Sora inhaled softly, his embrace around Kairi loosening ever so slightly as he relaxed. Just being here with her was enough to make him feel calm and serene. There was no need for talking; the silence spoke much more loudly. And in this case, that was a good thing.

Kairi released a silent breath through her nose, glad that she came over to Sora's. He always made her feel comfortable, and he always made her happy. But the spiky-haired brunet also made Kairi feel something much stronger; loved.

Sora softly released a breath, staying in that position. He was totally comfortable that way. Having Kairi in his arms was very soothing, and it made him feel as if he really were her protector.

Kairi didn't say or do anything to show her appreciation of Sora's support, security, and protection. It was all in her heart, and since their hearts were connected, she was sure Sora already knew how she felt.

Sora felt a pang of warmth in his heart, and it made him feel even more at ease. He suddenly felt himself loosing his grip on conciousness, feeling as if he could fall asleep at any moment. It was true that he hadn't slept too deeply these past few nights, though that didn't mean he was short on sleep either. Well, that didn't matter now. He was going to fall into a state of sleep pretty soon; he was sure of that.

Kairi sighed softly, both in relaxation and in slight tiredness. She wasn't exhausted, but felt as if a nice nap would satisfy her need for a little sleep. And with Sora holding her, she was sure it would be comfortable.

Sora felt himself slipping quickly now, but there was something he wanted to say before he went under. "I love you, Kai," Sora stated, his voice soft and drifting slightly, showing his sudden tiredness.

Kairi felt the breath as Sora spoke lightly go over her head, moving a few hair strands. She smiled at his words, noticing how drowsy they seemed. "I love you too, Sora," she responded somewhat sleepily, exhaling as she replied. She was feeling herself drift as if she would leave conciousness at any moment.

Sora smiled faintly at her reply, his blue eyes staying hidden behind his closed eyelids. He inhaled softly before releasing it, the air running over the top of Kairi's hair. That was the last action he took before he faded out of conciousness and into a light state of sleep.

Kairi listened to Sora's even breathing for a moment, her soft smile fading slightly as she felt herself drifting. She took in a soft breath before releasing it slowly, relaxing a little more in Sora's arms. Her hand still against his chest, Kairi drifted off to sleep in Sora's arms.

    OOC: 'Kay. =)

    3 weeks later...

Roxas caught the twirling football after it was passed to him, catching the ball smoothly. He put his fingers along the white laces, bringing his right arm back a little before throwing the football back to the brunet that had passed it to him. A warm, gentle breeze blew at Roxas's blond spikes, the boy enjoying the warmer weather New York was having in the later weeks of March. This was the first time that Roxas had hung out with all of his friends together since the accident over a month ago. He was glad that they had all moved on, because none of that was worth reflecting over.

Kairi closed her eyes at the gentle breeze as she sat under a shade tree next to her best friend, her red hair blowing slightly in the light wind. Kairi listened to the newly grown leaves rustle around in the wind in the tree above her. Gosh, she loved this weather, and hanging out with everyone like she was now, everyone enjoying themselves. After what happened quite a few weeks ago, Kairi and her friends had been able to move on from all of the hard times, especially with each of their own support.

Sora brought up his arms and smoothly caught the brown football, fingering it slightly as he shifted it into this right hand alone. "Nice throw," he commented, bringing his arm back and launching the ball toward Roxas again. He and Roxas were just casually passing the ball, the two having just started a few minutes ago. After a phone call a few days ago, they had all agreed to meet at the park to catch up. He highly doubt they had anything eventful to talk about now, since Roxas had explained a lot on the phone the other day. He had told Sora about why they had suddenly left and what happened after that, making brunette feel some remorse. He and Kairi may have had it really hard, but so did Roxas and Namine. Still, he was glad that they seemed much better now.

Namine's eyes flitted upward at the sound of rustling leaves, the girl seeing the tree covered in leaves abover her head. The weather was very nice lately, and today was no exception. "It's beautiful out," Namine stated, her eyes falling to the girl by her side. She hadn't seen Kairi in a while, and the last time they had been together, it wasn't enjoyable. But after everything that had happened, she was glad to see that her best friend was doing okay. Sora was really taking good care of her; Namine knew that much for sure. It was great that they finally were a couple, because they really were perfect for each other.

Roxas caught the ball and smiled. "Thanks," he replied. He looked down at the football as he adjusted it in his hands, then looking up as he brought his arm back. He pulled his arm forward, releasing the football and watching it twirl through the air. Roxas was glad to be spending time with his other two friends ever since what happened to Kairi a while ago...but also Namine. All of them, really. He had explained it to Sora over the phone, calling to let him know how he and Namine were doing since that day. Of course, the many events that occured between Roxas and Namine, and a few other jerks Roxas hated thinking about, were discussed, Roxas filling Sora in over everything. Even over the phone, Roxas could tell that Sora had felt upset over it, though he hadn't had a reason to; Roxas and Namine handled the events on their own, and got through it by sticking together. But he did understand where Sora had come from, because Roxas would've felt the same way if it happened to him and Kairi. But he was glad it didn't; Sora and Kairi were finally happy, and in turn, Roxas was happy for them.

Kairi smiled, keeping her eyes closed for a minute. "It is," she agreed. "I love this time of year; it makes things so much more...cheery." Her eyes opened and she turned her head, finding her best friend's light blue orbs. Kairi had been filled in by Sora about what happened to their two blonde friends, and Kairi had been devastated; Roxas and Namine had gone through so much in such a short time. But she was glad that they had been able to keep their heads up and move forward. Roxas and Namine had each other, and she knew that as long as that was the case, they could get through anything. It's something she felt in her heart, and she knew it was true for her friends. It was obvious by the way they just looked at each other that they adored one another and loved each other with all they had, and Kairi was glad to see it.

Sora took one step back, the ball soaring a little higher than before. He reached up and pulled it close to his chest, getting a firm grip on it to make sure he didn't drop it. A soft breeze went through his brown hair, the wind perfect. It wasn't too hot or too cold out, which is why he loved this time of year so much. He gripped the ball tightly in his right hand as he pulled back his arm and released it again, casually throwing it to his friend. He was glad to see Roxas again, and he could tell by the look of things that he really was doing okay after everything that had happened. Sora was sure it wasn't an easy thing to go through, the teen remembering back to what he and Kairi had gone through with their one massive issue. But they got through it, and Roxas and Namine got through their tough time as well.

Namine smiled at the words, nodding her head slightly. "Agreed." The brighter landscape was really helping her feel more cheeful, though she was always happy with Roxas near her anyway. Even now, he was only a little bit away from her, Roxas and Sora throwing a football behind the two girls. She knew that he was probably keeping an eye on her, remembering what had happened last time they had been to the park. Ever since that whole thing, Roxas had been extremely protective of her, and Namine was thankful for that. She had needed that feeling of protection, and she supposed that she still did. She was hesitant to go anywhere without Roxas, unable to forget about all the other stuff that had happened when she was by herself. Still, she was starting to move on and get more comfortable with being seperate from Roxas in public places. But she still wanted him close, especially here at this place.

Roxas reached up and caught the ball that had spiraled right toward his chest. When he caught the ball, he looked up at Sora. "And you said I had a good throw," he said, chuckling a little before pulling the ball back and throwing it to the brunet not that far away from him. Roxas turned his head a little, looking over to his left and finding his girl sitting next to Kairi with her back facing him. He glanced around her swiftly, only seeing a few teenagers or adults walking by with friends, family, or their partner. He turned his head back to face Sora, waiting to catch the ball he was sure was about to be thrown to him.

Kairi smiled at Namine before turning her head to look in front of her. She was leaning back against her hands, one ankle crossed over the other as she and Namine sat in the grass. The gentle breeze blew a few hair strands in Kairi's eyes, causing her to bring up one of her hands and push the strands back. It was nice to be hanging out with Namine again, especially after everything the blonde had gone through, and what Kairi had gone through herself.

Sora grinned slightly, catching the ball when it came right toward his chest. "I'm surprised I can still do that," Sora started. "We haven't done this in a long time, and I still feel pretty rusty." He pulled back his arm and threw the ball again, the football spiraling beautifully through the air and toward Roxas.

Namine turned her head forward, facing the area in front of her. The park was very big, and hardly anybody was close to her and Kairi. She could see some children playing off in the distance and she smiled softly at the sight. They appeared to be having fun, playing a game of tag or something like that. I haven't played that game in forever, Namine mused to herself, continuing to watch them all running and yelling in the distance.

Roxas caught the ball successfully, near his chest. "I'm surprised you're rusty at all, with a pass like that," he said, shifting the ball into his right hand. "But, I agree. We haven't done this in almost a year, ever since we got jobs...well, had jobs." He threw the ball out of his hand, the football twirling through the Spring air. He hadn't been too work in months, not that he really cared. Roxas had had enough stuff going on, and work was the very last thing on his mind.

Kairi put her hand back down on the grass, breathing in the fresh air. She hadn't been to the park since that day back in February, on Valentine's Day, when all four of them had the snowball fight. It was nice to be back, especially when there wasn't anymore dangerous, icy water to threaten any of them again. Now, the water just sparkled in the sunlight as Kairi looked over at it, seeing a few people sitting on benches nearby, admiring the scenery. She was doing the same, watching people enjoy themselves and have fun.
