KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine exhaled softly, feeling a relieved when the boys continued to walk past them. She definitly didn't want any trouble; there had been too much of that lately. Even though they were out of view, Namine could still hear their laughter, and it brought up an unpleasant memory.

 

Roxas inhaled softly and then exhaled, letting his eyes search the crowd as he tried to find his other two friends, wanting to escape any negative thoughts that involved a few unfortunate events in the past. Where could Sora and Kairi be?

 

Namine shut her eyes, letting her head fall slightly. No, she didn't want to think about that. Thinking about it would only bring sadness and hurt, and she didn't want anything to ruin the fun night she and Roxas were having.

 

Roxas let his head turn slightly as he continued to search the crowd for his friends, until he turned it enough to see the blonde beside him. He looked down at her, seeing a familiar expression on her face. He squeezed her hand gently, letting her know he was there for her. Always.

 

Namine slowly opened her eyes at the gentle gesture, the girl turning her head and looking up at Roxas. She gave him a weak smile, grateful that he was there.

 

Roxas returned Namine's small smile with one of his own, his eyes on hers. "You okay?" he asked over the music. He was a little worried that he had to ask, but he wanted to make sure that Namine was alright.

 

Namine's weak smile grew slightly, the girl able to see that Roxas was concerned. He knew her very well, especially if he could tell by that one simple expression she held that she felt a little sad. But she chased away that emotion, only wanting to feel relaxed and comfortable again. "Mmhmm," she answered Roxas' question, her light-blue eyes gazing up into his orbs.

 

Roxas' smile grew slightly as he nodded once. "Good," he said, his eyes staying on hers. He heard the music play loudly in the room, but he heard something louder than that; laughter, which sounded overly obnoxious.

 

Namine's faint smile stayed on her lips as she held at Roxas, though it faded after a few moments when she heard the loud, obnoxious laughter again.

 

Roxas held Namine's gaze for one more moment before the laughter grew a little louder, causing him to lift his gaze to the area past Namine. His blue eyes found the same group of guys coming back over this way, being slightly rude because they were so loud.

 

Namine bit her lip lightly and lowered her gaze to Roxas' chest, hearing the laughter growing in volume. Not only did it make her uncomfortable to have the obnoxious, rude group closeby, but it also brought up unpleasant memories...one in particular.

 

Roxas tightened his grip on Namine's hand, not liking the way these guys presented themselves. It started to bring back unpleasant memories, but he didn't want them to reappear, not tonight. He vowed to make tonight fun for Namine, and he was going to follow through with that promise.

 

Namine stopped biting her lip when she felt Roxas' grip tighten, her eyes wandering down to their hands. She exhaled softly, seeing the group of guys out of the corner of her eye. They stopped a few feet away, the group of guys continuing their obnoxious behavior.

 

Roxas leaned over slightly. "Let's go. Come with me," he whispered into Namine's ear, feeling like he wanted to get away from the group. And he sensed that Namine felt the same.

 

Namine lifted her head at the voice, her eyes going up and finding Roxas. She gave him a faint nod, knowing that he was just as uncomfortable as she was.

 

Roxas looked at Namine for a second and then turned his head, holding her hand tighter instinctively as he started to lead her away from the men.

 

Namine lightly gripped her dress with her free hand, lifting it up off the floor as she followed Roxas. Though they were a few steps away from the group, Namine still felt uncomfortable. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a tall guy backing up, and the next thing she knew, he had bumped into her. She stumbled slightly in her heels, but quickly regained her balance.

 

Roxas stopped, turning slightly at the sudden jerky movement. "Are you alright?" he asked Namine, seeing her slightly surprised expression.

 

Namine kept her eyes on the man for a moment, half-surprised that he didn't at least turn around and offer an apology. As he walked back to the group laughing, Namine heard Roxas' voice. She turned her head toward him, giving him a faint nod. "Fine," she answered, having to raise her voice to be heard over the obnoxious laughter.

 

Roxas nodded once before lifting his sight to the group of guys, wanting to say a few things to the man that ran into Namine. But he exhaled a breath, deciding that the guy wasn't worth it. Roxas would just be wasting his breath. He squeezed Namine's hand gently, tightening his hold on her hand as he turned and started walking again. The sooner they got away from those punks, the better.
