Kairi curiously flitted her eyes to Sora at the girl's question and then she looked back at her darker version. She glanced back and forth one more time, and then glared at Dark Kairi. "Whatever you're doing, stop it!" she ordered.

Dark Kairi chuckled evilly, not tearing her eyes from Sora's.

 

Sora stood, frozen by her cold stare. His eyes were drying, and in the back of his mind he told his eyes to blink, but he was unable to.

 

Kairi clenched her fists. "Stop!" But Kairi had to take her own advice. If she didn't calm down, her anger would only help Dark Kairi get what she wanted.

Dark Kairi didn't even flinch. Her eyes stayed locked on Sora's, who she could tell was panicking.

 

Sora heard Kairi's yell, but he still couldn't force himself to move. What was this power that Dark Kairi had over him? And then he realized why he couldn't bring down his blade; that girl looked too much like Kairi. And he just couldn't hit her when she was just sitting there.

 

Dark Kairi blinked once, leaning forward slightly. "Do it," she pressed him, her head closer to the tip of the Keyblade.

Kairi furrowed her eyebrows. Was she really surrending? No, it was another trick. She would never.

 

Sora blinked once when Dark Kairi spoke, but that was his only reaction. He felt another bead of sweat trickle down his face.

 

Kairi flitted her eyes from her twin, who kept her cold glare on Sora, to the boy next to her. What was wrong?

 

Sora curled his lip into a frown as he let out an angry growl and moved forward, kneeling down slightly as he pressed the side of the blade against Dark Kairi's neck. "Just shut up." He ordered, his voice tight and firm.

 

Dark Kairi only let a small smile come across her face, her expression evil and sly.

Kairi felt chills go down her spine when Sora spoke. She'd never heard him speak this way before. But she kept her face strict, her eyebrows furrowed as she glared at Dark Kairi.

 

Okay; enough was enough. Sora furrowed his eyebrows angrilly and pulled back the keyblade, preparing to strike her over the head.

 

Dark Kairi smiled wider and waited for just a second longer.

Kairi's eyes followed Sora's blade as he pulled it back.

 

Sora stayed in that position as he glared down at the girl. He wanted so badly to bring down the Keyblade on her, but because of her appearance...and the cry she would make when hit, he couldn't do it.

 

Dark Kairi waited, and when he didn't strike, she quickly pushed herself up. Her smile widened as she took a step forward, now right in front of Sora. "I must admit, Kairi does have herself quite a catch," she said. She lightly ran her fingers under Sora's chin once. "Too bad he's too predictable," she said with a dark and snobby tone.

Kairi sucked in a breath, shocked by how Dark Kairi thought she could just do what she wanted with him. But why was Sora backing down?

 

Sora felt his eyes widen in frustration and agony when he felt Dark Kairi touch him. He instinctively lowered his keyblade as he brought up his other hand to swat her away from him.

 

Kairi glared at Dark Kairi. She definitely did not like her that close to Sora, not at all.

 

Sora brought his hand back to his side as he took one step back, staring at Dark Kairi in anger and frustration.

 

Dark Kairi only smirked.

"Hey!"

Dark Kairi turned her head to stare coldy at the girl who hollered.

"Leave Sora alone," Kairi demanded. "I'm the one you want, not him. Now stop with the games."

 

Sora blinked once when he heard Kairi's voice, but he kept his eyes on the Dark Kairi. He curled his hand into a fist.

 

"So now you decide to step in? After your boyfriend tries to protect you?" Dark Kairi asked menacingly.

"Yes," Kairi answered.

Dark Kairi took a few steps, walking slowly as if pacing, the side of her body facing Kairi. She put a finger on her chin. "I don't really see why he even tries. All he's doing is wasting energy."

Kairi kept her eyebrows furrowed. "Sora's protecting me because he loves me and doesn't want to see me get hurt. I can't say the same for you," Kairi spat.

 

Sora slowly turned toward the two girls, his mouth open slightly as he watched their arguement. He wanted to say something--to tell that demon to step away. But he couldn't find his voice.
