    Yep and honestly don't expect it anytime soon. Unless I hack my ps3 or someone wants to. The hardware cost around 70 to 80 dollars.

    If anyone cares, I found that *.img files with a world code in it's prefix (like dh or di) are where level textures are kept. The image format seems similar to the DPX as you can see here:

    If it's similar to model textures, maybe Crazykat's tool could be modified to dump/replace world textures with modified ones from 1.5.

    Well, unless GSDX gets a major rewrite (which is very unlikely), we would still have to bring the texture resolution from 1.5 down to what ever it is in the original.

    Yeah, it still will do good from downsampling (if they even have higher resolution textures). Who knows maybe we can get away with some stuff.;)

    I could probably get something working, but I'll wait until we can somehow get the textures from 1.5HD...

    And whats this talk of cropping videos? Why would you crop them when we can just remove the black borders? :confused:

    He wanted it to be more like 1.5. I don't like the cropping either and have zero idea why they did it. Removing the boarders sounds better but I don't know with those were still kept in to make it more cinematic or not.

    I like to think of that's how they envisioned it so I will follow that. Or they could just be the same ole lazy Square Enix:rolleyes:

    I bet you once we get our hands on 1.5 files we will see which ones they were telling the truth about and just flat out lied to us about. I already think new models are one part they lied about.

    That's exactly right. Every movie or every game you see that has black bars were put in on purpose to make it more cinematic. That's why people prefer widescreen movies over fullscreen.


    Anyway with the whole tm2 thing. Can someone write up a step-by-step process on extracting an image out of a tm2, editing it, and putting it back into a tm2 and seeing it in game without it looking like garbage? I recall someone said something about the filesize being the same, but does that only apply to title.img? Because when I screw around editing copyright.tm2, the size is bigger but i can still see it in game (broken of course)

    Gledson said something about that. It involves using Optix studio(for the TM2 conversion), game graphic studio, and a photo editing program of your choice.[DOUBLEPOST=1376369102][/DOUBLEPOST]
    Like I said above, I just want to frame it as to how they envisioned it and make everything exactly almost like 1.5, but you guys can have options. Choices are good for everyone.

    Hopefully we'll get our hands on something soon ;)

    I'll try to type up a step-by-literal-step TM2->something_normal->TM2 tut real quick. I'd say give me about 20-30 mins. ;)

    So I was thinking theoretically have to change the command menu. I'm not a coder just hear me out though. What would happen if we could move the summon command out from the magic menu and into the fourth slot? And can we make a fifth slot on top (triangle) to route the fourth slot commands to? Basically move them around. How about remapping some commands to that said theoretical fifth slot?

    Can we reverse engineering the method from KH2 perhaps?

    This is going to take a lot more work than just translating if you want it to be better than the 1.5 version. They have the advantage of having 16:9 menu screens. I'm sure if we keep digging at it, we could too achieve the same. But another issue is that this game was made to be 4:3. Using a widescreen hack to show more pixels on the sides is great and all, but if you pay attention to some cutscenes when characters move out of the 4:3 frame they sometimes just instantly disappear instead of continuing to walk.

    Hah thanks. I actually figured out a hack job way to display 16:9 proportionate tm2s that work in game, but it cuts the resolution tremendously. The ultimate challenge is increasing the resolution of a tm2 without it looking like garbage.

    Why do you think Nomura and Two programmers decided to crop/zoom their cutscenes? lol They couldn't do anything about it too and the outcome doesn't look too bad guys.

    I haven't seen any playthroughs of the japanese 1.5 remix yet, are the cutscenes really zoomed? If that's the case then that instantly makes me not want to buy it.
