Hey, guys! Got another update for you, and it's a cool one at that!

For a while now, KHV member Xeeynamo, has been working on a patch that will change ALL text (like in cutscenes) in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix + to the English language! Remember, the cutscenes in all Final Mix games are voiced in English, so now with the patch, it's like Square Enix released the game in North America. Pretty cool, right? Also, if you want to see what the patch looks like, here:

Well, that's all I have for you for today. Thanks for reading~

Oh, and thanks to super moderator Chevalier for the heads up.

Okay, I managed to get the English patched game to work on my PS2 by burning the ISO onto a disc with IMGBurn, but now I face a couple of problems while I play the game:

      -There is no music
-When I try to enter the Load Screen or play a cutscene in theater mode, the game stops loading. The game doesn't freeze. It just doesn't load and I cannot do anything else so I have to reset the game.

Why are these things happening? Is there a problem with how I created t he ISO in the first place? I managed to patch the ISO and the disc works on my PS2 with Swap Magic, so I know I made no errors in patching the game or burning the disc.

I would try just doing it again from scratch first. It sounds like the ISO has some corrupted files on it.

If the iso isn't the same size all of the pointers and offsets would get screwed up which explains why some of his stuff doesn't work.
Some stuff in the iso could be compressed or the entire thing if that.

No worries. I managed to recreate the ISO and burn it, and now the game works fine.

The patch is really good so far, but I do have some feedback.

-The menu tutorials and the minigame tutorials are left untranslated. I know the patch (and probably the game itself) are meant for people who already played KH2 before, but it would still be helpful to some people if the menus were translated.

      - I noticed little lines and marks above some of the text. I'm not sure what that was about, but it was probably unavoidable and it's not a huge problem.

      - It's been said before, but the English font is different from the official English release of KH2. There's nothing wrong with that though, as long as the game is readable. There are also some grammar errors with the new text that had to be translated. They're not huge, but they can be distracting. One thing is that some words aren't capitalized when they should be, like "Two become one" should be "Two Become One," and so on.

Anyway, good work so far. Keep it up.

First I'd just like to give a big thank you to xeyamoo. However, the only thing that bothers me is that there are some lines of text that are just numbers. Other than that its great! Keep up the good work!

Outside of Theater mode he is working to fix that. Make sure you have the latest patch, and if it is still there submit it it Xeeynamo

Hey everyone, I have read through all the advice in this thread and am still having troubles and would GREATLY appreciate some assistance. I have a copy of Kh2FM and would like to patch it to play on a Ps2 emulator on my computer. My questions are as follows:

      1. Is this possible?
      2. I have the patcher, the patch, the dumper, and the MagicISO program, how do I get my games' files into an ISO format?
      3. Once I have it in ISO format, how do I get it to play on my Emulator, I have PCSX2.

I have managed to figure out how to do the actual patching, but am needing help with more of the technical aspects. Thank you so much and sorry for any inconvenience.

      1. Yes!
      2. To create an ISO from the disc, you'll need special software. I personally like DVD Decrypter, which you can download for free from here. Put the disc in your disc drive, open DVD Decrypter, and go to Mode -> ISO -> Read. Click the button at the bottom of the DVD Decrypter window and it'll make you an ISO.
      3. I would recommend using MagicDisc to mount your patched ISO to a virtual CD drive, which you can then run from PCSX2. There might be another way, though--I'm not too familiar with emulators.

Not only is it possible but it is actually easier (in my opinion) to emulate than to run in on a PS2. Considering you are talking about MagicISO and PCSX2 I'm going to assume you have a Windows machine of XP or later.

      Ripping an ISO with MagicISO

      1. Inset "Kindom Hearts 2: Final Mix" into a DVD-ROM drive and note the letter of that drive (this can be found in "My Computer")
      2. Open MagicISO.
      3. Select "Make ISO from CD/DVD-ROM" under the "Tools" dropdown.
      4. Specify the name of the drive from step 1
      5. Click the small folder icon and browse to the folder you want the ISO, type in the the name without an extension, and hit OK.
      6. Set the output format to ISO
      7. Click "OK" and wait as the file is made

Now at this point you need to patch the ISO file. I'm skipping this since you said you know how, but if need help don't hesitate to post. After that is running the ISO (patched or unpatched) in PCSX2.

      Running PCSX2

      1. Under the "CDVD" dropdown make sure "ISO" is selected.
      2. Still under CDVD, go to "ISO Selector" and "Browse..."
      3. Select the ISO you want to play and hit "OK"
Whenever you want to run that ISO again, it should be listed directly under the ISO Selector without having to browse for it again.
      4. Select "System" and "Boot (fast)" and if everything is okay the game should boot right up.

There are many other settings involved in PCSX2 but it is more personalized. The PCSX2 forums have a very in depth guide that should help (here). If you need more help than that feel free to send me a PM.

      hey guys
I'm new to patching so I'm not sure how to do it
could i get a step by step run through please
and can this patch be applied with only a laptop
(i already have the final mix game)

Well first you need the Swap Magic DVD if you want to play it on PS2. If you want to play on an emulator then you need to see if you can run game. (Try Kh2 and see if its fast enough)

Mixt literally posted the step by step guide above your post also...=/

Well my step by step didn't include patching, but Xeeyanmo has instructions on his site.

I'll give you a slightly edited version for clarity here, since his first language is Italian if I'm not mistaken, but it is a really easy process

      1. Make a copy of the ISO, that way if the patch doesn't work you don't need to rip again.
      2. Place in one folder the ISO of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix, and the extracted patch and patcher.
      3. Drag the patch file to the patcher.
      4. When the patcher asks, type in the name of the ISO.

And that's it, sit back and let the patcher do it's thing. Once it is done the ISO you put in will be changed, it does not make a copy or change the name or anything else but it should be English except for some stuff in Theater Mode.
