No Thanks kh mod or hack section

does any one else feel we should have a section here for mods of kh i mean i was reading coments on the code valet and a lot of people were talking about mods but the adimistraters got them to stop. All i think is if we could have a video game mods or hacking section.
your views on this

I don't really understand what is being suggested... these things aren't allowed in the code vault? That's usually where the hacks for all games (not just KH) go.

 

No there not allowed in the code vault and my suggestion was to have a section were you can put up talk dissus about mods for all the kingdom hearts games and hacks to.

 

well RvR what was happening was
me and a few other people were talking about using certain files to mod kingdom hearts bbs (J) and we were told to keep it strictly code not files etc
i personally dont mind the rules the way they are now i mean we could do those things in vm/pm but thats a bit limited
a big chunk of hacking involves other files not just codes

 

still be nice t have a section for it so we can get other modders who well do mods to post there well mods.

 

only problem with this is
a high percentage of people who mod(not make codes) use an emulator
and if we had a section like that people would ask for/post links to emulators, roms, bios, and other things the staff don't like because most emulation is illegal because people do not rip their own roms/bios
but anyway i also just realized that most of us (mostly me) broke rule #13 of the code vault
rom hacking isnt allowed
i broke this rule several times
as did many other people because you could catogorize certain hacking with pcsx2 as rom hacking so thats kinda a tough one.

 

well we we tell them not to by weever opening that section a pop up come up to not mention the emulater . hey i dont think the goverment seeking around on fansites for mentioning illigeil stuff. lets see what the staff have to say about it.

It depends on what sorts of files you're talking about. And no, the probability that the government is going to get on our backs about piracy is rather slim, but I'd rather not take any chances.

If the files are anything illegal, then no, we can't do this. I don't know much about hacks though so if you're referring to some other sort of files, my apologies.

For the record, supplying any kind of software file via the internet is illegal unless done by the company that made it. However, we wouldn't have to supply the files. We could just use tutorials. If anything, it could be a section to discuss all kinds of game mods that aren't codes. Like with computer games and such.

so i doubt they will allow it

 

There can always be rules against such illegal activity and extremely harsh punishment for it. So long as it's only for tutorials and PPF patches/standalone patcher programs that aren't for the purpose of piracy, I see no problems with it.

 

Hmm tbh ive seen alot of sites and things where they allow talking of emulators,roms and etc. and they also talk and share their modding of game files but i dont think they were ever detected ^^" tbh i don't think the government is doing much on gaming forums of these days since they only read the name and or the sites logo and then leave it thinking that its just a game site and then leave the site never even knowing whats IN the site and also they are talking about modding game files like limit form from KH2FM in KH2 NTSC version and etc. ^^"

 

We know that the government probably isn't scanning Kingdom Hearts websites for illegal content, and if we had said section we probably would never get in trouble for it, but we just don't want to open that door? If we allow this, suddenly people are going to want to be allowed to link to pirated music, movies, etc, and then we've got a Mecca of illegal content on our site.

We just don't want to take the chance... I mean, god forbid the government DOES decide to crack down on us.

 

Yup thats true since if one of this thread gets made then alot of people would come here serching in google and then proveide lot of illegal links and etc. well you have got a point misty XD

 

even on the really really high end sites people break the rules because of this and links get posted people spam asking for stuff.....you know
