KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Sora chuckled and caught the ball. "Yeah...had jobs," Sora repeated, grinning sheepishly. He had never gotten any formal notification that he was fired, but he was sure that was the case for all of the. Oh well, life was more than just a job. With all the drama that he and his friends had gone through in the past year, he understood that even more than he had before.

Namine sat cross legged on the grass, her hands folded in her lap. A soft wind blew towards her and some of her blond bangs came down into her face, not that she really minded. Seeing the children run around, yelling and having fun, really reminded her of the snowball fight back on Valentines Day. That had been a ton of fun, even if it had ended badly. Still, things had turned out all right, and that was what really mattered.

 

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're fired," Roxas said, chuckling a little. Not that he really minded; having a job had been more of a pain anyway, even if he was getting paid for it. But things were more important now, one person especially.

Kairi exhaled softly, closing her eyes at the gentle breeze. She was going to take all of this in, that way she could enjoy it while it lasted. Of course, she was sure there were more moments like this to come.

 

Sora laughed in agreement, shifting the ball to his right hand. "I think that's probably a good guess," he said, thinking the exact same thing. He pulled back his arm and tossed the ball to Roxas again.

Namine shut her eyes, letting her head fall slightly in relaxation. It really was a beautiful day. And even though she and Kairi didn't have much to say, it was okay. The silence between them was peaceful, and she knew that Kairi had heard about everything she and Roxas had been through. Still, there wasn't much need to talk about it now. That was the past, and Namine was sure nothing like it would ever happen again.

 

Roxas smiled, bringing up his hands and catching the ball. He shifted it into his hand, putting his fingers on the laces. He brought his arm back and then pulled forward without a lot of effort, the ball leaving his hand and heading toward Sora.

Kairi took in a soft breath and released it, feeling the gentle breeze push her red hair against her cheek slightly.

 

Sora put his arms at his chest level and caught the ball easily, the throw having been another good one. He moved the ball to his right hand, putting his fingers in the correct spots on the laces.

Namine opened her eyes again at the sound of laughter, seeing the children running and having fun. She smiled softly at the site, the blonde girl silently watching them continue their game.

 

While Sora got ready to throw the ball, Roxas glanced over near Namine again. He couldn't help it; he was just so protective over her ever since...well, everything. She was so important to him.

Kairi heard movement next to her, and she opened her eyes and turned her head. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw a golden retriever panting next to her. She smiled and giggled, lifting up a hand and petting it on the head.

 

Sora heard a giggle over to his side, but he didn't look over at that moment, the teen just then releasing the ball and throwing it at Roxas.

Namine turned her head when she heard a giggle, her eyes widening when she saw why Kairi had giggled. "I think he's fond of you, Kairi," Namine said with a giggle, her smile widening at Kairi and the dog.

 

Roxas saw the dog next to Kairi and smiled, but then turned his head. He turned it just in time too, catching the ball just as it was about to hit his chest.

Kairi looked over at Namine at her words and she smiled, turning her head to look back at the dog. She scratched it behind the ears, the dog right next to her.

 

Sora turned his head over toward the girls, surprised to see Kairi with a dog by her side. A golden retriever...they were normally a nice, friendly breed. It was no threat to Kairi, so Sora let it be. If she was ever in real danger, he would be there in a heartbeat. But now was not one of those times.

Namine picked herself up slightly, moving over closer to Kairi. She sat by her friend and the dog, sitting on her knees now. She reached forward with her hand and lightly ran it over the dog's back, seeing its tail wagging rapidly in happiness.

 

Roxas shifted the ball around in his hands, getting the laces lined up with his fingers. He lifted his gaze as he brought the ball back. "Heads up!" he called, releasing the ball from his fingers.

The dog panted in Kairi's face before turning its head and looking at the other girl petting him. Kairi's eyes fell on Namine for a moment. She smiled, continuing to scratch the dog behind the ears. She turned her head to look at the dog, its golden coat a little darker under the shade.

 

Sora turned his head forward just in time to see the football hurtling toward him. "Whoa!" He took a step back and caught the ball at his chest, barely having enough time to react.

Namine smiled, some of her blond hair blowing the breeze as she continued to pet the dog. "Hey there, boy," she cooed, seeing the dog looking at her now. Suddenly, the golden retriever leaned forward, giving Namine a big, wet, sloppy kiss on her cheek.

 

Roxas made a face, his eyes widening. "My bad! Sorry," he apologized to his friend quite a few feet from him.

Kairi started laughing, no longer chuckling anymore. She was laughing both at the dog's sudden action and Namine's reaction.

 

"Yeah, I'm sure you're sorry," Sora said sarcastically, teasing his best friend. A grin was on his lips, showing that he was joking.

Namine let out a loud laugh, bringing up her arms and gently pushing the dog away. But apparently he wasn't done with her yet. The blonde girl let out a squeal when the dog suddenly came forward, toppling the girl. Namine laid down on her back now, the dog standing over top of her and panting in her face. The golden retriever looked strangely satisfied, as if it were pleased with itself.

 

Roxas chuckled, and then looked over to his left when he heard loud laughing.

Kairi put a hand on her stomach, laughing even more at the dog and Namine. "I think he's fond of you, Namine," she managed to get out between laughs.

OOC: I have to go for the night. See you later!

 

Sora followed Roxas' gaze, seeing that the girls were having an interesting time as well.

Namine's laughter grew louder, the blonde girl shutting her eyes and turning her head as she laughted so the dog wouldn't pant right at her face. The golden retriever didn't give up though; that dog really did like Namine. A lot.

OOC: Okay, see you tomorrow!

 

Roxas felt a smile grow on his face from Namine's laughter. Hearing her so happy caused Roxas to feel the same.

Kairi kept a hand on her stomach as she laughed at the action taking place, her eyes flitting from the gold retriever to Namine and then back again. The dog seemed to like both of them really well, but she wasn't sure why. Regardless, the dog was causing a fit of laughter.

 

Sora lowered the football slightly, holding it in front of him as he watched the girls. He arched a brow in amusement, a soft chuckle leaving his lips at the site.

Namine laughed both at the dog and at Kairi's statement. Her soft blue orbs flickered open as Namine turned her head again, the dog still panting in her face. She smiled and brought up her right hand, setting it on the dog's ear and starting to rub it.

 

Roxas didn't know whose dog that was, but he seemed very attached to Namine, and Kairi too, by the looks of it.

Kairi took in a breath, softening her laughter to giggles as she brought up a hand and ran it over the dog's back.

 

Sora continued to watch the girls, silently wondering if he and Roxas should head over there as well. The dog was pretty friendly, so he doubt that they would scare it away.

Namine's laughter had just started to soften as she gazed up at the dog, bringing her hand down to her side after a few moments. But then the golden retriever bent its head down, giving Namine a big, sloppy kiss on the face again.

 

Roxas heard himself start laughing a little when the dog gave Namine a kiss on her cheek. "Hey, that's my job!" he yelled playfully, referring to giving the blonde girl a kiss on the cheek. His chuckling had stopped while he spoke, but then started up again as he started to make his way over to the girls.

Among her chuckles, Kairi heard Roxas's cry, turning her head over her shoulder and finding the two boys, her face lit up with laughter and happiness.
