Community Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary: Nonfiction Writing Contest

Hey kids. This next event is a bit more formal than our fictional writing contest!

We would like you to write about how the Kingdom Hearts series affected you and why you still enjoy it today, despite ten years passing between the original release and now. For example, you could write about how it has affected your views on friendship; would you go through the same trials Sora did for his friends? Or perhaps how the characters themselves have affected you, or why one character is your favorite. It doesn’t have to be an essay, but at least try to make it a few paragraphs. Submissions like “I like Axel because he’s hot” will not be accepted.

Rules:

MUST be related to in-universe - that means no original characters or anything like that.

Must be appropriate as per KHV's rules.

DO NOT take someone else's writing and claim it as your own. We will check, should we find this happens you will be disqualified.

Good said:

I have to say I would go through the same things Sora did when it came to people I cared about. I've known them for so long, and have so many memorable times with them that if they were wrapped up in some deep rooted personal troubles, or even kidnapped by some crazy blue-haired moon guy, I would dive right into the heart of it all and help them the best I can. Even though I've only four really close friends, I trust them with my life and help them when they're down because I care about them, and I know that they're always there for me. There have been many times where I was sad or confused, and they helped me do what I needed to do and move ahead and be happy.

Sora is honestly a role model. He risked his neck so many times to save Riku and Kairi, even after the former betrayed him and gave into the darkness, just because they were people that he held dear to his heart. Even though she openly admitted to manipulating him, Sora even risked his life to protect Namine, just because it was the right thing to do. I feel everyone could take a lesson from Sora, in that even if it takes a while, even if things continue to be hard, just keep pushing forward and give it all you've got.
