As mentioned in an interview with Square-Enix Presents, Tai Yasue said that there were recordings in Boston for the 2.5 HD ReMix soundtrack. Video Game Orchestra has confirmed on their Facebook page that they and SoundtRec Boston will be the ones in charge of remixing over 90 tracks for 2.5 HD ReMix:

I LOVE Video Game Orchestra. This is... like the only way they could make this a bigger deal would be if the freaking philharmonic orchestra performed it
...so can I listen to it now please?

A CD RELEASE!!!!!!! I have only dreamed of this...But I mean it is about time. Though they could have been saving the CD release for when they recorded the music using an actual orchestra rather than empty computer software. So I guess I'm happy that they're releasing the CD with genuine music now instead of earlier.
