KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas moved his hand from Namine's back to her shoulder lightly. He kept his gaze on her for a minute before a rumble of thunder came from outside. He turned his head, looking out the window. It doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon, he thought. His eyes traveled over to the fireplace about ten feet from the couch, and Roxas got an idea.

 

Namine bit down harder on her lip, her eyes flitting down to the floor at the rumble of thunder. Even though Roxas was with her now, Namine still felt the emotions from earlier. It was easy for those feelings to appear, but almost impossible for them to disapear.

 

Roxas bit his lip a little as he stood himself up, his eyes on the fireplace. He moved the flashlight so he could look at it as he approached it, the boy searching the corners of it for some matches. He slowly hovered the light over one corner and moved it to the other on the mantel. He caught a glimpse of something white behind a picture frame, and he did a double take, moving the flashlight back.

 

Namine's eyes flitted up to Roxas when he moved, her soft blue orbs staying on his form. No! I don't want you to leave! The thoughts of panic ran through her mind, the girl keeping her gaze on Roxas. She let out a soft breath when she noticed that he wasn't leaving the room, just looking for something. But...what was it?

 

Roxas reached up with his free hand, grabbing the small box. He smiled slightly in satisfaction when he found what he was looking for. He knelt down in front of the fireplace then, his eyes on the wood already in place. He looked down, using his thumb to slide the button on the flashlight down, turning it off.

 

Namine curiously watched Roxas, staying silent as she watched his movements.

OOC: Wow, I really gotta go. Bye!

 

The room became engulfed in darkness, silence filling the air. Roxas reached into the box of matches and pulled one out. He took in a breath before swiping it against the rough edge of the box of matches, the tip of the match bursting into light. The warm light shone in that part of the room, Roxas' face visible as he held the match in front of him. He then looked down, lowering the burning match to the wood and lighting the fireplace. He had to hold it there for a moment before small flames appeared.

Namine kept her soft gaze on Roxas, understanding what he was doing now. A fire was probably a good idea; it was warm, bright, and relaxing in a strange way. That's how she felt, anyway.

 

Roxas brought the match back as the fire started up, flames licking the wood inside. He shook the match, making the small flame go out. His skin started to feel the heat slightly as the fire spread, the room being filled with a warm glow.

 

Namine blinked softly when the flames started to grow in the fireplace, a new source of light illuminating the room. The girl slowly took in a breath and then released it before raising a hand and setting it lightly on her cheek. It felt damp in one trial, and she remembered the tears she had shed a few moments ago. She wiped at the trail before going over to her other cheek and doing the same. Then she returned to her previous position, gazing at the fire.

 

Roxas put his uninjured hand on the floor as he leaned back, bringing his feet out from under him before he scooted back a little, now sitting down on the floor. He tucked one leg under the other, sitting Indian style on the carpet. He brought his hands forward, resting his elbows against his legs as his eyes stayed glued to the fire as its heat went over his skin.

 

Namine let her eyes flicker shut, the soft sound of the fire cackling entering her ears. She turned her head slightly on her knees, letting her cheek rest on her legs.

 

Roxas stared at the fire, watching the orange flames flitter around in the fire, the tips becoming blue. The silence in the room was still the same, and the storm outside didn't change either; the thunder rumbled outside of Roxas' house, lightning flickering through the window.

 

Namine opened her eyes again, hearing a soft rumble of thunder outside. She silently lowered her legs, setting her feet on the floor as she faced the fireplace. That one simple sound only brought back her fears...fears she didn't want to live with. The blonde girl slowly released a breath, one of her hands falling to her lap to gently take off the blanket. She held it in her hand as she forced herself to her feet, taking a few steps toward the fireplace and Roxas. She stopped behind him, kneeling down slightly and lightly draping the blanket over his shoulders.

 

Roxas turned his head to look at the cloth now over his shoulders, his eyes staying on it before he tilted his head up. His eyes found the light blue so familiar to him, a slight reflection of the fire in them.

 

Namine kept her soft gaze on Roxas, catching some of the light from the fire in his eyes. She stood there for a brief moment before moving, taking a step over and gently sitting herself down beside Roxas.

 

Roxas followed Namine with his eyes, his blue orbs staying on her when she was sitting beside him. He let his eyes go over the side of her face that was in view, watching as the faint red glow covered her pale skin.

 

Namine softly released a breath, sitting with her legs underneath her slightly. Her sky-blue eyes shone in the light from the fire as she gazed at that. But then, after a moment, she realized she was being watched. She turned her head, her eyes immediatly catching onto Roxas'.

 

Roxas' eyes immediately locked with Namine's light blue orbs, one side of her face having a slight shadow from the lack of light behind her and him.

 

Namine blinked softly two times, her eyes feeling slightly dry because of the warm fire.
