KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas opened his eyes, his blue orbs automatically falling on his leg. The pain started to subside and he leaned his head back in relief. He stared at the ceiling for a moment, the pain leaving his leg finally, before looking across the room, seeing a blonde sitting on the carpet.

 

Namine brought one hand up to tuck some of her blonde hair behind her ear before going back to her previous position, her eyes open halfway as she gazed down at the floor.

 

Roxas smiled softly at the sight of her. She seemed to be having a peaceful moment, so he wasn't going to ruin it. It's not like her could get over there anyway; he'd only hurt himself.

 

Namine bit her lip and opened her eyes completely. When she was little, she used to sit on her grandpa's lap on the front porch swing at his house and watch the sunset. She felt tears flood her eyes and let her eyes look down at the carpet. She missed him so much.

 

Roxas leaned his head back and sighed quietly, staring up at the ceiling. The calm was nice.

 

Namine sniffled softly, using one hand to wipe at her nose. She had run out of tears a long time ago. She lift her eyes and gazed out the window, wondernig what was going to happen next.

 

Roxas bit his lip as he came up with designs on the ceiling with his eyes. For some reason, he had a feeling things would be quiet like this for the next few weeks.

 

The New York City looked beautiful as the sun set, the sky bright pink and orange. Namine bit down on her lip, countless memories of being with her grandfather coming back to her mind. But this time...they weren't bad memories. But still, they reminded her of what she was missing. She silently pushed herself up off the ground and stood on the carpet, her hands together behind her back as she gazed at the sunset.

 

Roxas caught movement out of the corner of his eye and lowered his head to look ahead of him. He saw Namine, standing there with her hands held behind her back as she stared out the window. He followed her gaze and just then noticed the sun setting down on the city. Roxas reached over the arm of the couch and grabbed his crutches. He put them on either side of him and pushed himself up before silently making his way to the person he loved so much. His blue eyes squinted when they met the sun through the window, Roxas now standing by Namine.

 

Namine blinked when she noticed that Roxas had come over beside her. She brought her hands to her side and turned her eyes down for a moment before gazing out the window again.

 

Roxas blinked and lowered his eyes away from the sunlight, his eyes falling on her form. He looked at her for a moment, wondering what was running through her mind before turning his gaze back to the sunset.

 

Namine bit down on her lip again and let her eyes fall for a moment. Since this was something she had always done with her grandpa, it felt strange to be here without him. Strange...and sad.

 

Roxas shifted on his crutches a little. As much as he liked being up and moving around, this wasn't really all that comfortable. He looked at the sun for one more second before glancing at Namine. "You okay?" he asked softly.

 

Namine nodded a little, lifting her head as she turned to Roxas. "Just thinking," she said quietly, her eyes finding his.

 

"Mm." Roxas nodded. He turned his attention back to the window, the sun starting to set lower with every second. He was thankful for the peaceful moment, but at the same time he got this feeling that it wasn't really peaceful. He didn't know what it was, so he ignored it.

 

Namine turned away, letting her eyes gaze outside for a moment before looking down to her feet again.

 

"I'll be back in a sec," Roxas said, turning his head to look at her before using his crutches and exiting the room to the use the restroom.

 

Namine nodded softly at Roxas before forcing herself to look out the window. Maybe she was just over reacting. Maybe...she wasn't alone. Maybe her grandpa was still in her heart, watching the sunset with her. But how could she know for sure? She needed to find out.

 

Roxas made his way down the hall to the bathroom, his crutches making the destination longer.

 

But of course, she didn't know how to find out. She couldn't exactly just ask her grandpa for obvious reasons. She bit down on her lip as the sun finally disapeared.
