Kingdom Hearts 3D: Famitsu New Information

Kingdom Hearts 3D will be 35 hours; longer, of course, if you do all of the minigames and Dream Eater training

Fighting style can be completey different depending on what Dream Eaters you use

The first package design for Kingdom Hearts 3D featured King Mickey mainly, with Riku and Sora as side parts. Nomura didn't feel like it fit the title, so he redesigned the cover to what it is now.

Buying the game comes with one Augmented Reality (AR) card for one rare Dream Eater, but you'll be able to get the recipe for them in the game via StreetPass, but remember it will be rare to do so.

The mysterious figure in the black coat isn't necessarily new, but they are important to the story.

About the key phrase, "Those who are asleep in sadness": Sora and Riku are preparing to rescue them.

At first they planned to have Sora go to original Tron world, and Riku go to Tron Legacy world.

Other than Ansem and Xemnas who appear often, Lea and the mysterious silver haired boy are key characters.

In the end we'll finally see Xemnas/Ansem's true form.

Donald and Goofy couldn't be team mates this time because they are not Keyblade wielders. Thus the Dream Eaters were developed to serve as party members.

The growth system of the Dream Eaters is connected to Sora and Riku's growth.

Dream Eater's growth is like a breeding system, treating them well makes them grow better.

The command system is different than BBS, it's more of a mix between Days and Re:coded's systems.

There are 4 types of Dream Eater personalities, they also change depending on how you do in battle, etc.

King Wondernyan isn't an evolution of a Wondernyan, they are separate Dream Eaters. (It's not like pokemon lol)

The main mini game you play with then is called Flick Crash, which combines speed and action aspects

You can name your own Dream Eaters

There are 50 sorts of Dream Eaters you can partner with, however boss Dream Eaters are not included.

Nothing more than I already knew.
The Command system has me interested though.
(Also I assume the Silver haired boy is some form of a young Xehanort. Roughly the age he left the island perhaps?)

Also, another character I wish to know more about is the red eyed figure in the cloak. He was quickly flashed through in the last trailer.

He reminded me of Vivi :P

First Final Fantasy XIII-2, and now KH3D. Square really needs to get it out of their system and just make a Pokemon game! (can you imagine, though? A Pokemon game with modern Final Fantasy graphics?)

^Not sure how to take that. BbS had one of the best interfaces of any game I've played. Days was pretty good, but RE:Coded was awkward and uncomfortable. ///_=

Glad me and my sis both want KH3D, this will give me a better opputunity at collecting Dream Eaters. And I'm also glad I've played both Days and re-Coded.

Maybe Square Enix wanted to proof they can make Pokemon look awesome, XP
And you know what? If there was a Pokemon/Square enix game, I would buy it, haha

I'm pretty sure that red-eyed figure is Vanitas.

In the BBS manga, they go deeper into Vanitas' background. When he's formed, he is a faceless creature with red eyes. That's why I think he initially wore the mask.

Once Ventus made contact with Sora's heart at the beginning of the game (manga), it affects Vanitas as well since they are connected. As a result, he bears a striking resemblance of KHII Sora.

And here I thought I was the only one who thought Micky was unnecessary in the box art this time around, Good job Nomura! I hope your changes to the box art stays in the localized versions of the game! :D
"35 hours"? Looks like I'll be done with the game in 2 to 3 days if it's really that long (that is if it really is coming out in the summer). I finish my video games very quickly :(

And on another note, Unversed have red eyes as well. There is definitely a connection. I'm almost certain that's him. Could be wrong though.

My guess on that one is that He's Vanitas. Vanitas had red eyes and a shadow-like face before taking on Sora's appearance. Besides that, these are some interesting facts. Nice work as always Mike!

But yeah I'm pretty sure that's who it is. Not sure how or why he's taking that appearance.

Maybe just like the unversed, he can't be completely gone. (Well there's gotta be a way, but not the way Ven did it apparently.) But his fight with Ven caused him to revert back to his original form most likely. Who knows.

Well, this is very interesting.

The concept of playing with the Dream Eaters and naming them reminds me a bit of Nintendogs, but that could just be me. All of this information is great, and it's hard to believe that the main campaign will take 35 hours to complete. I really can't wait for an official NA/EU release date.

About that figure...I'm not sure whether I should say I believe it truly is Vanitas, if for no other reason than because the coat and the shape of it are all identical to

Roxas when he's cloaked and hooded.

Yes, that seems like a stretch, but keep in mind that every single member of the Organization has a distinct pattern or shape for their coats.

Cloudrunner62 mentioned that the Unversed all have red eyes, and while this is true they're all zig-zagged and misshapen. These look just like Heartless eyes, but red instead of yellow. Vanitas has indeed made an appearance in the game, but while he was in his own outfit. Also, we all know his eyes are gold as the typical pure-evil-KH-villain pattern dictates. Why now would his eyes be red? Someone mentioned that maybe Vanitas went back to his original state after he was defeated by Ven, but if that's the case then why would he appear the way he did in the trailer, as the unmasked Vanitas we all know ~~and love~~?

I think that figure is

Roxas.

He was obviously important enough to be featured in the trailer, not to mention the fact that the background is, or at least looks like it is, The World That Never Was. Lea's been verified as having a key role in the game, so why not

? He, as well as Vanitas and everybody else we've come to lose, is living somewhere inside of Sora. He could technically be counted as nothing more than an empty shell

(and if you're a fan of this theory, the vessel of Ven's heart [was this verified?])

. Is it possible that maybe Vanitas did have some hand in this sort of corruption?

Actually, I really think the cloaked figure with the red eyes is actually a dream eater. Of the enemy (nightmare) kind. All of the enemy dream eaters shown have red eyes just like the figure. Like so:
