Sora's faint smile widened at the statement, the teen keeping his eyes locked with Kairi's. He knew that she didn't only mean that they were good looking physically, but it felt as if she were referring to the emotions that were shinning in those bright blue orbs. "Thanks, Kairi," Sora said quietly, his soft smile staying on his lips as he gazed at the redhead.

 

Kairi nodded slightly. "Sure," she said softly, keeping her eyes locked with Sora's. She would say that any time of any day if Sora wanted her to, because his eyes truly were beautiful.

 

Sora smiled softly, shifting slighlty from uncomfort. He had been kneeling for a while now, and he was getting a little tired. After a brief moment, he stood himself upright, taking a step over to the side and sitting himself down beside Kairi on the couch.

 

Kairi followed Sora with her violet-blue eyes before putting her hands in her lap. She turned her gaze down to them, her soft smile fading into a faint one in the silence.

 

Sora leaned back slightly, looking over at Kairi for a few moments. Then he brought up his left arm, gently wrapping it around Kairi's shoulders.

 

Kairi smiled a little more at the gesture, leaning into Sora without any hesitation. She let her head rest against his shoulder as she kept her hands in her lap, still sitting cross-legged on the couch.

 

Sora tilted his head down slightly, planting a light kiss on Kairi's red hair before going back to his previous position.

 

Kairi smiled and blinked softly at the sweet gesture, bringing her left hand out of her lap and across her, lightly setting it on Sora's chest.

 

Sora felt his heart skip a beat at the soft touch, Kairi's hand now resting lightly against his chest.

 

Kairi tilted her head up as she let her hand rest against the boy's chest. Her eyes found Sora's quickly, causing her to smile.

 

Sora softly returned Kairi's smile, tightening his arm around her without thought or hesitation.

 

Kairi felt even happier when Sora's arm tightened around her, loving how he gave her a feeling of protection and security. He seemed very protective of her ever since Carter, and she didn't argue; all she wanted was to be in his arms lately. And she wondered if that was because she was taken away from him so abruptly.

 

Sora held Kairi close to him, a soft smile on his lips. He then turned his head, gazing at the wall in front of him.

 

Kairi lowered her head, letting it rest against Sora's shoulder. Regardless of what she thought about his actions, she loved them either way, no matter what caused them.

 

Sora looked down again when he felt a soft movement, his gaze falling on the girl in his arms. Keeping his arm tightly wrapped around her, the brunette lowered his head as well, letting his cheek lightly rest on top of Kairi's head.

 

Kairi inhaled a silent breath and released it as she closed her eyes for the moment, comfortable in Sora's arms.

 

Sora exhaled silently, the breath leaving his nose and blowing slightly over some of Kairi's red hair. A few of the strands shifted position at the wind, but the rest stayed the same.

 

Kairi felt a light wind near the top of her head, but she knew it was only Sora's breath. She moved her hand slightly, gripping Sora's shirt a little.

 

Sora kept his eyes shut in relaxation, the silence surrounding them full of peace. It was a relief for him to feel that. Over the past week, they had experienced a few peaceful moments, but none quite like this.

 

Kairi took in another soft breath in the silence, feeling comfortable in Sora's arms. Ever since that day, she hadn't been with anyone else, nor did she want to be. Sora had been her comfort, and she had been his. That's the way it was, and she didn't think it would change.
