KH-Vids User Awards: Category Suggestions

I understand where people are coming from with the self-nominations, but at the same time... It doesn't change anything.

What it does change, I don't like. Take me. If I am going to be nominated for any category, I would rather it be by someone else so that I can gauge my own reputation. If I nominate myself, even for a Worst category, I'll feel bad because I can't help but think I am attention whoring. I don't see the point in that, especially for negative attention.

It seems people will take offense no matter how we do it with the Worst nominations in particular. I don't think we can stop people from getting offended without removing them completely. I don't want that, either.

We'll see how the vote goes. Unless you have some other solution...?

 

Well I also think it's too early to judge if people will consistently be offended by the self-nomination version, 'cause yeah it kinda escalated from nothing like Plums said. I think we should give it another try or two to see if that wasn't just a fluke. Anyway, I get the interest in rep (I'm neurotic about what people think of me rofl) but traditionally people get way too into it, and there've been prior accusations of rigging the votes... One's reputation should inform the awards, not the other way around, and I find a lot more of the latter. There's gotta be another way.

 

But we would have to wait yeaaaars for that.

Not really. Most Underrated counts for tge member that is still quite noticed, yet isn't given the rep most others are.

 

That doesn't sound like underrated to me. Underrated just means what it sounds like, people think they are worth less than they are. The reason why I connect the two is because you had more ignored in there and that's very close to underrating.

 

They have to get noticed enough to win your award, too. What is the difference?

 

Underrated does cover that, yeah. It's not so much about rep/likes as it is how unnoticed they may be compared to others and stuff like that. Overrated is more for those who are talked about/brought up/referenced nonstop.

 

Mm. Okay.

Thinking about it, the only way my award would actually work would literally be going and searching for extremely in active members. Oops.
