KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas blinked when the brunet suddenly took off, and then he narrowed his eyes on his target as he chased after him.

Kairi rotated her body Sora's way when he took off, her lips parted slightly as she watched him run away, Roxas running right past her after him.

 

Namine chuckled softly and took a step over to Kairi, standing by her side as she watched the pursuit.

Sora quickly ran across the snow at a rapid pace, not bothering to turn around and see if Roxas was behind him. He knew that would only slow him down, and he needed every advantage he could get to beat Roxas in this game they were playing.

 

Roxas chased after Sora in hot pursuit, not tearing his eyes away from the boy. He pushed himself a little harder, picking up his pace a little.

Kairi noticed Namine stand next to her out of the corner of her eye, but she didn't look away from the action. She felt the corners of her lips turn upward as she watched the scene in front of her. Boys will be boys.

 

Sora shifted his sight upward and saw that a tree was coming up on his left, and it had a pretty low branch hanging over. It looked sturdy enough, so just a moment before he would have run past it, he raised his right arm and grabbed onto the branch, flipping up and landing in a crouched position on the branch smoothly.

 

Roxas skidded to a halt, his sliding feet leaving tracks in the snow as he looked up at his friend in the tree. "Oh, c'mon! Have to resort to heights to avoid getting caught?" Roxas asked, looking up at Sora. He shook his head and chuckled slightly.

Kairi chuckled lightly when Sora flipped up into the tree. What a monkey, she thought giddily.

 

"What? Can't catch me now?" Sora teased, standing himself up on the one branch. He grinned down at his friend and lifted his arms up to another branch, pulling himself up higher with ease.

Namine arched a brow in amusement as she listened to the boys bickering.

 

Roxas smirked and grabbed onto the branch, pulling himself up. "You do remember what happened last time you were up in a tree, right?" he asked as he finished getting on the branch. The blond thought over this now, and considering the trees were covered in snow, Sora could fall just like he did back in the summer...and since Roxas was climbing as well, so could he.

Kairi turned her head to Namine. "C'mon," she said, motioning with her hand to follow her as Kairi started jogging toward the boys' position.

 

Sora grinned down at his friend, kneeling on the next highest branch. "You expect that to scare me?" Sora asked, feeling cocky at he looked down at his blond friend. That was a long time ago, and besides, he was stronger now. Though he didn't really see the point of Roxas chasing him up a tree; after all, he couldn't get tackled up high above the ground.

Namine nodded in response to Kairi and followed the redhead, jogging toward the tree.

 

Roxas shook his head with a playful smile. "Nope. Just a warning," he said, sitting down on the tree branch and letting his feet dangle over it in the air. Sora was getting higher in the tree, and Roxas didn't see the point in chasing him up. He couldn't really do anything to him when he was a few good feet off the ground.

Kairi saw Sora getting higher in the tree as she approached the boys, running up and stopping a few feet from Roxas' position in the tree. She flitted her eyes up to the other boy in the tree, arching an eyebrow slightly in both amusement and wonder.

 

Sora stopped a few branches up and gazed down when he didn't hear any noise of pursuit. An amused look spread across his face as he looked down at Roxas. "Looks like you've given up," he commented, sitting down on his branch.

Namine stopped next to Kairi and looked up in the tree, watching both boys momentarilly stop their chase.

 

Roxas turned his head and looked up over his shoulder, smiling slightly. "You have to come down sometime," he stated.

Kairi flitted her eyes to both boys whenever they spoke, her gaze holding on Roxas for a moment before turning to Sora.

 

Sora grinned slightly, but he didn't say a word. He came down two branches, still two or three away from Roxas.

 

Roxas smiled slightly and turned his head, his eyes falling on the girls. He flashed them a grin, his feet dangling over the tree branch.

Kairi smiled softly at his grin and then crossed her arms over her chest when she felt a cold breeze. The tips of her hair were wet, and a few parts of her hair were a little damp from lying in the snow just a few moments ago.

 

Namine smiled back up at Roxas, a cool gust of wind reminding her that she was still a little wet.

Sora glanced at Roxas before looking down at the ground. It was a drop all right, but it wasn't too bad. He pressed his arms against the branch and pushed himself off the tree, rolling on the ground once and then smoothly stopping in a crouching position as he turned his head, gazing at the three teens by the tree.

 

Kairi trailed Sora's fall with her eyes, her violet-blue orbs gazing at him on the ground. She kept her arms crossed, her expression a little amused. She knew what was coming, and flitted her eyes to the blond in the tree just as he jumped down.

Roxas pushed himself off the first branch, his feet landing in the few inches of snow. He then started for Sora, taking this as his chance to get him. A small smirk stayed on his lips.

 

Sora's eyes widened slightly at Roxas' quick reaction as he used a hand and pushed himself off the ground, starting to run again.

Namine let her eyes follow Roxas as she saw the pursuit continue, amused at the boys and their antics.

 

Kairi giggled as the boys took off again. They weren't going to quit until it was done, apparently.

Roxas chased after Sora, only a few feet behind him due to his quick reaction to Sora's fall. He started laughing as the pursuit continued.

 

Sora picked up his pace, quickly adding some distance between himself and Roxas. He grinned slightly as he ran, noticing how much faster he seemed than last year.

Namine brought up a hand and brushed away her bangs as she watched the two teens run, their chase making her laugh softly in amusement.

 

Roxas continued his chase, pushing himself a little harder to keep with Sora's fast pace.

Kairi shook her head as she smiled a little in amusement.

 

Sora knew that he couldn't outrun Roxas forever, and he was going to get tackled eventually unless he did something dramatic. He saw a tree to his right and outstretched his arm, grabbing onto the trunk as he made a ninety degree turn.
