KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Brian completely disappeared from Roxas' view, and so he let his head fall slightly as his posture slumped a little from weakness. With all of the action that had happened, as well as the added weight from his drenched clothes, Roxas couldn't help but slouch a little. He closed his eyes from both the rain pelting down on him and the pain from his injuries. He brought his left arm to his right side, feeling the effects of the powerful kick. He opened his eyes, exhaling as water dripped from his spikes in front of his eyes and looking at his hand.

 

Namine exhaled softly, blinking her eyes softly several times before letting her eyes close. She had thought that this whole thing was over a few days ago, but apparently she had thought wrong. Brian was a total jerk, breaking into Roxas' house, threatening her and...holding that knife to her throat. A soft sob left Namine's throat at the thought, that same feeling of fear that she had earlier impacting her heart.

 

Roxas shook his hand slightly, trying to get the aching to go away. How hard had he punched Brian? His strength alone was pretty powerful, but added with the adrenaline that had run through him at the time, it had to be twice as powerful, maybe a little more... Roxas kept a hand on his side as he peered through the pouring rain, not only with heavy clothes, but with a heavy heart. This had all happened to avenge Jeff's black eye, which Roxas had delivered personally. But still...Namine. She had been held to the wall with a knife to her throat because of him! Roxas let out a sound of disgust which was immediately followed by a wince from his pain. He decided that standing out here wasn't going to do any good, and he needed to get back inside. He was freezing from being so soaked and the strong wind blowing on him.

 

Namine exhaled shakily, burrying her head in her knees. Waiting alone like this was absolutely miserable, the girl having no idea if the fight was still going on or if it was over. She heard a bang out thunder outside and she gripped her legs more tightly. Her worry for Roxas was momentarilly covering up her other emotions, and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. She couldn't even put the energy in to elaborate on that thought, too concerned about Roxas.

 

Roxas squinted through the heavy sheet of rain as he walked across the soaking wet grass, his hand still on his side. What Brian had said...Namine seemed to be getting into more trouble than she was getting protected from it, and it was Roxas' fault...

 

Namine bit her lip subconciously, her eyes shutting more tightly at another loud rumble of thunder. She shivered slightly from nervousness, discomfort, and some pain. I just want this all to be over, she thought miserably, the feelings starting to rise up inside her again.

 

First it was Smith...then Jeff, and now Brian. Would Roxas ever really protect Namine before she was physically harmed? He looked down at his feet, lowering his head so his face didn't get pelted with rain as he made his way over to the path to his door. His teeth started to chatter slightly from being so cold, his clothing heavy.

 

I didn't ask for any of this! Why do I keep putting Roxas in such dangerous situations? True, Smith brought me into the situation first, but if I hadn't ticked off Jeff that day, none of this would have happened! Namine swallowed hard one time, choking back her emotions the best she could.

 

Roxas looked up, knowing he was close to his front door. He heard the sound of rain hitting the house echo off of it, his eyes finding the doorknob. He kept his left hand at his right side as he lifted his aching right hand to the door knob, turning it as he prepared to push it open.

 

Namine inhaled softly, burrying her head more deeply into her knees. Fighting her emotions wasn't going too well for her, the girl feeling very overwhelmed at that moment. Everything that happened...everything that could have happened...it frightened her deeply, and that feeling just wouldn't leave her no matter how hard she tried to ignore it.

 

Roxas saw lightning flash behind him from a reflection off one of the windows as he pushed the door open, thunder roaring in the sky as well as the rain hitting the house, as well as his form. He closed his eyes as he pushed the door open, taking a step inside.

 

Namine's eyes flitted open at a sound--a new type of sound. It was different than the thunder and rain outside, and she could only assume that the sound was a door opening. Roxas....? She hoped that it was him, and that she hadn't actually imagined the sound completely. The girl brought her head out of her knees and gazed at the doorway again.

 

His arm around his stomach and gripping his side, Roxas kept his injured hand on the doorknob as he took another step in, pushing the door open completely and letting go of the handle. The water from his body--from his clothes, skin, and hair--dripped on the floor, mud on his clothes as well. He opened his eyes, his orbs falling on the floor once he opened them. Lightning and thunder occured behind him again, the roar of rain hitting solid ground coming from behind him as well.

Namine heard a door shut; barely though, because of the rumbling of thunder. Roxas, she thought in relief, though her relief was short lived when she remembered why he had been outside in the first place. The blond girl released her legs and set her hands on the carpet, starting to push herself up slowly.

Roxas felt water drip from one of the spikes in his face to his nose, watching it as it slid to the tip of his nose and then fall on the floor. He took in a breath before releasing it, shivering a little with the added wind that came through the door that was still open behind him.

 

Once she was fully upright, Namine started to walk through the living room, heading toward the doorway to get to the front entrance hall. Her thoughts were centered around Roxas, nothing else. She faintly heard wind blowing, and it sounded stronger than it had a few moments ago. But, the door was closed, wasn't it....? As she got closer to the doorway she felt a faint breeze, and she knew that she had been mistaken; the soft sound she heard earlier must have been something else.

 

Roxas tried to catch his breath, being worn out and feeling dragged down. Literally. His clothes were so soaking wet that they were heavy on him, his jeans heavy, as well as his jacket putting more weight on his shoulders, the sleeves sticking to his arms as his shirt stuck to his torso. The boy inhaled deeply, but stopped short, his side ringing out in pain when he took in the deep breath. He squeezed his eyes shut as the pain occured, causing him to grip his side a little tighter. How hard had Brian kicked him anyway?!

 

Namine exited the living room and turned slightly, walking into the entrance room. Her eyes immediatly caught onto Roxas, though he wasn't looking at her. Concern shone in her light blue orbs as she felt her legs carry her to him without thought, her gaze staying on the blond boy.

 

Roxas was aware that he was holding his breath as the pain remained temporarily in his side. He heard the rain behind him outside the door, feeling the wind brushing against his back, which made him colder. But he couldn't move at the moment, waiting for the pain to subside, which was temporarily immobilizing him. His eyebrows were furrowed over his shut eyes, barely starting to feel that sharp pain in his side go away.

 

"Roxas?" Namine's worry came through in her voice as she stopped in front of the boy, right in front of him. She lightly lifted her hand and set it on his shoulder, immediatly noticing how cold and soaked he felt. He looked pretty bad to start off with, but this only made her concern grow in intensity.
