KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine exhaled softly, suddenly feeling a little stiff. It made sense though; she had been asleep on the floor, lying in that one position, for a very long time. But she didn't want to get up; that position was too comforting.

 

Roxas moved his fingers a little, lightly stroking Namine's back while keeping his hand in place as his eyes stayed closed and he relaxed. His vocals very softly started humming a tune behind the boy's closed mouth, the tune from a song he once sang to Namine.

 

Namine bit her lip when she heard soft humming, a smile starting to spread across her face away. She remembered hearing it before, and the soft tune only brought back her wonderful memories.

 

Roxas let the humming continue softly in the melody of the song he sang to Namine a few days ago when she had been sick on his couch. He remembered how her face had lit up at the song, and he had been relieved to see it, bringing her comfort and peace.

 

Namine sighed softly in contentness, Roxas' soft humming continuing. She recognized it from a few days ago, when she had first been feeling sick. He had sung it to cheer her up, and it did just that. And it was going the same now...even though Namine already felt as if her heart would burst with the happiness she felt.

 

Roxas continued his humming, starting to feel himself drift slightly. He knew it wasn't from tiredness, but from comfort; the comfort Namine brought him. He didn't mind falling asleep really, because she was in his arms still, and falling asleep the same way he woke up was just fine with him.

 

Namine snuggled herself closer to Roxas, her face against his chest again. Her form relaxed slightly, the girl feeling herself start slipping out of counciousness before she even realized what was happening.

 

Roxas's humming slowly started to grow softer as he felt himself slipping from conciousness, his fingers slowing their motion a little as well on Namine's back.

 

Namine softly took in a breath before silently releasing it, the girl losing conciousness with the release of that breath.

 

Roxas's fingers stopped rubbing Namine's back completely, resting against her back as he took in a soft breath. As he released it, his humming came to a slow halt, softening with every second until it was quiet in the room, Roxas falling asleep on the floor again with Namine in his arms.

Sora softly released a breath, the teen sitting on the couch and watching television. It had been a little over a week since everything that had happened, and things had been...awkward, to put it lightly. When something serious like that happened, it was hard to forget it quickly. But now, after all the serious discussions and bonding moments he and Kairi had shared, it felt as if that were happening. Their love for each other was replacing all their other feelings and fears, making their lives much less tense. Sora was very thankful for that, not only because of the stress disapearing, but why it was disapearing. Kairi had comforted him greatly throughout all this, and he had done the same for her. Working together, he knew that they could move on from this. There was no doubt in his mind that things would be better again...and someday soon, too. It was just this feeling he had in his heart, and he knew it was true.

 

Kairi walked down the sidewalk, wearing a light jacket over her navy blue t-shirt. Her violet-blue eyes focused on her sneakers, her dark jeans in view. She kept her head down for a moment before looking up, the sun shining brightly in the sky. She smiled slightly at the beautiful day, and it was going to be even better, for she was making her way to Sora's. They had spent every day of the past week together, especially because of the incident that happened not long ago. Carter was the reason that Kairi was slightly afraid of men lately, not looking at them as she passed, fearing that she would see Carter in them somewhere. Sora was the only guy she trusted, both with her heart and her life. He had been her greatest support system the past week, but he always had been anyway. Kairi took in a breath and brought a hand to the golden heart around her neck, grasping it lightly as she thought about the boy she loved. They had gotten the chain replaced a day or two after Kairi got it back, and now she never left the house without it. It reminded her that Sora was always with her, no matter where she was.

 

Sora kept his eyes on the television screen, even though he wasn't really watching anything. He leaned forward slightly while pushing up the sleeves of his solid gray shirt. His elbows rested on his knees as he reflected, thinking back to the past week. Kairi had stayed at his house for a few days before returning home. It was bittersweet, really. Sora didn't really want her to leave, but since Kairi felt as if she were ready to go, he let her. It showed him that he had done the work he had set out to do, making Kairi feel secure and safe enough to move on with life.

 

Kairi crossed a street and continued straight, heading toward Sora's. He didn't live that far from her, really, but during the past week she had decided to go home anyway. She knew that because of Sora she was well enough to go back home. After waking up that day in his house, and telling him she should probably go, she had seen the look in his eyes. Kairi hadn't known what to call it, really; it was a mixture of two emotions--one being sadness, but the other being happiness. Kairi guessed that the joy was for her to be all right enough to actually leave, and the other being that he hadn't really wanted her to go. In a way, Kairi felt as if she had been a burden at the time, and she had mentioned that to Sora once. But he had sweetly assured her that she wasn't and never would be, and that had calmed Kairi's concern on the subject.

 

Sora cupped his hands together, the sounds of the televison coming into his ears. Kairi was his greatest concern with this whole thing. After all, she was the one who was taken away from him and, as much as he didn't want to admit it to himself, she was hurt. He hated that fact, because even if it wasn't his fault, he hated to see her heart. It made him feel guilty in a way, as if he couldn't take away all her pain and sorrow. He doubt he actually could do that, but on several occasions, Kairi had told him the opposite, letting him know how much his gentleness helped her. She had said that he was her knight in shining armor, always protecting her, loving her, and treating her in the exact way she needed to be treated. That had definitly brightened Sora's mood. He chuckled softly at the memory, his cheeks turning a little pink in slight shyness. His reaction had been the same at that time, though his shy feeling had quickly disapeared when Kairi suddenly kissed him on the lips.

 

Kairi looked ahead of her, avoiding eye contact with anyone she passed as she made her way to Sora's. She subconciously fingered the golden chain of her necklace, thinking of Sora. While she had been at Sora's, they had come even closer than they had been before her kidnapping. They had bonded over the past week, strengthening their relationship. Kairi exhaled softly, remembering the moment she had brought up a pretty touchy subject. As uncomfortable as it had been for both her and Sora, she had known it had to be discussed.

 

The sound of cheering entered Sora's ears, the boy snapping out of his thoughts and looking to the screen. The fans at the basketball game were going crazy, the home team having just won their first game in a few weeks. They weren't that good, but they had good hearts, and the fans seemed to recognize that. A lot of people in this world just had cruel hearts, like Carter. Sora hated that man, though there wasn't much left to hate anymore, since the thug was dead. He had mentally pushed that topic away, not even wanting to think of himself as a murderer. He had done what needed to be done, simple as that. If he hadn't done it, he would have lost Kairi, and that was the worst thing that could ever happen to him. His love for her burned brightly in his heart; it was a fire that never diminished, only growing with every day.

 

Unfortunately that topic had been Carter, and what exactly he had planned to do with her. Kairi closed her eyes for a minute, taking in a breath as she tried to calm her nerves at the thought of that man. She opened her violet-blue orbs and looked ahead of her again, remembering how she had thought aloud one day about it. Sora had said that he knew what the plan had been for Carter, but he hadn't gone into detail about it; he only said that somebody wanted the power in her heart for something, though she wasn't sure what. She remembered the look on Sora's face when he had talked about it, obviously recalling something Carter had said that had hurt him. It had hurt Kairi to bring up the subject and bring back unwanted memories, but it needed to be done for both her and Sora to move on.
