The idea was more to prevent people creating accounts purely for the sake of Voxli. 50 posts and two rep gems isn't too much. I can't think of many people who don't fit the criteria. But that's fine. Enough criticism has been levelled at it, so I'm dropping that idea. It has been completely dropped. It couldn't be more dropped if I were to drop it like it's hot and I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but it made sense in my head.

I assure you though, I have no such schemes. If you want, I'll explain why the two have no correlation, but I'd rather not off-topic here too much.

It's easy enough to re-join the group. I'm not suggesting permanent exclusion or anything. Just trimming, so the pool of suspects is smaller. It's not punishment so much as pragmatism.

People have a right to complain when others go out of their way to attempt to upset them. You are right, however, when you say that overreacting, or rather, reacting in the wrong way, causes more damage than the trolls. I agree with your sentiment about Ad Hominem attacks on you. You can state your opinion, provided it doesn't attack or degrade others. Indeed, it's appreciated. A wide range of opinions is good.

Well, yeah. Ideally you'd PM me, as opposed to doing it in public, as it's more likely to cause a storm of drama, but if someone's violating a Soft Rule, and you've made it known that you want them to stop, it's perfectly acceptable for you to complain. (That said, the trolls are self-confessed to not even be using accounts, so this point about violated rules is somewhat moot.)

In a way, yes, they are getting a reaction, as they want. However not all of us have thick skin, or are willing to endure insults. The trolls would have their reaction, no matter what I do. I'd rather the reaction to them go towards finding a constructive solution, instead of uncontrolled outbursts.

In the same way that you dislike being labeled as a troll-sympathiser, it may be worthwhile to refrain from labelling others in this way.

This is one solution that would work. Unfortunately, it's a tad difficult to implement, unless we ban everyone who reacts to trolls.

This is a well-deserved insult to my intelligence. I did not consider this in the slightest. Possibly, as you mention, due to the power of being in control. I'd prefer to keep my Voxli account as mine alone, but a shared KHV Voxli account as the main room could work quite well. It's far too egotistical to have the room named after me, anyway.

This solution opens the way for more problems, mostly to do with power and selection. We'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Even with this solution, there's the same problems I raised as with the multiple room problem. Namely, the trolls can by using their names and entering and exiting. They can also evade bans, because Voxli bannings are bottom-tier. I'm still looking towards the idea of culling every so often, even if only to narrow down the range of culprits.

EDIT: GOG FRAGGING DUNG IT YOU GUYS NINJA'D AGAIN

    Replying...

Part of the point is that people cannot join and then feign inactivity to hide below the radar and troll anonymously. By only keeping those who post in the thread (which would be available for a week, announced in the Voxli message, in the password thread and possibly in my signature) we get a far narrower pool of suspects. Anyone who is removed can gladly re-request to be added, and all will be well.

Yes, guests aren't a bad idea. We should probably have some form of a system though, where the person inviting them states who they gave out the password to. Clearly simply forbidding people from giving it out isn't working, and instead encourages secrecy.

The same conditions are available to everyone. I care less about blanket rules being enforced, and more about whether everyone's happy. So if you're happily enjoying a screaming match with another person, that's perfectly okay. If, however, someone starts screaming and others are NOT okay with it, then the others can complain. This goes so far as to mean that if someone screams at the initial screamer later, the initial screamer can complain. Situations change between different people. I can insult a friend, but if I try the same with a stranger, I'll be shot.

    My thoughts:
1)No guests, if anyone wants to visit he registers here
2)Anyone without a blue username in there gets banned, he can request in here to get unbanned if he changes his mind
3)This group should be cleaned and anyone who wants to go to voxli will join it again. Of course the pass will be changed. If you can't be arsed then don't complain why voxli will not be allowed after a few days in khv.
4)Inactive members will be kicked from the group. They can be allowed to come back of course, it's more to control who the trouble maker could be.
5)Why do you allow known people who only cause trouble to join the group? If a guy made trouble in the past and that's the only thing he did, kick him for good. Or for a while at least. His fault for his actions. Besides that's the point of this group.
6)Everyone in blue name has his own channel. If someone comes in pika's room and starts causing trouble and pika isn't there to ban him, go in one of your rooms. Even if the guy follows, then the owner of the channel can ban him there. When he leaves for good or pika comes back, he can ban him in his room and everyone can come back again.

Mostly it's common sense. Keep in mind staff only wants one excuse to prohibit anything that has to do with voxli from here.

While I tend to shirk from debates on anything, and I really don't want to do this in case some random person comes in and rips my head off, I will agree to MOST of Kubo's terms of what should be done. My name is SoraSuzaku (Ace Phoenix) in Voxli and sometimes I enjoy having a little fun with my name like how Kelly does. Yet it's kind of hard to do something funny while including, in order, SoraSuzaku. And I believe two or three days ago we were messing around and we made it so that everyone had Kelly's name and avatar and we all grouped together so she could get a screenshot. We changed our names back afterwards though. Also I noticed as you log in that it requires an email and password. Ever thought that people might have more than one email and can make multiple accounts? I really don't see a way around that and was just offering how someone might have done what was being done last night. Also I kinda think P should get on a bit more. The point of the guests is actually a smart thing. What's the point of having to ask to join if you can give the password to random people. It's just better for them to have to join KHV to get on Voxli. I didn't see him once this week till I'm typing this now and it would have been a lot easier to get rid of the troll if he was there. His other terms are fine by me.

Hey you guys I am really sorry to drop in like this, I know that I'm not even apart of this group, but this discussion came up in the staff section and I thought I would just read it for the sake of educating myself on what you guys are doing, but I felt I needed to reply to this:
I'm not going to speak for the rest of the staff here but while I'm not personally fond of Voxli all the time, I don't want you guys to have the impression that we're standing here with our fingers on the trigger, ready to get rid of Voxli at the first appearance of anything remotely unpleasant. I have no intentions of doing so, and while my opinions are not law with the staff, they do have weight to them and I don't want you guys to have the wrong idea about us.

    Thanks. <3

Also I think this is a lovely discussion and I am happy to see that you all are trying to find a way to make everyone happy. c:

    Yay for Misty.

I personally like the idea of the shared account, because it seems fair, and if someone doesn't do anything about the trolls, we can find out who was in charge at the time, and remove them from said position of whatever-ness. Don't really have much to add, as everything has pretty much been said already. I think we should get on to that shared account. Or you can use mine, and I'll make another one. I'm getting bored of being a lighter.

Personally, I agree with the suggestion of a general "KHV" Voxli account, rather than relying on Pika's account.
If Pika gives the password of the account to like, three people who are active on Voxli consistently and never cause any trouble, I do believe that would help alleviate some of the trolls (who came in today, unfortunately, but didn't even stay a full minute).

Granted, yeah, they can keep coming back with different names and such, but as long as there is SOMEONE active that can ban in Voxli at all times, things should be okay.

Is it possible to ban people who aren't registered on Voxli completely from the room, so they can't even enter it? It only takes a minute to join, but it might stop a few of the trolls...

I wish there were. Something tells me KHV gives voxli a LOT of its traffic lol, we could ask them if it's not already a thing.

The only way to ban is to actually remove them from this group and change the password. The Admin actions in Voxli are more of a kick than anything else.

Honestly Misty nothing in public has happened here so far regarding voxli. You know that this group was barely allowed to be created and if something bad happens here that has to do with the chat room, we all know that the staff will not let it slip. And I'm sure the discussion that happens in the staff area is staff members bringing the negative points of recent voxli issues and the other staff members trying to defend it as reasonably they can. Of course you will say that what discussions are about, but think... staff said they don't care about voxli issues as long as they stay there- and nothing has slipped in here yet (personal problems don't count- they're personal and should remain private) but if a discussion about voxli has already started again now, even though there is no problem in khv yet then that's not good a good sign.

Kubo, let me ask you this: Would it be better for us to let things out on the forum, or in the group, where only members of the group can find it? Because as far as I can tell, this is the more mature option, which may be able to prove that Voxli isn't a bad thing. I'm sure Misty would agree that banning Voxli and upsetting us would be more trouble than just letting us talk problems out ourselves.
