KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

March 21st, that's tomorrow... Sora thought to himself. Why are these guys out so late selling tickets for this thing? He kept the question to himself, not wanting to be rude. "What's this?" Sora asked aloud, not really talking to anyone in particular.

"Me and my friends are in charge of this for a school project," one of the young men explained, answering Sora's question. "We have to sell four more tickets for it, or else we're gonna fail."

"We should have come out earlier," one of the others mumbled, sounding frustrated.

"Four more tickets, huh...?" Sora trailed off, lowering his head slightly in thought. That gave him an idea; but would Roxas go for it?

 

Roxas looked up at the short conversation, seeing the look of disappointment and frustration on the students' faces. That was too bad that they were going to fail if they didn't sell the tickets; that was never good. He turned his head to Sora, noticing the boy looking down in thought.

 

"Hey Roxas...?" Sora looked up at his friend after a moment. He wondered if Roxas had the same idea he had, but he couldn't tell from his friend's expression whether he did or not.

 

"Hm?" Roxas hummed in question, wondering what was on Sora's mind. He had a feeling it involved the masquerade ball these students were advertising and trying to promote, and he had to admit that the idea of it sounded fun, considering he had never been to anything of the sort before. But he pushed that thought aside as he looked at his friend, wondering what was up.

 

"...You think we could help these guys out?" Sora asked Roxas hesitantly. A masquerade ball did sound pretty fun, and he was pretty sure that the girls would enjoy going to one. But he wasn't sure if he could sell Roxas on the idea.

 

Roxas's lips formed a soft smile. "Sure, why not?" he answered happily. He would be glad to help these guys out, and he was sure Namine and Kairi would find the oppurtunity to go to be fun, even if it was last minute.

 

Sora nodded slightly, a smile forming on his lips. "Four tickets, please."

 

Roxas reached into a pocket of his jeans, pulling out his wallet. He would pay for his and Namine's tickets, thinking Sora would pay for his own and Kairi's.

 

Sora put the football in his left hand before reaching into his right back pocket, pulling out his wallet. He was thankful that he had money, though it would only cover the tickets. Now he wouldn't have enough for a cab ride home. Well, he'd worry about that later.

"Thank you so much," one of the students said, taking the money out of Sora's outstretched hand and giving the brunette two tickets.

 

Roxas thumbed through the money in his wallet until he found the thirty bucks for the two tickets. Smiling softly, he held out the money in exchange for the tickets.

 

"Thanks," the student said again, turning and facing Roxas now. He accepted Roxas' money and gave the blonde teen two tickets in exchange.

 

"Sure thing," Roxas responded politely, smiling softly. He put away his wallet, holding the tickets in his other hand.

 

Sora put the tickets in his wallet, having set the football down on the ground so he could use both hands. He folded his wallet back up and slid it into his back pocket. "Well, I guess we have plans for tomorrow night," Sora said to Roxas, a sheepish smile appearing on his lips.

 

Roxas nodded. "And during the day too; we gotta go get tuxes," he added with a small smile before looking at the two tickets in his hand. 6:30; not a problem. They had all day to get ready for it.

 

"How're we going to tell the girls?" Sora mused aloud. They had just made plans for all of tomorrow, and he wondered how the girls would feel about their sudden decision to attend this ball.

 

Roxas pressed his lips together, thinking about that. "Hm...I don't know," he said. "But I don't think they'll mind a little surprise." His lips formed a small smile across his face.

 

Sora smiled at Roxas' response. "Agreed." The brunette looked up at the sky, noticing how much darker it was. "Speaking of the girls, we should probably head back. We all need to be well rested for tomorrow," he state with a grin, starting to feel excited for the ball.

 

"Right," Roxas agreed with a nod, turning away from the table as he slid the tickets in his pocket. They would be gone all day to get what they needed for the ball, and then all night for attending the ball. The boy's smile grew at just the thought of it.

 

"Wanna race back?" Sora asked playfully, turning his head and looking at Roxas. For some reason, he suddenly felt an urge to run.

 

Roxas smirked. "Don't let the extra weight of the football slow you down!" he teased, flashing a playful grin before running off, getting a head start.
