KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas spit out the remaining toothpaste into the sink and checked his teeth in the mirror. White and shiny clean. He sighed and grabbed his crutches that were leaning against the wall next to him. He used them to walk out of the hall and toward the living room. He couldn't get up to his room because of his leg and he knew it'd be hard to get up there anyways. His parents just had to pick a two story house, didn't they? He shook his head at the thought as he made his way to the living room to watch a little TV.

 

Namine put a piece of bread into the toaster and wait a moment for it to get nice and brown. She would at least force herself to eat that much. While she was waiting, she turned to the fridge and pulled out some strawberry jam. The sound of a click entered her ear as she turned back to the toaster. It was ready. She silently sat down the jar and grabbed a plate, setting the bread onto it before grabbing a knife and putting on the jam.

Roxas steadily set himself back down on the couch and put his crutches against the couch next to him. He grabbed the remote next to him and turned on the TV, flipping through the channels until he saw an NBA game on. He silently watched the Knicks play while the room slowly grew darker as it got later.

 

Namine finished her bread and put away the jam. The food felt like stone in her stomach, but it would at least keep her from passing out. She sighed softly and went into her room. She silently slipped on her boots and coat before going into a drawer and grabbing her light blue hat and gloves. Once she was bundled up, she walked through the hallway and to the front door, exiting her house and heading to the grave a few blocks away.

Roxas sighed and shook his head when the Knicks lost the ball. He guessed that people had their days, and this happened to be the team's. He leaned his elbow on the arm of the couch and brought his fingers to the side of his face as he rested his cheek against his fingers.

 

Namine walked on the sidewalk, halfway to the grave. She refused to think about what she would do once she was there, so she thought about Roxas instead. Roxas...the boy she loved so much. She exhaled sadly, watching her feet as she walked. She really disliked keeping things from him, especially something like this, that was so important to her.

 

Roxas continued to watch the game, glad that the Knicks were finally starting to pick up their game. But he was still thinking about Namine. They had a very open relationship and they trusted each other, which is why he respected her choice not to explain herself. Sometimes you just couldn't talk about things, and he understood that.

 

In a way, Namine didn't want to be going to that place alone. She wanted Roxas there with her, just because she loved him and trust him so much. But she didn't feel right about asking him to come out with her. He had his leg in a cast, and he needed to take care of himself for a little while. No, she couldn't be a burden.

 

Of course, he wouldn't be a pest and bury her in questions when she got back. Roxas gave people their privacy, which is why he hadn't called with his cell phone to ask Namine what was up. He loved her too much to upset her, and too much to bug her. She'd open up when she was ready, and Roxas knew that she knew he would always be there for her.

 

Namine looked up at the sky as she made a left turn toward the grave yard. It was around sunset, and she could feel the night air getting colder. She shivered slightly as she wrapped her arms around herself. She exhaled and saw her breath as she looked up from her feet. There it was. Her grandfather's grave. She silently approached it and stood about two feet in front of the simple, square headstone.

 

Roxas closed his eyes for a minute and rubbed them for a moment. Despite getting all of that rest, he was still a little drained. He was probably just being too lazy, but where could he go on crutches? He felt immobilized in a way. He couldn't wait for these 3 weeks to get over with.

 

Namine shivered at the cold and wrapped her arms tightly as she knelt down on the grass, her head down as she looked at the ground. Wonderful memories started to enter her mind and she felt...sad? No, she didn't feel sad. Those were happy memories, and they always would make her happy. She wouldn't be able to create any more of them now...she realized that. But then, something else struck her. She could. She definitly could make more joyful memories. With her friends, and those that loved her. It's what her grandfather would have wanted for her.

 

As Roxas' eyes were glued to the television screen, idly watching the players on the basketball teams run across court, his thoughts drifted from hisself to Sora and Kairi. He wondered how either of them were doing. Had Kairi gotten over her sickness? Had she gone and visited Sora so he wasn't lonely anymore? Roxas could only hope the best for his friends.

 

Namine sat there for a long while, not feeling cold anymore. Her grandfather wasn't really gone...he was still in her heart. And she would always have a special spot for him there. He would live on through her. And she would keep living her life. "I love you, grandpa." She whispered, smiling softly at the headstone. And though she knew it wasn't true, she could have sworn she heard his voice in the wind telling her the same.

 

Roxas put a hand on his stomach when it grumbled and he looked away from the TV to his stomach. He hadn't eaten in a while, and he was starving. He reached for his crutches and put them beside his legs on the floor, using them to help push himself up. Leaving the TV on the game, he slowly made his way to the kitchen.

 

Namine smiled softly as she pushed herself to her feet. She had no buissiness being here, really. This was a place for grieving. Her time of grieving was done; now it was time to live. She dust off her knees before turning around and starting for Roxas' house, not turning back.

 

Roxas went to the fridge and opened the door, leaning on his crutches. What could he make that was easy? Well...he could make a sandwhich, the easiest thing to ever make that was still satisfying. He sighed and reached down for the food he would need to make it.

 

Namine looked up at the sky as she walked, surprised at how dark it was. It looked as if the sun had set some time ago, and she hadn't even noticed it. It was definitly night time now, and the sidewalks were a little more quiet than earlier. Still, she was glad to see a few people were still out and moving. It made her feel not so weird.

 

Roxas was thankful that his ham and cheese sandwich didn't take that much work. He picked it up as he leaned his back against the counter and took a bite out of it, too impatient to get a plate.

 

Namine looked ahead of her as she walked, almost back to Roxas' house. Roxas. She smiled at the thought of him. He had put up with a lot from her lately, and she would be sure to make it up to him...somehow.
