KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine awkwardly brought up a hand, waving softly to her friends. This really was a weird situation, and she was sure they all were sharing this feeling of embarassment.

"Hi," Sora forced out the greeting, feeling his cheeks start to redden. He quickly regained his composure, bringing up his right hand and waving to the two blondes.

 

"Hi," Roxas replied with a small, sheepish smile, his hand coming down to his side. His eyes flitted from Sora to Kairi, noticing that both of them had slightly reddened faces in the light. He could also see the embarrassment in Sora's eyes, as Kairi's was expressed through her avoiding their gazes for a moment.

Kairi kept her gaze lowered, her eyes finding Sora's arm, his hand on her back. She kept her hands on his chest, her fingers next to the lapel of his tuxedo as she bit her lip. I can't believe they just saw that, she thought, embarrassed.

 

"You know, you always do have the worst timing, Roxas..." Sora state with a soft chuckle, though that still showed some of the awkwardness he felt.

Namine smiled weakly at the joke, hearing embarassment in Sora's voice. This was pretty awkward....

 

Roxas chuckled nervously, but also with humor. "Heh, well...you know me," he said, agreeing with Sora's statement. It was pretty apparent that he was right, this situation being proof enough.

Kairi felt the light heat on her cheeks, the girl still blushing. She lifted her gaze, turning her head slightly to meet the two blondes' gazes.

 

Sora smiled weakly, trying to make the situation less awkward...if that was possible. But how could he break the ice...?

Namine met Kairi's gaze and she gave her friend a weak smile, seeing that her cheeks were still pink. She and Roxas hadn't meant to embarrass their friends, but coming in at an awkward moment like that would definitly cause tension.

 

Kairi met Namine's gaze, and returned her smile with a small, shy one of her own. This was unfortunately really uncomfortable, and she didn't really like it. She lowered her eyes to the floor before turning her head, looking back up at the boy that still held her in his arms.

Roxas smiled weakly, and sheepishly, not meaning to intrude on the couple's moment. He wasn't sure what to say, but he said the first thing that came to mind. "So...how long have you guys been over here? The last time I saw you, Sora, was when we split up to meet the girls." Roxas was glad to see that his voice didn't reflect as much of the awkwardness as he felt, hoping that would break the uneasiness of the moment.

 

"A little while," Sora answered, grateful for the subject change. "We were inside for a little while, but since it got more crowded, I thought it might be more comfortable out here," Sora elaborated on his earlier statement, his voice showing a small amount of embarassment but not enough to make the situation any more awkward than it already was.

Namine nodded faintly. That was probably the idea that Roxas had in mind when he brought her out here. Little did he know...Sora and Kairi were already here and, well, having a moment.

 

Kairi's smile stayed on her face as she looked at Sora, silently agreeing with his statement. She bit her lip slightly as she turned her gaze to Roxas, her eyes finding his blue eyes behind his black mask.

Roxas nodded. "That's the same reason we came, except it wasn't really the crowded issue," he said, turning his head to look at Namine as he finished that sentence. After a second of hesitation, he turned his gaze back to Sora. "It was more of an...uncomfortable issue," he finished slowly, trying to find the right word for it. But this moment was just the same; uncomfortable...

 

Namine bit her lip lightly, being reminded of why they came out. Still, things may have been more calm out here, but they were still awkward.

Sora arched a brow slightly in curiousity, though he stayed silent. Roxas didn't go into detail for a reason, so he would leave it at that. But... this wasn't comfortable either. "Well, sorry things aren't too comfortable out here..." Sora gave his friend a sheepish smile.

 

Kairi's shy smile grew a little at Sora's statement, the girl's teeth showing slightly as the redness of her cheeks started fading, the girl keeping her position.

Roxas smiled slightly, his smile being almost identical to Sora's. He chuckled nervously. "Yeah...it's okay," he said. Roxas kept his hold on Namine's hand, his fingers still intertwined with hers. Maybe they should go...

 

"Like I said, you really do have the worst timing...." Sora state with a chuckle, lightening the atmosphere slightly.

Namine smiled faintly at the joke. It was true; Roxas really did have bad timing in almost everything that happened, whether it was a casual mistake or something big like this.

 

"Well..." Roxas brought his free hand to the back of his head, smiling sheepishly as he looked at his friends. "I think that's natural for me," he said before chuckling softly. Sora was right, though; Roxas always came in or said something at a really bad, awkward, or serious moment. It really wasn't something he could help; it was just one of those natural flaws.

Kairi's smile widened slightly at the words being exchanged, that shyness leaving her slightly.

 

Namine gave Roxas' hand a soft squeeze, the girl's smile growing at his humor. She was glad that he was able to laugh at himself; that was just one more thing that she loved about him.

"Unless you plan to do it, of course. It does happen a lot," Sora teased the blonde teen, leaving some of his embarassment leave him as the exchange of words between them continued.

 

Roxas smiled, both in slight shyness and agreement. He looked over at Namine when she squeezed his hand, the boy immediately squeezed hers back. He turned his head to his friends again, still smiling. "Yeah..." he said, agreeing. "I guess I am pretty good at that." He chuckled slightly.

Kairi looked at Roxas, her smile still on her lips. The boy wasn't very shy about agreeing, Roxas being pretty comfortable with himself.

 

"Guess you don't have to try too hard to do something that comes naturally..." Sora said with a smile, feeling a lot of tension leave the air. Though they were still talking about the subject that caused awkwardness, things were starting to become less tense.

Namine's faint smile grew, the girl starting to feel a little more relaxed. Still though, things were a little awkward...

 

Roxas nodded once, his soft smile on his face. "I guess so," he replied, agreeing again. "I think that feeling's mutual, considering you and your playful side, Sora." Roxas' smile grew a little, knowing that Sora was naturally willing to have fun, no matter what it was or where they were.

Kairi's smile widened, the girl giggling slightly for the first time. She shifted her gaze to the boy in front of her, her hands still against his chest. She could agree with that; Sora was always fun.

 

Sora smiled at the words, glad that Roxas was contributing to the conversation. I'm doing that right now, aren't I...? he pondered the question before realizing the truth. It was true, he was trying to lighten the situation with jokes and laughter, despite the awkwardness he himself had felt. "Guess it just comes naturally," Sora said with a grin.

Namine's soft smile grew at the words. The boys were both right; Sora did have a way of naturally making things more playful.

 

Roxas smiled at his friend, the feeling of tension and awkwardness leaving them a little more.

Kairi's smile widened slightly at Sora's grin, that being one of the many things she loved about him.

 

Sora's smile softened at the silence, the teen not able to think of anything else to say.

Namine smiled faintly, her eyes falling on the couple in front of him. They had looked comfortable before, and she really did regret playing a part in ruining their moment. Still though, there wasn't much that could have been done about that; it was simply bad luck that brought this upon them all.

 

Roxas' smile faded a little, the boy letting his eyes wander past Sora and Kairi and out to the side slightly. He looked out past the balcony, seeing a neatly trimmed bush on the bottom floor. He looked away quickly, remembering he wanted to surprise Namine with that sight.
