Riku stood on the small patch of land that was tied to the larger part of the island by a small wooden bridge, gazing out to the sea. He'd once wanted nothing more than to get off this island in search of adventure. Now he couldn't be more relieved to be home. After the mark of mastery in the dream world, he was somewhat exhausted. Which is saying something considering he was asleep. Him and Sora locked the keyholes of sleep and freed the dreaming worlds, as such, both of them passed the mark. He smiled slightly to himself. Having overcome the darkness and continued to become a full fledged master. Turning from the sea and back to the island, he walked to the larger part of the beach, looking for Sora.

 

Sora saw Riku walking toward him. "Riku!"Sora said. He was relieved to see his friend still with him, he thought for sure that he had lost him in the dream world.

 

Riku smiled at his friend. He hadn't been too worried that he'd get lost in the dream world. He was Sora after all. "Hey!" He called back to him. "You gone to see Kairi yet? She's probably worried sick about." he said with a laugh.

 

"She wasn't there," SOra said trying to sound casual. "She's probably on the other Island. We may as well go look for her."

 

Riku nodded in agreement. "Yeah." He said to him. "If she's on the other island then we may as well test out our new powers. Yen sid said something about a glider right?" he suggested.

 

As the sun slowly started to descend onto the horizon once more, Kairi walked down to the shore looking over to the island where she had last seen her two bestest friends. "Sora...Riku..." She wondered when they'll return from their journy and hoped that everything went alright. Realizing its another day of them not comming she then decided to head back home. "maybe..tomorrow.." she said smiling but then it slowly went away.

 

Sora looked at Riku, embarrassed, "I forgot how to summon it..." he admitted

 

Riku Chuckled at his friend's admittance to forgetting how to summon a glider. He had never summon one himself but Yen sid had shown them how. "It's alright. I think i remember." He said, summoning way to dawn. He spun it around and tossed it high into the air. A bright flash of light appeared where he had thrown it and what came back down resembled a hang glider, except where the sail would be was a wing of light and dark like the ones the made up his keyblade. Riku's eyes widened as he slowly ran his hands over it. This was the first time he'd successfully done it. He then turned to Sora. "Now you try."

 

Sora concentrated as hard as he could. He felt his Keyblade leave his hand and transform into something resembling a hoverboard. "Cooooooooool......" Sora said in awe. He thought his keyblade rider looked pretty epic.

 

"Alright then"Riku said, mounting his glider. "Race you." He said grinning at his friend. A reminiscence of their youth when they always used to race and spar each other. That was only two or three years ago, but it felt like a lot longer. Maybe because so much had happened? Maybe because they had matured?

 

"Sure." Sora said with a smile. He was happy to be back, and he was ready to tell Kairi how he felt about her. HE must have had a look on his face because he could feel as if Riku was staring at him.

Walking back home, Kairi couldnt help the feeling that she should have went back to the island and check to see if they had returned. As she thought about it she turns her head over to it. Expecting to see just the lonely island and the sun at sea, she notices there's something else on the island. something that wasnt there before. Her eyes widen with joy thinking it could be her friends that she long awaited for to see. She cant seem to figure out what exactly is she seeing but its enough to make her believe its them. Without much thought, Kairi quickly sprinted back hoping that it is them.

 

Riku took off on his keyblade gilder, speeding across the water to the other island. Along the way, he saw a familiar red-head in pink, and smiled as he did so. "Kairi!" He called to her.

 

Kairi ran faster at the call of her name and noticed it was riku on what appeared to be some sort of glider. "Riku...Riku!" she called back waving her arms happily at him.

 

Riku landed on the ground next to her as he shifted his keublade back into it's original form. "Hey Kairi!" He said smiling before he looked back at Sora. "Looks like i won that race by a long shot" He laughed.

 

Sora arrived at where his friends were. "You... just... got... lucky..." he panted. He saw Kairi and all his feelings rose up. "KAiri, Ineed to tell you something." he finally said.

 

Riku looked at Sora, then Kairi, then back to Sora again. He knew full well what he was about to do. The only question in his mind was whether to get a video camera or not.

 

Sora looked at Riku then back at Kairi. "Privately. As in, away from Silverlocks here."

 

"Alright i get it. You to want some 'alone time'" Riku said as he walked back to his house in town.
