"Ah, I see..." Leah said softly and smiled. She looked up at the sky. "Hmm... Well, I haven't been here very long, but I think it's a pretty nice place... I can't wait to start classes tomorrow." She grinned. Her hands were behind her back and she was digging her nails into one of her arms to try and avoid the temptation, but it didn't hurt or bleed because of her tough skin.

Brexecca smiled and softly kissed him back, blushing a little. "I love you, too..." She said softly and hugged him tightly. "Hmm... That seems like a good possibility..." She grinned.

"Really?" Abexecca tilted her head to the side. "What was it about?" She asked, curiously.

 

"Well..we were at Subway...and the police were chasing after us I think..so we ran back to the school..and that's all I remember.." He told her as he glanced up at her face curious to see if she would laugh at his supposed dream.

 

Mark accidently bumped into Leah and felt her skin, it being cold just like when he shook it, "oh you must be cold..it is a rather brisk night..." he smiled taking off the jacket he had worn and put it gently around her. "There you are...I'm sure that will make you feel better..."

Kulex sighed remembering what was supposed to happen tomorrow, "unfornately it seems like we need someone to take your place as far as swimming goes though...unless you are able to get better quicker than expected...although I believe there could be a chance..." he said not losing hope and hugging her close.

 

Leah smiled softly at Mark. "Thanks..." She said softly, glad that he just thought she was cold. She continued walking with him, his scent making her throat burn, but she held back with all of her strength, not wanting to hurt him. Mark seemed like a really nice guy. If she had to, she'd run away and explain to him later what was really going on... But that was a last resort. "So Mark, what are your majors...?" She asked and looked at him, smiling.

Brexecca sighed. "Ah, yeah..." She thought for a minute. "I can't really think of anyone..." She bit her lip. "The team's gonna be pretty upset..."

"Umm... Fayte?" Abexecca said, softly. "That... wasn't a dream..." She bit her lip.

 

Mark was slightly surprised but a soft smile that was larger than his usual one spread across his face, usually no one was as interested in majors and talking about them as he was, "Medicinal Sciences...although I will have a major in Doctoring as well...." he said softly. He laughed lightly, "I guess the idea come have partially come from my father who is a genius doctor himself..." he said before looking down at her, "how about yourself Leah?"

Kulex thought for a moment, "perhaps I could talk to Mark..and maybe he could give you something that would make you better by tomorrow..." he said softly kissing her hand. "Lets not lose hope...there has to be a way..." he said giving her a gentle smile.

 

Leah grinned. "Ah, I see you'd like to be a doctor like your father... Those are good majors to choose..." She smiled. "Hmm... I would like to get a major in Chemistry and Biology... I've always been interested in discovering new things..." She smiled softly.

"I'm not sure that there is anything like that..." Brexecca said softly and smiled. "But who knows... Maybe I'll be well enough by tomorrow that I can compete..." She hugged him softly. His smile reassured her, but she was still not sure if she could get better that fast.

 

Mark was surprised yet again hearing her bring up a science field major too, "wow...I'd have to say...not too many girls do I find that enjoy science..." he smiled softly at her. He decided he would try to hold her hand if possible, "Leah...would you mind if I held your hand?" he asked gently. "Its ok if you don't...I just figured...."

Kulex sighed slightly, "well he has been able to do and come up with some pretty amazing things...." he smiled, "you never know...he could surprise us both...."

 

"Yeah... Most girls like other stuff like cheerleading..." She said and rolled her eyes. "Really, science is much more interesting than waving around pom poms..." Leah smiled and laughed. "I don't mind... As long as you don't mind the cold, though... It's kind of normal for my hands to be really cold all the time," She said as an excuse.

Brexecca nodded. "True... he can be pretty amazing sometimes..." She smiled and leaned against Kulex, hugging him close.

 

Mark laughed lightly, "yeah...to be honest I would assume thats why I don't have a girlfriend..." he stopped blushing a little bit after saying that, he smiled and shook it off, "I don't mind at all...perhaps I can help warm them up for you..." he said gently taking her hand and lightly rubbing it with his thumb as they walked.

"You know...I can't lie....I didn't sleep..." Kulex sighed gently rubbing her back, "and of course it seems I woke you up too..." he said kissing her cheek. "What say this time we both go to sleep...." he laughed lightly knowing it was his fault.

 

Leah saw him blush and she couldn't help but giggle. When he said that maybe he could warm her hands up, she smiled. "Thanks..." She said softly and walked with him, holding his hand gently. However, she couldn't tell him that her hands wouldn't warm up.

Brexecca suddenly yawned after he said that and giggled. "That's probably a good idea..." She said softly. "But are you going to go to sleep this time?" She grinned.

 

Mark smiled not even realizing her hands weren't warming up at all, too busily distracted falling for the girl who seemed perfect for him, "Leah...have you enjoyed the walk this far?" he said stopping at the entrance to the park with her. "This is by far one of my favorite places to walk...its so beautiful...I hope you will enjoy it too..." he said tenderly squeezing her hand.

Kulex laughed lightly picking her up in his arms and laying her in her bed putting the covers over her, "yes silly I plan too..." he said getting on the covers next to her and kissing her cheek. He softly stroked her cheek and looked in her eyes, "only good dreams this time..." he smiled.

 

Leah smiled, glad that he couldn't tell her hands weren't warming up. "Yes, I have enjoyed it so far..."She said softly. "It's been alot of fun..." She smiled, truthfully. However, once they got to the park, she picked up the scent of a few more humans. Her throat burned with thirst and she put her hand up to it. Before she could say anything else, she felt her instincts kicking in and she let go of Mark's hand, gripping her head tightly. "No..." She muttered to herself and grit her teeth. She couldn't keep control anymore.

"Right... Only good dreams," She said and smiled, hugging Kules close. Quietly, she closed her eyes, relaxing. She still felt a little sick, but the medicine was making her feel better, and a little bit drowsy.

 

Mark knelt down beside her and hugged her close, "Leah...whats wrong?" he asked concerned gently rubbing her back, "what can I do? how can I help you?" he asked nervously.

"Yes...only good dreams..." Kulex said hugging her close and softly rubbing her back as he closed his eyes too, "good night precious...sweet dreams..." he said leaning forward kissing her forehead.

 

Leah hissed instinctively and pushed him away. "R-Run...!!" She said, taking a few steps back from him. She really didn't want to hurt him, but when he hugged her, she'd been just inches away from biting him. It had been a stupid move on his part, but somehow she'd been able to resist. She tried to hold of longer.

"Good night..." Brexecca said softly and gently kissed his cheek before closing her eyes and letting her mind drift into pointless thoughts as she fell asleep.

 

Mark was pushed back but ran to her side again, "No!...I won't leave you...I want to help you..." he said staying by her side regardless. Unfornately though these were symptoms of something he had never seen before so he didn't quite know how to help her, until he remembered the tranquilzer he always carried around. He wanted to make sure there was no other way to help her though before using it, "Leah...how can I help you...."

 

A snarl ripped from in between Leah's teeth and she quickly turned, tackling Mark to the ground. Her nails dug into his shoulders and she'd almost bitten him, but she bit down hard on her lip instead. No! She thought and got off of Mark, quickly. She put her hands to her head again. "Mark, you idiot! I'll meet you at the school!" She shouted in a hurry and ran off quickly away from the park. She ran outside the city limits and rested for a bit.

 

Mark winced at the small cuts in his shoulders but sat up quickly, still trying to recall what had happened, "to the school..." he said jumping up and running towards it as fast as he could. "I don't know whats wrong with you Leah...but I'm not going to abandon you...I don't care what happens....to me...." he said quietly in his head. Even though he wasn't a athlete, Mark kept himself well in average shape, so he ran pretty fast back to the school stopping outside the entrance to breathe.

 

Leah leaned against a tree, trying to regain herself. The burning in her throat died away a little, and the human scent was gone. She let her "hunting mode" or "instincts", as you may call it, shut down before she ran back to the school. She slowed her running when she got to the entrance of the school, walking up to Mark. "I'm sorry..." She said quickly. "Are you okay?" She asked, worriedly.

 

Mark embraced Leah holding her close to him, "I'm fine..." he said softly closing his eyes and just holding her, "please...Leah...I guess I can't hide it...I have begun to like and care for you...seeing you like that...I just want to help you..." he said pulling away a little so he could look in her eyes. "Don't be sorry...." he said lightly touching her cheek, "just please let me help you..."

 

Leah sucked in a sharp breath when he hugged her, and gently pushed him away again, afraid to loose control. She sighed. "You can't help..." She said softly. "There's no way to..." She bit her lip and looked away from him. "You saw how I acted back there... I know this may sound insane, but can't you see it? I'm a vampire..." She confessed and took a few steps back from him. "Every second you're with me is dangerous for you... I completely lost it back there because of the scent you put off... it's stronger than most humans... Different, in a sense... That's why I wanted you to run. Do you realize how close I was to biting you? Do you understand what would've happened if I had done that?!"
