You've been begging for them, and now they're finally here! Today we give you two torrents to start off with. Now you're probably asking why only two? Don't worry, we hope to make more batches in the near future. However, we need to see how many seeders we can get over the next few weeks before we decide if it's worth doing the rest. Here are the two torrents we're releasing (they will be added to the archive soon):

-Kingdom Hearts II Cutscenes (Standard Quality) (Mp4) - 2.84 GB
-Kingdom Hearts Re:COM Cutscenes (English Dub) (.avi) - 480 MB

New to torrents? I'll help you out.

The first thing you'll need is a bittorent client. I highly recommend utorrent 2.2.1. You can use the newer version (3.0) if you want, but a lot of people including myself went back to using this one since it seems to be the best.

Once downloaded and installed, open the provided files and choose where you want them to be saved. Once your download is completed, it will automatically start seeding the torrent as long as you don't move/remove the files or close utorrent. We highly encourage you to seed these torrents as long and as much as you can, so other people can download them faster and help with the seeding.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message or post here. Also note the download might be slow at first since I'm the only one seeding at the moment (hence why we need all we can get).

    Cheers and happy downloading.

-EDIT- If you are having problems downloading the files with Safari, use Firefox or another browser just to get the torrent file.

In Internet Explorer, right-click the link and select "save-target as" if you are getting the page of text.

Finally! No more individual clicking every time I have to re-install.
Oh happy day. I'll be sure to seed if I ever decide to make videos again.

well that's doing absolutely nothing for me. I click open and it doesn't come up.

it has full permission. I just don't understand. And I tried again, and it got like 0.3% done, and then it quit on me. I'll just try again when my dad gets back from house hunting

I used to use uTorrent all the time, I recommend it. As much as this is very helpful as a back up in case MediaFire goes in flames like MegaUpload. I would seed but I dont know how. Can someone explain how to seed please?

For those of you asking about seeding it should happen automatically once you are done downloading the actual files through the torrent (clients differ so I can't say for sure if yours will). The only thing is not to mess with the files, leave them wherever your client placed them. If you move or delete the rar files then the client doesn't know what it is supposed to be sharing.

I wonder, are the videos from the torrents in high definition?

I believe they are from a good quality, like the ones in the Kingdom Hearts II Standard Quality. They are pretty good.

The Kingdom Hearts II scenes are, as Excasr said, from our Standard Quality collection. To give you an idea, here is a screenshot of our old cutscenes (the "low quality" ones):

And here are the new ones:

They also don't have subtitles. ;o
Mixt can provide more information on this (if he is so inclined), but I believe it's difficult to get truly "HD" scenes from Kingdom Hearts II, because it was on the Playstation 2, which has a native resolution of 720p.

You know, I still don't see how they're higher quality. I actually see things better in the low quality. When I play the standard quality while making videos, I see pixals all over the place, unlike with the low quality where it looks normal.
And I found out why I couldn't get torrents. Turns out that our firewall is preventing them from being used. I'm just gonna have to wait till I get that laptop to get them

Or disable your firewall until the torrent is done downloading.

Or even allow that one file to be able to bypass the firewall.

So close. 720p is HD. KH2 is near 450p but it isn't even exactly that, nor is it even constant. Native resolutions get funky. But in the end it is designed to be displayed at 480p at any rate.

minus the jargon, 480p not 720p *slap on wrist*

Here is a split test if it helps

As for the jagged model edges (what I assume you were referring to as seeing pixels all over the place) that is how they truly look. Many SD games have a level of reliance on the fact that it will drop in quality by the time it hits your screen and you shouldn't be inspecting them that closely. Thankfully due to the way that cutscenes are done in Kingdom Hearts, I can theoretically fix that. But it will take additional work. In the mean time you can download the low quality scenes (granted they are not all there anymore) or you can apply a small blur or soften effect to the SD cutscenes if you really want to get rid of them.

wow, I can't believe those are how the scenes actually look. I'm surprised by that little fact. And how would you be able to fix it? And if only I could apply a blur or soften effect. But WLMM doesn't have that. Not that it matters, that's why I downloaded those low quality scenes

Well Kingdom Hearts actually renders most scenes live. That is what allows it to display what form you were in before entering the scene or what keyblade you are holding. Since the scenes aren't set it stone I can mess with them a bit.
    18. Iskandar
      Iskandar
what do you mean renders them live? (You know, I really should learn these things if I ever plan on going into 3D Animation)
    19. Misty
      Misty
Ah my bad, I knew it was 720 by 480, for some reason I went with the 720 haha.
    20. Mixt
      Mixt
I mean rendering live verses being pre-rendered (That is self done terminology, I have no idea how it worded in the business)

A pre-rendered scene (often called an FMV for Full Motion Video) is just a video file that gets cued up once you get there. A live rendered scene is one that simply has the scene composed but not rendered (thus it renders what to put on the screen live). It is just like rendering gameplay just that the player has no control. It ends up being more work on the system but it appears to have worked fine. The only time they swapped out for an FMV because the animation was too much was the 1000 heartless battle. All other FMVs in KH2 were for referencing KH1 models and of course the intro and ending. Like I mentioned before they likely did it that way for the purpose of going "Sora needs to be here and swing his keyblade like so" without dictating what form of Sora or what keyblade. As long as the models are strung up the same way, so to speak, it really doesn't matter what you put in there.

Also, I checked and WLMM does have a blur effect, it is simply too strong. I'm looking for a way to weaken it now.

EDIT: No dice. WLMM doesn't support the adding or editing of effects. I could however help movie blurring if you're willing to use WMM 2.6 or 6.0. Or use the freeware combo of AVISynth and VirtualDub.
