him.He cursed at it kicked it.It didn't do much but he then swung,making it disappear.He threw his keyblade at one jumping at him,destroying it,His keyblade then hit a tree and bounced back at Dakota,He caught it.He finished off the last two with Fire and sat down again,Keyblade still in hand. 'I'm lucky they were just shadows and easy to finish off in a short amount of time." He said laughing to himself. "I'm losing it.If I ever had it." he continued to chuckle.

Riku opened one eye and groaned, sitting up. "This is payback I suppose...for all those years of me being away." He shut his mouth quickly. Some part of him hadn't been able to forgive himself for betraying his friends and leaving them alone. But Ansem had been pulling at the darkness in his heart. "Forget I said that... It's a new day...and yet...Sora," a rush of old memories flooded him the second he said his friend's name. Had Kairi been with him, he didn't think he could handle the rush of nostalgia. "Something doesn't feel right. With the worlds, I mean."

Renee ducked under a shadow as it lunged at her and ran for the sandlot. Though from all the twisting and turns she took, she ended up at the Station. "What? You have to be kidding me..." The Shadows started to act strangely. They hesitated and twitched as a portal of darkness ripped open before them and a black figure emerged from the suffocating darkness. Renee's brown eyes went wide, This...isn't good...who's this? The figure closed the portal and turned on it's heel. The Heartless didn't seem to recognize it as friend or foe and swiped at it. A dark Keyblade burned in the figure's hand and cut through the Shadow. A female voice came from the figure, soft and cold. "I don't have time to pretend like I care about Heartless...I have Keyblade weilders to threaten. So...BACK OFF!" Her voice spiked in harshness and the rest of the Shadows disappeared into little pools of darkness. Obviously the woman had some control over them.

Appearance: Average height and size, stronger body-build. Black hair, red eyes (These used to be different. Will be explained in the bio). Black vest with matching black jeans. Black shoes. Wears a silver necklace with a strange symbol on it.
Personality: He used to be an up-beat, happy person, but is now only concerned with his own well-being. This is due to exposure to dark magic.
Bio: Nikolai used to live a peaceful life on the Destiny Islands. He wasn't very close to the likes of Sora, Riku, or Kairi, but he had his own circle of friends.Then came the fateful day that the Islands were destroyed by the Heartless. Nikolai was sucked away into the giant ball of darkness above the islands, just like everyone else. He was stuck inside the realm of darkness, and when he awoke, there was nobody there. Nikolai sat in the Realm of Darkness for what felt like days, though he couldn't tell if he was right since the sun never rose or set where he was. Finally, just as Nikolai's final bit of hope was fading, a figure stood beside him. It was a woman wearing a long black dress and holding a scepter with a green orb on the top of it. She called herself Maleficent. She offered Nikolai a place to stay, and he accepted. She took him to Hollow Bastion, where she trained him and another boy in the ways of the dark arts. She seemed to spend more time with the silver-haired boy than she did with him. Over time, Nikolai was almost being ignored completely. It was then that he decided to leave Maleficent and train himself. He has seen how Darkness works and how it affects people, but he is able to hold back it's personality-changing affects, but at a cost: It changes his appearance. This change in appearance has made others look at him as a delinquent, when in reality it's not. He currently lives in the re-built Radiant Garden.
Other: Becoming angered brings out Nikolai's "Dark" side. Also, despite his Russian-sounding name, his accent is an American one.

Sora nodded to what his friend told him. "I can feel it too. There's something going on out there, something not right." This moment reminded him of only a few years ago, where he, Riku, and Kairi looked out at the horizon without a care in the world. That was before Sora knew anything about the Keyblade. A small piece of him still wished for those simple days, where there were no Heartless, no Nobodies, and especially, no Xehanort. "We're going to have to do something about it soon, don't you think?" Sora asked his friend as he stared out into the sea.

Kirra wasn't exactly sure what she was doing right now. It was another Heartless outbreak, but this one seemed more out of control than usual. Kirra knew that she wasn't much of a fighter to begin with, which was why she practiced her magic more than anyone else that she knew. She stood in the middle of the Second District of Traverse Town, doing her best to defend herself. She felt out matched, then suddenly, it felt like something came from her Keyblade itself. Eruption. Kirra knew that it was a spell, a powerful one, but she hadn't mastered it. Still, it was better than letting the Heartless defeat her.

"Let's go," Kirra exclaimed, raising her Keyblade into the air, "Eruption!"

She cast her spell, closing her eyes, praying that it would work. When she opened up her eyes again, her prayers were answered. There seemed to be no more Heartless there to annoy. Kirra felt like smiling, but that was cut short when she noticed that her Keyblade was acting a bit strange. It seemed as if it had a mind of its own. The Keyblade transformed itself in front of her eyes to some kind of hovercraft. Cautious, something inside of Kirra told her to get onto what she believed to be her Keyblade. In a flash, it lifted up and took her away from the place she once called home.

Riku stood and brushed sand off his pants, "Yeah." He glared at the sea as if it was causing the problems. "There's someone...out there that needs to die." Riku turned and looked at his friend before gesturing to the little house a ways off the beach. "Kairi's not here. She didn't come. I left a note, if you want to leave now."

Renee stared at the girl before her. "Y-you're...you're a bad person..." She turned and a smile glinted through the darkness under her hood, "Did you just figure that out? I'm going to destroy these worlds...and along with them the light that hides in the darkness."
