KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Kairi felt herself smile faintly. "I'm glad I'm here too," she replied softly.

 

Sora smiled faintly at her soft spoken words. He had almost lost her, and he was just relieved that she was here with him. And neither of them were going anywhere. They were finally together again. And that was a good thing, despite the circumstances.

 

Kairi exhaled softly as she relaxed next to him. Dark Kairi should have known that she couldn't break Kairi's Light that was inside her. Sora was her Light, and the experience only brought Kairi and Sora closer, making their bond stronger.

 

Sora thought back to the battle, which randomly popped up in his mind. Dark Kairi had made a very fatal mistake during that fight: she had gone after Kairi before she had taken care of Sora. Sora...was Kairi's Light, and Kairi was Sora's. Together, they could face any troubles or hardships.

 

Kairi thought of how painful that battle had been for the both of them. It wasn't only physically hurtful, but also emotionally. Kairi knew she had hurt Sora badly when she told him he had to hit her. She knew he would never do such a thing, ever. And Kairi never wanted him to do it again. As the thoughts ran through her mind, Kairi snuggled closer to Sora automatically.

 

But along with making their relationship stronger, it may have done some emotional damage to both of them. Sora had heard Kairi scream...a sound that he absolutely hated. If there was one thing in the world he hated, it was hearing her in pain. And then when she had made him hit her...Sora hated that thought as well. He too moved closer to Kairi.

 

Kairi bit her lip as she kept her eyes closed. She desperately didn't want those thoughts in her mind, but once they were there, she felt that she couldn't block them out. But having seen Sora get pushed around while she was within Dark Kairi wouldn't leave Kairi. And seeing him so angry...and charging at Dark Kairi while Kairi had to watch from within the dark girl... That was why Kairi had turned her head away from Sora after she had taken control the second time he had to hit her. She didn't want to see him charging at her that way.

 

Just the thought of Kairi being in pain made him sick to his stomach. He shivered a little, grabbing her hand tighter. He would do whatever it took to keep her safe...and happy. Heh, hadn't he promised that at the beginning of the battle? And then what happened? Oh yeah, he had choked. He hadn't been able to strike down Dark Kairi when he had the chance, and that may have caused Kairi more pain. He frowned at the nasty thoughts. Where had those come from? He hadn't been that negative in a while.

 

Kairi quit biting her lip when she felt Sora grasp her hand tighter. She opened her eyes and looked at his face that was much closer to hers now that they both moved closer to eachother.

 

Sora exhaled through his nose. He had blown it, hadn't he? He had broken a promise to Kairi, which he never wanted to do. Sure, he had done everything in his power to make sure that things ended right, but if he had acted sooner, maybe things would have ended differently. Could he have really made a significant difference in how they reached the end of the battle? Could he have saved Kairi from any pain...and himself?

 

From the look on his face, Sora looked pained. She didn't know what it was for sure that was bothering him, but she had an idea. The battle...possibly. This brought her back to her own thoughts. Even when he had hit her, she knew he would never do it on will. Ever. He loved and cared for her, as she did for him. In the case of the battle, he had to. She needed him to, which was why she made him do it. She needed his help to defeat Dark Kairi, and they did it together.

 

And even then, Sora couldn't help on his own. No, he had to attack Kairi and cause her pain in order to defeat Dark Kairi. He understood that he needed every advantage he could get, since the girl could easily get out of any situation because of her speed. But the fact that he had actually caused Kairi pain...that was worst than breaking his promise. Both showed that he was a failure, and that he really wasn't worthy to be called a Keyblade Master. Keyblade Masters always did what was necessary without hesitation, and he wasn't able to do that.

 

Dark Kairi had been rotten, mean, dangerous, and harmful in more ways than one, affecting Kairi and Sora in many ways. And the fact that she had been Kairi's darkness bothered the redhead. Only such a haunting and terrible darkness could be from someone with such a pure heart. Kairi looked down from Sora's face and stared at his chest, her eyes on the pattern of his hospital gown. But she had to realize that Dark Kairi was gone, no longer haunting her heart.

 

Sora felt tears hovering behind his closed eyelids. This was the worst feeling in the world...other than being without Kairi. He supposed that as long as she was still with him, he didn't have to worry as much about all those horrible things. But they were haunting all the same.

 

Kairi decided that she needed to stop thinking so negatively. She was with Sora, wasn't that enough? Of course it was. The only reason she was here right now was because of him. He helped weaken Dark Kairi, that way Kairi could take over from within. Kairi looked back up at Sora, biting her lip when she saw the expression on his face.

 

Sora exhaled through his nose, forcing away the nasty thoughts. He didn't have the right to feel miserable; Kairi was the one who had it tougher...right? Of course. He'd take care of her and worry about his own emotions later. He owed that much to her.

 

Kairi blinked and then flitted her eyes away again. She let her teeth leave her lip as she looked down at Sora's chest. She didn't want him to be upset like he was now, which she could tell from his expression. Was it because she was here that he was feeling upset? Would he be reminded of the battle every time he saw her?

 

Sora opened his eyes again, the tears having disapeared. He noticed that Kairi wasn't looking at his face, but at his chest. She didn't look too happy. His eyes softened as he moved his right hand, gently bringing it up and pushing some of Kairi's red hair behind her ear.

 

Kairi flitted her eyes up at the touch, tearing herself away from her thoughts. Her eyes met Sora's as she blinked.

 

Sora looked into Kairi's violet-blue eyes and let his soft eyes search hers as he tried to figure out what was going through her mind.
