KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas' lips turned up slightly at the sight of Namine's smile. He flitted his eyes away for a second as he started speaking. "Listen...about what happened," he started, flitting his eyes to hers. As he opened his mouth to say more, the lights suddenly flickered, cutting him off. His eyes widened slightly, both in confusion and a little surprise.

 

Namine gasped slightly at the flickering of the lights, her eyes wandering away from Roxas and around the room. What was happening?

 

Roxas looked outside the window as the lights flickered, the storm heavy outside. His eyes traveled to the one of the lights in the room just as lightning flashed outside, a crack coming from the strike. If the electricity went out...

 

Namine felt her eyes widen slightly at the sound of lightning cracking, the girl turning slightly so she could face the window. She heard thunder outside and saw the rain pouring down very hard, the outside world very dark at most times, only brightening for a very brief moment whenever lightning struck.

 

Roxas flitted his eyes to Namine when she turned, and then to the lights again when they flickered. The sky was dark outside, meaning if the lights went out, there'd be no light. He turned his head a little to the lamp on the endtable on his side of the couch. He watched it for a second, and then suddenly the room turned dark. Roxas' eyes widened, though his bright azure orbs couldn't be seen.

 

Namine felt her eyes widen when the lights went out, a sharp gasp leaving her lips. She turned away from the window, facing in the direction of Roxas. A faint outline of him was still visible because of the small amount of light coming through the window, but that was all she saw of him. "Roxas?" She cried out slightly in surprise, the name leaving her lips without thought.

 

Roxas turned his head at the call, barely seeing her light blonde hair in the darkness. "It's all right," he said softly in the darkness. He could barely see anything in the room, except the outlines of a few objects in the room from the window.

 

Namine bit down on her lip, her eyes staying on the boy she knew was in front of her. She exhaled softly, all of her emotions suddenly bubbling up inside her. I can't take this anymore! It's too stressful; it's too much for me to handle... the thoughts flooded her mind, making tears appear in her sky-blue orbs. Just this one time, she was thankful that Roxas couldn't see her eyes.

 

Roxas knew that he couldn't see anything, but he couldn't help but blink hard a few times and try to magically improve his vision so he could see. It didn't work, and so he would wait until lightning came so he could see. He turned his head so he was looking back at the girl he knew was beside him, slowly reaching over to try and find her hand.

 

Namine sniffed softly, her eyes shutting as she turned her head so she was facing forward. She wrapped both arms around her stomach, tears hiding behind her closed eyelids.

 

Roxas felt his hand land on something, the fabric underneath his fingers feeling like fabric of his sweats. He knew then that he had found Namine's knee, the girl still wearing a pair of his sweats. He kept his hand on her knee, his eyes searching the darkness for her face.

 

Namine's eyes flickered open at the light touch, one tear escaping her eye and sliding down her cheek. She couldn't see anything, but she knew that Roxas had placed his hand on her knee.

 

Roxas continued to search for Namine's face in the darkness until he got a little help from the lightning outside. Two strikes of lightning flashed outside the windows, bringing light to the room. Roxas' eyes found Namine's for those short seconds, though he couldn't see anything specific.

 

When the lightning lit the room, Namine noticed through her blurry eyes that she was gazing down slightly, her eyes on Roxas' hand on her knee. She kept one arm lightly wrapped around her stomach but moved her other one, her hand landing lightly on Roxas'.

 

Roxas' eyes shifted to where he thought his hand was, feeling Namine's hand over his. He pressed his lips together at the gentle touch, but he knew they still had problems to take care of, the electricity being one of them.

 

Namine softly released a breath, her eyes flitting shut again. There was no point in having them open; she couldn't see anything anyway. Another tear escaped her, trailing down her right cheek this time.

 

Roxas turned his hand over gently, wrapping his fingers around Namine's hand. His hand held hers securely, though he knew he needed to take care of the problem at hand. But there were so many problems to deal with; mental and emotional problems from earlier, his physical pain that only came at certain times, and now the lights. He squeezed Namine's hand lightly, closing his eyes for a moment as a low rumble of thunder vibrated under his feet a little.

 

Namine felt Roxas' gentle grip, his hand wrapping around hers now. She let her fingers move slightly, lightly holding Roxas' hand.

 

Roxas let his thumb travel over a small part of Namine's skin, his eyes opening to see nothing but blackness. "I should probably go find a flashlight," he thought aloud, his voice soft in the dark room.

 

Namine nodded slightly at the statement, agreeing with it. "Right," she said, agreeing verbally this time so Roxas would have a response. She let her grip around his hand loosen slightly, the girl opening her eyes and looking down in that general area.
