Riku spoke defensively. "I was just saying what popped in my head." He looked down the road. "Besides... I don't rush into relationships either."

 

Yuki touched Riku's shoulder and gave him a thumbs-up, "Exactly! I'm glad you and I think alike! Seriously, I thought I wouldn't have a sensible conversation with anyone here, but I guess I was wrong, all of you are A-okay!"

 

Riku looked over at Yuki. "What? You thought we were a bunch of idiots who sit around splitting paopu fruits with each other at random?"

 

Yuki facefaulted, "No, I thought that all of you were going to ignore an ignorant and boring person like me, while you all continued having fun." Yuki sighed, "And that always happens to me on the first days of school." Yuki started to turn gloomy.

 

Riku smiled at Yuki. "Well, I'm glad it's different here."

 

Yuki smiled as well, "Yeah... today's going to be different. I just know it!"

 

"And it's only the day before the first day of school." Riku sighed at the idea and looked up at the sky.

Yuki grinned, "Yeah... and the sky is still bright. We're gonna be alright."

Kayla, back at the beach now, saw a new girl she'd never seen before. She decided to go up and meet her. "Hi! I'm Kayla! What's your name?" she said. She then turned to Riku and said, "Sorry for interrupting, Riku. Hope I wasn't interrupting you while you where asking her out." She then winked at him jokingly with a sly smile on her face.

 

Riku looked at Kayla in surprise. "I wasn't asking her out. The idea never even crossed my mind." He spoke with his right hand doing a slight, casual wave.

 

Yuki smiled, "Hello. I'm Yuki. Nice to meet you." Yuki bowed slightly. She smiled at Kayla then turned to Riku and said, "Yeah... and I wasn't thinking of tricking Riku to go out with me, we were just having a friendly chat, right Riku?"

 

Riku nodded his head once in agreement. "Right. Nothing to freak out about."

 

Yuki stretched her arms, "So, what do you guys wanna do now?" She brought out her iPod.

 

"Well, we're waiting on everyone to gather here... and for someone to get the equipment we need for kayaking." Riku looked over at Yuki. "I'm not sure what to do while we wait, though."

 

Yuki sighed, "Okay then..." She put on her earphones and set her iPod on shuffle. "Ah! My favorite song!" She began humming, "Guilty Beauty Love" by Miyano Mamoru

 

Riku silently rolled his eyes before looking over at Kayla. "Weren't you looking for Sora? I thought you would have found him by now."

 

Yuki tapped Riku on the shoulder, "Isn't Sora that one over there?" She pointed to a brunette on the dock.

 

"Hey guys!! Kayla found Sora!! You guys ready to go?" Selphie said while getting out of her boat and running beside Riku. She waved at Yuki with a smile and turned towards town. "Um do we need to get anything in town before we go?" She said looking at everyone.
