KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Kairi opened her eyes and started blinking when Sora's figure was blurry. Her vision cleared for one moment, Kairi catching one last look at Sora before she shut her eyes as another throb of pain hurt her head, entering the real world again.

 

Sora exhaled as he felt himself drifting into conciousness again, out of this empty place. Wait! He had to take one last look at Kairi! Just one last look...

Sora opened his eyes and found himself in the hospital room, his doctor looking down at him as he lay in the bed.

 

Kairi felt the cold, tile floor against her cheek, and she opened her eyes. She blinked a few times when she saw the bathroom counter and the toilet in front of her. Wait... "What?" she asked herself slowly as she lifted her head and looked up at the counter. She winced and grabbed her head as her eyes squeezed shut at the throbbing of pain in her head.

 

Sora's eyes saddened when he realized what had happened. He had left that world without even saying goodbye to Kairi. Without even looking at her one last time. And now that he was back in the real world, in the hospital bed with a doctor who should really stop staring at him as he regained conciousness. He wouldn't be able to see Kairi for a little while too, if she was still sick, anyway. Maybe her dark side had caused her to be sick or something. He could only hope that she was okay now as he lay in the bed, unable to do anything to check on her.

 

Kairi opened her eyes, biting her lip with the pain that took over her head. She sighed softly when it went away for the moment, and when she discovered that she was away from Sora. She reached up and grabbed the edge of the counter and slowly started pulling herself up.

 

Sora turned his eyes back to the doctor, who was giving him a strange look. "What?" Sora asked finally, feeling awkward as the man stared at him.

"How're you feeling?" The doctor asked suddenly, backing off slightly.

"...Okay," Sora said slowly. His head hurt (as always), and his stomach was slightly upset. Why was that...? He couldn't remember.

"You vommitted a little while ago," The man explained softly. "Do you still feel sick?"

Sora blinked once, remembering how sick he had felt before he had fallen asleep. That must have been why he still felt a little sick. "A little bit," Sora said, answering the doctor's question.

 

Kairi finally stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was relieved to not find the same girl who had been there before; Dark Kairi. She sighed in relief and looked toward her room, seeing the window from the bathroom. She had no idea what time it was, or how long she had been out.

 

"I see," the doctor said slowly, taking a step away from the bed as he took his clipboard off the endtable and wrote something down.

"Why did I throw up?" Sora wondered aloud, kind of expecting the doctor to answer him. He was eating enough of the hospital food and such, and it had never made him sick before. What else could have made him sick.

"Do you feel sick in any other way?" The doctor asked, looking down at Sora again.

 

Kairi brought a hand to her head and groaned when pain rang out again. She needed to go get some medicine. Kairi walked out of the bathroom and slowly made her way down the hall toward the stairs.

 

"...Well," Sora started, thinking. "I have a headache still, my stomach is a little upset, and I feel a little weaker than usual. But that could be because I just woke up."

The doctor nodded slightly. "I belive you're showing some post concussion symptoms."

Well, that made sense, considering that he did have a concussion. But showing symptoms from his concussion probably wasn't a bad thing.

 

Kairi slid her hand along the banister of the staircase as she made her way downstairs. She had to admit, she was a little weak from being out for so long, however long "so long" was. She reached the bottom floor and took a left to the kitchen to get her medicine.

 

"Your concussion has intensified since the storm a few nights ago," the doctor state, setting down his clipboard as he looked at the teen. "I think it's necessary for you to stay at least another day to make sure that your symptoms don't escelate as well."

What? At least another day? No! Could things get any worse?! "Can't you just give me medicine or something?" Sora asked, his voice showing some of his frustration.

"I'm afraid we can't do that. We want to make your symptoms disapear, not cover them up." He said, shaking his head slightly.

Sora sighed and looked up at the ceiling, saddened by the news.

"I'm sorry." The man said, looking at Sora a moment before turning his gaze back to the clipboard that he had set on the endtable.

 

Kairi reached into the cupboard and pulled out some medicine for her head. She poured two of the pills into her palm and grabbed a glass before filling it with water. She popped the two pills in her mind and brought the glass to her lips, swallowing the pills. She set the glass down on the counter and sighed. She hoped that would help get rid of her nagging headache. Kairi slowly made her way to the living room and sat herself down on the couch, the TV still on. How long had it been on, anyways?

 

Sora nodded silently, not shifting his gaze from the ceiling as he heard the man quietly leave the room, taking his clipboard with him. Once he was alone, Sora sighed and turned his head on the pillow again, facing away from the window. The other reality hadn't been too kind to him, and this one wasn't either. He didn't know which one was worst: that one or this one. With Kairi not being here with him, he had to say that this one was pretty horrible.

 

Kairi stared out the window, lights coming from the city. She sighed sadly, remembering what she had just woken up from. It had been horrible, but being alone felt worse to Kairi. She closed her eyes and bit her lip. She'd been with Sora for a little while, but it was under the wrong circumstances for a majority of that time. But she remembered having her arms wrapped around him, and desperately wanted to do it again. It was another reality, but she was with him. Kairi kept her eyes closed as she continued thinking about him, but then she heard a laugh, one that sounded exactly like Sora's. She opened her eyes, looking to her right and expecting to see him sitting there with her. But she sighed sadly when she realized that he wasn't, and not being fully awake yet, Kairi knew that she had mistaken the laugh for the person's on the television.

 

Sora felt extremely distressed. Nothing was going his way today. First, he feels sick, and then he wakes up in another reality where he and Kairi almost died. Then he wakes up in the hospital bed and finds out that he has to stay a little longer. He sighed again, tears flooding his eyes. This was horrible. Absolutely horrible. And the worst part was...he was alone. Again. He always felt awful and pessimistic when he was alone.

 

Kairi knew that being sick meant seperating yourself from other people as to not contaminate them. But despite that, she desperately wanted to be with someone; Sora. They'd both almost been killed a little while ago, and it upset her to think about it. But in order to see him again, she had to get better. Kairi stared out the window, sighing sadly at her headache that still bothered her. But...wait... That was all that was bothering her right now. She didn't have chills anymore; she didn't have an upset stomach; she wasn't sneezing or coughing. Kairi blinked in confusion. Why had all her symptoms disappeared?

 

Sora turned his head on the pillow again, his closed eyes facing the window. He hated feeling so terrible, and he really wished that it would just end.

 

Kairi thought back. Before she had collapsed, she'd been feeling terrible, which had been before she encounted Dark Kairi. But now that she was awake, she was fine? How did that work? Had it been Dark Kairi making her sick?

 

Sora turned his head and opened his eyes, looking up at the ceiling as he put his hands down on the bed beside him. He grunt softly as he started forcing himself into an upright position.
