Try harder, try harder. Just keep dog paddling, and keep swimming, you'll get the hang of it. That's what I always did when I was little until I began to really manage it, so you're off to a good start. I don't know how to properly teach you to swim, since I taught myself. Bu I'll give it an attempt to be a proper teacher xD.

And just this weekend at the mentioned pool party did I began to try professional swimming, like those arm strokes and all? You swim waaaaaaay faster o:.

And it was good exercise :P.

 

Bah. Swimming's overrated. >_>....there's nothing fun about it when you're in a swim team. (Although it is good exercise....even though it hurts....a lot...) But anyway, I think all those other strokes are completely pointless. The only two you'll ever mostly likely need to know in life are breaststroke and freestyle. Freestyle for....if for whatever reason you need to swim super fast. Like....being chased by a shark or something. Breaststroke is I think the simplest stroke. And the best. Although other people might beg to differ. It's a resting stroke, so it's not as painful on the lungs. And heart. But if you do try to swim fast with this stroke you tend to get a lot of toe cramps.....either that or it's just me. >_> SO. Just try and learn breaststroke. Freestyle you can take up later.

 

What I was doing on the pool was freestyle!

Erm, except, um, a more crappy, untrained version.

But I did go faster, it was great.

 

I'm not so good at the whole swimming thing. ^^;

I'm a really fast learner, so my PE teacher was surprised that I wasn't picking it up as fast as the other students. In my mind, I know what I'm supposed to do, but I go really slow. She even said I had the technique almost perfect. She couldn't understand why I was going so slowly.

I can float on my back for a super long time though. 8D

Near the end of the year, we had a swim meet with all the kids in the two 5th period freshman PE classes, including me. I knew I couldn't swim very fast, and I didn't wanna be in the lame catagory for all the kids too scared of the water. (They ran from one end of the pool to the other... in the 3 foot section.) The only catagory left was the back float. I entered, not thinking much of it. On the day of the swim meet, when it came to my catagory, I floated for like, twenty seconds longer than the other kids. The teachers were yelling at me that it was over, but I couldn't hear them because my ears were under water. XD

Because I won that catagory, my team won the whole thing, and we all got 6 points of extra credit! 8'D Not that I needed it, of course, but still.

Nice. XD It's all right Night. Before I learned freestyle, I also was doing some kind of....mock freestlye attempt. I think it was pretty good. But then when I actually learned how to do it.....there's a lot of technique in it. -_-

 

Guys... Horrible sunburn. And I don't even have DF here with an excuse to rub aloe vera lotion all over me. Darnit.​

The thing is, I'll probably be doing a mock freestyle for the rest of my life xD. I'm too scared to actually be trained in a swimming team. Competition puts pressure.

But at least I have a way to beat the rest of my acquaintances in a race. I just have to get more fit.

It will take forever though. I'm only at 685. It's either I get a lot of posts, or I get a lot of rep. For posts, it's going to take me awhile. Cause even if I do reply to most topics, I don't think it can reach to 1,000 that fast.

By all means, you'll definitely get there faster than me. i'm below the 500 mark. :sideways: And.....well...just by looking at your account now(not the profile) i'd say 13-14 ish....possibly 15 because your speech is pretty eloquent.
