KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

"You're going down!" Sora warned her a moment before he leaned down slightly, gently pulling his arms out from underneath Kairi and letting her form drop lightly onto the couch.

 

Kairi felt her form suddenly meet the couch cushions, and her eyes immediately fell on the surface. She then turned her sight to the boy looking down at her, guilty of dropping her. "Hey!" she joked, giggling slightly. She had a sweet grin plastered on her face while her jaw dropped a little, surprised that Sora had actually dropped her, but also amused by the moment.

 

Sora smiled sheepishly at Kairi, unable to think of any words to say. His grin stayed plastered on his face as he knelt down in front of Kairi, getting down to her eye level now.

 

Kairi kept her smile on her face as Sora kept his, relieved to be having a playful moment like this again. It had been a while since they had had a moment like this, and she loved it; she loved to see Sora grinning again; she loved to see him being his goofy self again. Sora was charming, either when he was being goofy or being sweet.

 

"You said I could put you down," Sora stated, trying to keep his voice serious as he spoke to Kairi. "So I did." The loving smirk stayed on his lips, the teen unable to get rid of that one sign of goofiness.

 

"I know," Kairi agreed with a nod, her smile softening a little. "But I must admit...I was pretty comfortable." She let her smile widen a little, both at her own statment and at Sora's smirk.

 

Sora's smile softened at Kairi's seriousness, the boy surprised at the sudden turn of events. "And I was comfortable holding you," Sora stated honestly, his bright blue eyes sparkling as he gazed softly at Kairi.

 

Kairi let her lips spread a little more, her smile widening slightly at Sora's words. Her eyes stayed locked with his, in slight awe of their color and brightness.

 

Sora chuckled softly in slight embarassment, seeing Kairi's eyes locked on his. He smile widened as he turned his head to the side, his cheeks turning pink in shyness.

 

Kairi bit her lip in slight shyness, but she quit when she shifted her position on the couch. She tucked her legs under her, sitting cross-legged on the couch as she sat up a little straighter. She reached forward with her right hand, lightly bringing her fingertips to Sora's cheek and gently turning his face toward her.

 

Sora's smile softened when he felt Kairi's fingertips on his cheek, turning his head lightly toward her. When he met her eyes, he felt all his shyness disapear, the boy focusing on her beautiful violet-blue eyes.

 

Kairi had a faint smile on her lips as she looked into Sora's eyes, seeing something different in their dazzling blue depths. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, though.

 

Sora's smile faded slightly, but it was still clearly visible on his face, his happiness showing in his eyes as well. Kairi made him feel so happy, and he was sure that was apparant in his eyes.

 

"Your eyes..." Kairi started softly, her hand still on his cheek. But her voice trailed off. She noticed the happiness in Sora's eyes; that was very obvious. But there was something else about them. She didn't know if it was how bright they were today or if it was something within their depths, but it put her in awe.

 

My eyes? Sora tilted his head slightly in curiousity, wondering what Kairi was thinking. He could see in her eyes that she was thinking about something, probably that topic. But what was it about his eyes that made her bring them up...?

 

Kairi let her fingertips stay against Sora's cheek lightly as she thought it over. The look in his eyes now...it seemed familiar; something she hadn't seen in a while. How powerful it was in his eyes put her in awe.

 

Sora blinked softly one time before holding Kairi's gaze, still feeling confused. Her silence had actually increased that feeling, but he tried to make it disapear. But then again, confussion probably wasn't a bad thing right now...unless there was something deep inside his eyes that he couldn't feel or know about. However, he highly doubted that was the case, knowing that the feelings in his heart now were ones of happiness, joy, and love; along with some other emotions as well.

 

Kairi smiled a little more when she finally figured out what the emotion was in Sora's eyes; elation. Optimism and pride. She let her hand fall from his cheek as she blinked once, no longer searching the boy's eyes. After everything they had been through, Sora was looking on the brighter side of things, and so was she. He truly believed that things would get better, much better. And she couldn't argue. Just by the playfulness a few moments ago, Kairi knew that things were already getting much better, and the look in the blue depths of Sora's eyes only increased that feeling.

 

Sora curiously kept his eyes on Kairi, wondering what she was thinking during the silence. He could tell by her smile that she was satisfied with whatever she discovered in his eyes, and that feeling was good enough for him. He mentally pushed away that confused feeling, deciding to focus on the moment at hand instead.

 

Kairi's smile softened a tiny bit as she looked at the boy knelt down in front of her. "Your eyes are gorgeous, Sora," she said softly, finishing the sentence she had started earlier. Just gazing at them now made her feel like she could swim in them forever. But Sora and Kairi had more than forever; they had forever and a day.
