KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Kairi lightly stroked the back of Sora's neck with her thumb as she stared at her white surroundings. She finally started to understand. The area had been black because of Dark Kairi's presence, representing what Kairi's heart would be like if she were to surrender to the Darkness that was pressed behind the Light in her heart. But now, it was white, representing Kairi's heart now--Pure Light. There wasn't anymore Darkness in her heart, not even behind the Light. Her heart was all Light now, and she was glad to call herself a true Princess of Heart.

 

Sora sighed softly, melting away at Kairi's light touch.

 

Kairi turned her head and kissed Sora's neck again. With the haunting darkness gone, Kairi had a feeling things would get better.

 

Sora smiled faintly as he shut his eyes again, enjoying the peace of the moment.

 

Kairi pulled her lips from his skin and moved her hand from his neck as she wrapped her arm around his neck again. She didn't know how long they would hold each other, but she didn't mind. As long as she was with Sora, she didn't care.

 

As much as he was enjoying this moment, Sora couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next. Now that Dark Kairi was gone, would things keep getting better? Or would something terrible happen when they went back into the real world? He was afraid of what the answer could have been.

 

Kairi finally decided to speak in the comforting and peaceful silence. "Are you all right?" she asked softly, finding her voice. She'd seen through Dark Kairi's eyes what Sora had gone through, and she couldn't help but wonder if he was okay.

 

Sora lost his train of thought when Kairi's voice entered his ears, surprising him in a way. Those were the first words that she had spoken since the battle ended. He slowly opened his eyes and nodded softly. "Yeah, I'm fine." His voice was very quiet and a little hoarse. He was still in pain from earlier, but he didn't care as long as he and Kairi were together.

 

Kairi closed her eyes and leaned her head into his neck again. "I'm sorry," she said softly, her voice muffled. He'd gone through way too much because of her, and she knew by the way Sora had acted after Dark Kairi kicked him that last time that he was hurt.

 

"Don't be sorry," Sora spoke softly to Kairi. He was expecting her to say sorry for this, even though she had no reason to. "You didn't do anything."

 

"But she did," Kairi said quietly, her voice still muffled as she kept her face buried in his neck. Dark Kairi had gone after Sora because he stood in the way of what she wanted--Kairi's heart. Kairi knew from the beginning that it had been dangerous for him to be here.

 

Sora shook his head slightly. "You're not responsible for any of her actions," Sora said quietly.

 

Kairi bit her lip. It'd been so painful for her to see Sora getting hurt. She never wanted to see it again, especially if it had been a part of her that was causing him pain. But that darker version was no longer a part of her, so she was glad she never did have to see it again.

 

"It's not your fault," Sora whispered softly, waiting a moment after Kairi stayed silent before he chose to say that simple sentence.

 

Kairi tightened her arms around his neck a little. "It still bothers me...Seeing you--" Kairi cut herself off. Seeing him cry out in pain like that when she was inside the source was never comforting.

 

Sora felt a twinge of sadness in his heart when he heard Kairi stop herself from speaking further. He really couldn't think of any words to say at that moment, so instead, he stayed silent for a moment, thinking.

 

It wasn't only the fact that Dark Kairi caused Sora pain that made Kairi upset. It was the fact that she had to tell him to physically hit her. She'd seen the look in his eyes when her words had registered in his mind, and she hated doing that to him. But it had been the only way to be sure he gained the advantage... And then we he had to do it again... Kairi had made sure she hadn't seen the look in his eyes the second time.

 

Sora sighed softly, burrying his head into Kairi's neck. Thinking about the battle only brought back painful memories...memories that he wanted to forget all about.

 

Kairi bit her lip as she squeezed her eyes shut, her head still buried in Sora's neck. As much as she wanted to forget the memories of the whole ordeal, she knew she wasn't going to let it go for a while.

 

"I don't regret anything," Sora said softly, slowly bringing his head out of Kairi's neck as he opened his eyes and looked off into the distance. He had given his all in that battle, and if he hadn't, then they might not have had this moment right now. If if he was hurting and in pain right now, it didn't matter that much.
