SE what were you thinking?! Seriously I mean not only has Xbox not had a single KH game or a fanbase but it seems like they have completely screwed over Nintendo. I mean Nintendo has already constructed a fanbase and has hosted most of the KH games. Sure the Wii U isn't powerful enough to host the game but it would have been better to just kept it PS4 Exclusive instead of trying to "share" the awesomeness which is Kingdom Hearts with something really different which could somehow harm the sells.

Even as a huge fanboy of Kingdom Hearts, I think that some in this thread are a bit too defensive of the series. What's wrong with Xbox owners wanting to play a Kingdom Hearts game? Why don't they deserve to experience it? Square wants to make more money, and being multiplatform is one of the best ways to do that; it reaches a new audience.

Some companies, like Valve, have titles ported on multiple consoles; lets look at some examples. Team Fortress 2 was made by Valve, it's PC, Mac, and Xbox 360 versions were all developed directly by them; they allowed EA to port a PS3 version. So what happened? The versions differed in quality, but they all sold well and made a lot of money.

Later on, Portal 2 was released on the PC, Mac, PS3 and Xbox 360; this time, the PC/Mac version could actually play multiplayer WITH the PS3 version; all of the versions sold amazingly well and there was little-to-no loss of quality or content between them.

Ports have happened in the past, and will continue to happen. It's not a big deal. Square is not an indie developer that's just starting out; they know what they're doing (aside from an apparent lack of what the word "consistency" means), so don't worry. The PS4 version will be the superior version; so don't worry too much about it.

I have no idea what the ****ing problem is. I swear, some people quite getting Sony consoles evacuate KHIII wasn't released. Some people hate Sony with a passion. But they love KH. By you guys's stupid logic, not liking Sony means you aren't allowed to like or experience KH.

That's really a stupid way of thinking.

I really disagree with you. Like many have said it will not effect the game in anyway. People who haven't played the previous title's, its them missing out and they wont understand it. But just because that it will be on the xbox one does that really make you think "Wow, this game is so bad because they released it on another console" when your playing it? NO. You will enjoy it for what it is, a KH game.

Woooww calm your tits man! people have their opinion let them have it. I personally am not happy with the fact that it is for the xbox one. but your right everybody has the right to play kh. But don t start critisizing people wsy of thinking!
Everybody is makinh valid points here, Hatok is right with his worries about the multiplatform. Ps4 was said to be 1.5 times more poweeful that xbone and that quite a lot if you think of it. So the game might be undermined by the crossplatform. But who cares i know people who love kh and own and xbox, so it would be a slight win win situation. All i know is that i will get the Ps4. I started this game on Playstation ima end it on playstation. And think of it people buyed the Ps3 solely because of kh and some have swapped from xbox to Ps but then now they announce it on xbox like nothing is wrong. Try understand people s point view here.

The argument for KH3 being a PS4-exclusive is pretty elitist. I felt pretty left out when Re:CoM and the Final Mix games were only released in Japan, and I'm glad to see them finally coming to the rest of the world. If quality is the only concern, why release any of their games internationally? If effort was only put in releasing their games in Japan, to only focus on a single version, no doubt they would either be a better game, or released faster. What makes Japan so privileged? What makes the PS4 so privileged?

In a recent interview, Nomura stated he had intentions to eventually bring the Final Mixes everywhere, all over the world, so "everyone in the world can share in the Kingdom Hearts world." What better way to help do that then release a new game as a multi-platform? There are many Kingdom Hearts games I have not experienced simply because it's not on a console I own. I for one am glad because this is just another barrier gone so even more people can have a hand in. I think Square Enix would rather choose to delay a game than release something they were unhappy with, so I am not worried.

I don't care if they have opinions, I just think its unfair that they believe only PS4 Owners should be allowe to have it. That's how they phrase it.

And no, I won't "calm my tits" as long as I see backwards logic.

Nope, you're just extrapolating a legitimate concern

I've been playing Kingdom Hearts as a series since day one and there are things that still make no sense. They'll get over it.

I don't think the decision to develop for both consoles was something they mulled over lightly. If a console was not capable I doubt they they would have included it in their list.

Going by the single-platform-games-are-superior logic, it would be better to develop KH3 as a Xbox One-exclusive than developing it as a multi-platform game. But it seems that developing KH3 as a multi-platform game was in mind. According to this, they're not developing on any specific console system, but will cater to system porting later on. What I feel this thread is really about, is people don't like Xbox One, and don't feel it deserves the Kingdom Hearts series.

Because someone decides to use a Xbox One and not a PS4 as their gaming console does not mean they have never played a Kingdom Hearts game. Fans of the series now have a choice of system they can play the game on as previously they did not. Graphics quality have never been a real concern to me, it's more of a look-and-feel thing that I've been appreciative of.

I'll be honest about my intentions while making this thread:
-To create discussion on the subject at large
-To point out the strangeness of putting KH on a microsoft NOW of all times. With no intention of giving xbone players a way to access the rest of the story, at that
-The create awareness that this COULD potentially have a negative affect on KH3
-To take a stab at the xbone, for being terrible

Considering KH1 and KH2, they were released and developed for the PS2. The PS2 might have been the most appropriate choice as they were first released in 2002-2006, when, as libregkd said, the PS2 was the most dominating console. Keep in mind the Xbox One and PS4 are new systems that have yet to be released. Users of the PS4 won't be able to play previously-released Kingdom Hearts games as well as far as I'm aware. And Square Enix is not unfamiliar to using different consoles for Kingdom Hearts; they develop for what's most appropriate for their game.

    That's the thing
There are four Sony KH games, and four for Nintendo... but then KH3 comes to Microsoft? There's reason to believe many ps4 owners will have owned a ps3 or ps2, or psp. Similarly, if it were being ported to the Wii U, I still wouldn't like it, but I'd at least understand the marketing logic behind it

I feel that you're searching for excuses to want to keep Kingdom Hearts III as an exclusive. Why come to Nintendo? Is there a reason to believe a fan of KH1 will already own all the necessary consoles needed to play the entire Kingdom Hearts series? Why not Microsoft? Microsoft has the least amount of different gaming consoles, but if a console has enough market share and power to run your game why not develop for it? Are we not supposed to be happy that Kingdom Hearts will reach a wider audience? I already feel locked-out from the franchise as I can't currently play many of the current releases. It no longer makes sense for Square Enix to keep a home console game an exclusive.
